Think you’ve got it spot on there, EDC isn’t about carrying the latest or most expensive gear or carrying stuff because it’s in vogue and that’s what everyone else is carrying. It’s about curating a set of pieces that are meaningful to you and that you enjoy carrying or using, some stuff might be premium and very sentimental others might be budget because they do a great job and you like them 👍

I have small Inkosi (slightly shorter but more stout version of small Sebenza) and had the same feeling towards its action. However, the action saw quite a drastic improvement after disassembling it and applied a silicon grease to the divots of its bronze washers. It is not to the extent of the actions of ball bearing pivots like the presented Vosteed Corgi, but a clear difference. Low viscosity lubricants does not work well with washers but high viscosity lubricants like the silicon grease work well. You can sell the Sebenza at any time but I think it is worth trying.

I've owned kaweko pens for a long time. They're really good in terms of ink, writing experience, etc. where they really fall short is the construction. They break a lot easier than more premium pens, but thats how they make them affordable, and they're still a very good value pen.

I recently got the #2 S-biner to clip my keyring and Victorinox MiniChamp to my belt loop. I'm finding it a bit small and fiddly, do you have a particular size you would recommend for that sort of thing? I'm also waiting for an Olight I1R 2 Pro to arrive that will also go on this clip, so I'm wondering if I sized incorrectly.

Knives are VERY MUCH a "your mileage may vary" tool though, so ultimately, pick one that you love and you'll never be sorry carrying it. If I could recommend another premium knife to you, try a Vero if you can get your hands on one. They are my favorite knives, hands down. But you’ve convinced me to buy one when I sign my name on work letters. I’m always unhappy using any old pen to sign my name for some reason. So I’m trying the $20 pen you recommended. I totally agree re not needing to spend $12,000 to get an incredible watch. I have a handful of, gulp, Chinese clones that totally rock for the $$. But I just can’t get behind saying that a Tag, any Tag, gets you 99% of the way to a submariner. You are talking about comparing one of the most iconic watches in history with a Tag.

I have some benchmade (bugout, griptilian) and spyderco (para3 and para 3 lightweight) knives and this exact same model CRK small sebenza in s45vn steel. Its a totally different beast to other premium knives. Its not a knife that flicks open or is flashy in any sense. Instead it is just one of the best knifes in terms of value for money. Its an excellent design, built with phenomenal fit and finish and a top tier blade geometry. There are short documentaries on CZcams in which Chris Reeve talks about his approach. Watch it and you will not only keep the knife but also beat the living shit out of it.

Do you even use that sebenza? Mine is beat up already. Anyway, any spyderco or benchmade will do for everyone. As for watches, it's a fashion accessory, you don't buy a rawlecks because it's the ultimate tool, although it's that too. Btw you should wear it above the ulnar styloid, not so low on the wrist. The submariner is the most well known, and thus boring, watch in existence. As for pens, if you like the flow of fountain pens, get a lamy 2000 and be done with it. If you need a compact daily I'd recommend the gravitas pocket pen.
