Jerry calling the Bic president to ask why they made a hole in the pen's cap, sounds like a seinfeld episode
Something Kramer would do
So does starting a timer when a hostess says the table will be ready in 5 minutes. In fact I vaguely remember an entire episode that took place while they're waiting at a restaurant.
Or a standup routine. "What's the deal with Bic pens nowadays..."
Yeah, but I think that would be "Kramer" move on the show, or maybe a "George" move.
The kid that died went to my school, Billy Walker..really sweet kid
"The secret of life is to waste time in ways that you like." Thanks Seinfeld.
This is how he got to make the show
and it's true!
And that’s how I met your mother
That is a brilliant statement.
This!
I love the John Lennon quote - "If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then it wasn't time wasted"
No bee looks at another bee and asks; “why didn’t I get that job?”
-Jerry Seinfeld.
"How much does that bee make?" 🤣
Such kinds words, Jerry! Glad to see your backpack is holding up!
How many marble ryes will it hold?
send me a free one please
The check is in the mail, Jerry.
here today, patagonia tomorrow
Thanks Patagonia for caring about the earth, I
Love you.
"Why is almond forcing its way into everything??" just reads like a Seinfeld quote
I thought the very same thing.
wish he was funny
why are they forcing jerry seinfeld on us so much these days? hmmm.
Thats because it is a Seinfeld quote
really forcing seinfeld on us these days. hmmm.
"Make the greatest thing in the world, and still screw it up. - That's Italy." Actually quite a brilliant statement.
He was thinking of Ferrari when he said that, 100%
@@chicoktc agree.
Make the most ridiculous, useless thing in the world and make a fortune. That’s America.
It does not ever happen, that I listen to Jerry Seinfeld speak, without learning something. I love learning new viewpoints, delivered by Jerry.
'Quality is remembered long after price is forgotten'
When I bought my first leather jacket. I divided the price by the numbers of days I would have to wear it to make it seem inexpensive.
@@bngr_bngr yes & you probably still have it
I feel this way about my Nespresso machine.
Profound 😊
Well said!
Jerry out here actually thinking about the Roman Empire every night.
this exactly^
😂
I mean I do too
Most fasc ists do, and Zion ists are exactly that
He's one of us!
When he brought out the Bialetti Moka pot I was sold. It justified everything else in the list. I love "wasting" the time to make coffee with my moka pot. Best coffee.
100%. I have 3 diff sized Moka pots. I use at least 1 a day, sometimes 2. Funny thing was that I made one, grabbed a pastry and sat down for a break and ended up watching this episode. I love how fiddly the Moka pot is! It's my preferred way to brew (read: waste time). Cheers!
This is the first one of these videos that actually showed essentials. Love Jerry for always seeming like a guy who happens to also be rich. Relatable, always.
quintessence
"whats wrong with the backpack you have?"
"Spite."
I see what you did there :D
"We can't sell you another one based purely on spite"
"Okay, then I just want another one"
"No, you already said spite"
😆
We’re impressed, Jerry! Thanks for sharing our story about the iconic (and “quintessential”) BIC Cristal Pen. We created this pen with a vision for people to express their creativity just like you have. We're still bringing simplicity, joy and creativity to people every day! Not running out of ink anytime soon. 😉
im going to touch you
Bro stop tweakin
Bic what do you think of uni-ball pens
Hello people of the bic brand, your lighters are amazing
What did you think about the last 30 seconds of this video though?
I was amazed at how huge of an impact the bic pen had on the world. First ball point that actually worked. Before this writing was done w expensive quills or messy fountain pens. Once an affordable, reliable pen became available literacy rates world wide more than tripled. In no small part to this amazing invention....Although i think out of the BILLIONS of people who have used them, jerry is the only person to use all the ink wo losing the pen. 😂
Remember the jacket with the pink striped lining? "I paid what it cost." That was an essential item. Ruined by Elaine's scary dad, insisting Jerry had to wear it with the suede side out. And it was snowing.
Master of the house...😂
@@petergmred2005 Hahaha!
I could listen to Jerry talk about the nuance of life for days. He’s just a brilliant human.
Thank you Jerry for all the laughs!!
Whats the deal with Quintessence
😂😂😂 literally
Comedy!
