A quick story about a random onetime encounter with Rich piana that set off a chain of events that saved me my son's life. Back in 02-03, we were in line at a store and rich walks up behind us, my son was just amazed by the size of him and 9 year olds stare u know. So I tell my son, hey don't stare, that's rude... Then outta nowhere rich pulls up his sleeves and bends down with his arms flexed and lightly growls in my son's ear. My son naturally screamed, turned around, and kinda slap-hit rich on his shoulder and ran behind me. Rich started playing up the damage from my kids "punch" and my son was worried that he hurt the "hulk guy", he called rich "the hulk guy". Few seconds later rich starts laughing, "I'm sorry big man, didnt mean to scare u like that". He ended up taking a pic with me and my son, just a good dude. So, in the years that followed, my kid started buying fitness magazines, body builder magazines and would cut out pics of rich and hang em up in his bedroom and in the garage. We turned half of the garage into a gym so he could workout whenever he wanted. During this time, he got me and his mom into working out, exercising, and most of all, he saved my life by helping me quit smoking. Rich, inadvertently, saved my son's life too... One night my son's friends invited him to a party and he declined cuz he had plans to hit the gym with his dad. The next day we find out that the car my son would've been in, had he gone to the party, was in an accident. All 3 of his friends died. The car rolled 200 feet down a hill when a car coming towards them, in the other lane, crossed over into their lane to avoid hitting a deer. When emergency vehicles arrived an hour later, the 3 friends were still inside the car and burned beyond recognition.

creative media All of this story is 100% fake. The whole action took less than 12 minutes start to finish. You don't laugh when a person is lying on the floor but people all around did it. Why is this all planned out? I saw 1 punch, 1 kick and some other small fake punches hidden by the crowd. If this was real the entire place would have turned to mad house escalating up to blind riot until security intervention. Nothing of that happened. If you look at the faces all around they were all laughing as if a slap-comedy has just finished. Don't forget this is LA man, the show business capital of the world. Do this in Columbus, Ohio and you would have 2 death and 8 people injured.

I see Rich as a business man. He portray him self as a body builder, to promote his brand. He is basically the owner, CEO and brand ambassador for his brand. Fighting with cheap guys would scare his business and reputation.

Mad respect for Rich!! Who shares their yearly budget and expenses to show how exactly he won Mr California. He broke down gear cost, supplement cost, food cost etc. he openly admitted about gear and the side affects along with the supplements needed to be as healthy as possible while on gear. He seems like a very genuine person in his videos. Most body builders lie about what they are on. Why idk. Ego probably. Fact is, you don’t get that kinda size from just lifting and eating.
I remember this! That was quite a bit of excitement that day. I was trying to find myself in the video but I think I must've been right behind you when this happened. I still think Rich knew to keep this under control cause he knew this is a good way to get kicked out and banned from the event. He was always open he was in this for the money.

Going back and watching old Rich videos and I came across this. At 9:58 there's the part where Rich is moving forward facing down the threat. I saw in another video (taken standing closer to that angle) that it really does look like Rich is loading up a right hook to throw at Macc, and Macc backpedals FAST. But then again, who wouldn't try to slip a punch that you see coming? LOL ....(link to the video with the angle I was talking about: czcams.com/video/ovp98eFkSA0/video.html) ...... The way I see it, Rich was a class act who kept his composure AND kept his crew in check (to the extent possible). BUT, it's not as if Macc is obligated to stand with his hands down waiting for the punch. Of course, once it was clear that Macc was backing down, Rich didn't let the punch fly, and didn't pursue the fight. Like I said earlier, a class act. We all knew it the first time this news broke, if all those big dudes started brawling it that crowded place, some innocent little kid would've gotten caught in the melee and really could've been hurt. Rich's legacy has a lot of layers to it; but I contend that little things like this cement his place as a humble and decent person. He could've let ego tell him to pursue a needless fight, putting others in danger. Instead, he chose to keep his wits about him, and made a choice that was best for everyone involved, and not just give in to ego in the moment. R.I.P. big man. Years later, and STILL missed.

Nice video. But I wouldn't say it was a sucker "kick" like Mac truccs sucker punch because Alex took about 4-5 steps towards him with obvious intent so the guy knew something was coming. He blew his knees out and you can see he landed on his knee awkward after his kick. The other knee, idk.
I don't know about anyone else but I gotta tell ya, I'm surprised when the one guy went down from 5%, that there wasn't a swarm of 5% shirts regulating to keep that guy from getting kicked while he was down. Being a healthy bodybuilder is one thing, achieving absurd muscles with steroids is a ridiculous look.
"Just because they're bigger doesn't mean they can fight." True words. I love the gym and community but, big bulky guys are usually the easy fights especially if your leg locks are on point. I always find the lengthy guys to be the hardest fights and surprisingly strong.
I would think dropping to the ground in a street fight in order to attempt a leg lock whilst fighting a much larger man would be an unacceptable risk to most people. I In BJJ you are not at risk of getting your teeth stomped in, that's why they are more willing to attempt leg locks. You don't see leg locks a lot in the UFC anymore. In my humble opinion.
@@garrettcochran9169 I definitely would not just drop to the ground for any joint manipulation to include a leg lock. If they are bigger than you, obviously range will not be in your favor and you will eventually end up in the pocket, throw strikes all day long but the reality (and statistically) is that fight will end up on the ground.