I also want to know more
I’m dying 😂😂😂
"I want my objects to be 'perfectly themself'"
"Anyway, check out these sneakers with shock absorbers"
No Space Pen? Take the pen!
I can't! I can't!....Are you sure!!?
Do me a favor and take it, take the pen.
I just found my Space Pen in time for this episode.
That’s the first thing I thought about when Jerry talked about the pen😄
Jack Klompus...where r u?
I love how laid back he is.
He seems like a happy person.
You would be too.
Google that man's net worth.
@@UniverseofDominionThat dint help Robin Williams, Chester Bennington. Actually money stops impacting happiness after $110k/year.
@@fortuneltd3591 Nah, i'm pretty positive is way over those $110K you mention.
i should hope so lmao
So happy to see Seinfeld lean into recent interviews like never before. He’s on 🔥
calling the head of a major company to complain is the most seinfled thing to do, crazy flex
Also the most Steve Jobs thing to do. He should've starred on Seinfeld or Curb.
1 dollar pen and a 10k watch. lol I appreciate his taste for quality cars and products but also how he can be simple with what works.
He wore Breitling watches all through the Seinfeld episodes. He really has a thing for Breitling.
$10k is a lot of money but as far as nice watches go and considering he’s a billionaire, that’s actually really modest.
22k watch
$10,000 really isn't that much for a billionaire.
@@okkcomputer $11,895 USD on Breitling's website.
"Unfrosted" is very funny! An entire movie about Pop-Tarts? A true escape!
❤
The Patagonia backpack looks like it has a face thinking „Jeez, how many times have I heard this story?!“
Just when we thought Seinfeld couldn’t get any Seinfeldier
Seinfeld now, Seinfeldier later.
Yeah remember the episode where they proclaim their love for Israel like in the last 30 seconds of this video? That one was the best!
Israel exists rent free in your head and it's hilarious
You could say he's the quintessent Seinfeld
when he said "the executive" all I heard was his dad on the show talking about that raincoat.. the executive
Marcus Aurelius' Meditations is one of the things that sparked Stoicism. If you don't know what that is let me sum it up. Self improvement over everything including comfort while learning to embrace the suck.
I wonder if Jerry watched the movie “The Holdovers”. Meditations by Marcus Aurelius is the book that Paul Giamatti gave as a Christmas present to his two fellow co-stars.
That book makes u realise very little really matters.
I 100% agree with him on the quality. The older I get in my life (45 now) the more I realize you save money (and time), and your life is so much better when you purchase quality items. For example, I used to buy $200 BBQs every other year. They had all the side burners, and "sizzle zone" blah blah but I had to buy a new one every two years. Then about 6-7 years ago I spend about $600 on a no frills Napoleon (great quality) and it cooks 100X better and is showing zero signs of slowing down after 7 years. Just one example but you get the idea. If you are in your 20s reading this, take this lesson. Thank me in 10 years:)
Very nice
I have never heard of a Napoleon grill but you have me intrigued after your well written comment, that gets an A+ in my book.
ill thank you for the knowledge now. thanks
But some things you spend a lot on, and then your life or needs or tastes change, but you spent so much you feel like you can’t get rid of it.
5 dollar special
Homemade concrete
Outdoor grill
Tasty food for lunch
Haiku
If this was anyone else, I would think he's being 100% sarcastic, but he's so quirky and brilliant I believe him...this list is great.
Jerry is the best! This makes me like him even more. Can totally relate to why he likes the things he does.
You earned a "like" with Meditations of Marcus Aurelius.
Jerry is proof that real comedians find humor in everything, even the fact that he wears shoes that people make fun of on purpose because he likes it is hilarious. One of the funniest minds on the planet
Love him! At 70 years young he probably still scratches off 32 and puts 31
He looks amazing for 70! 👏👏✋✋
and he probably still dates 17!
Gilbert Gottfried did the best Sienfeld impression. RIP Gilbert
12:51 i totally agree! living somewhere with all the seasons is amazing.. you get it all
11:46 I’ll tell you. He wears a 32 waist but changes the tag to say 31.
Waist 33 it looked like on this pair in particular! Length: unknown
Well at least he didn't stoop low as to get a womans number off an AIDS walk list
That was 25 years ago, I’m sure it’s more like 33/34 now
And what does it matter?
He's out there laughing at you
...rightly so.
Oh how could he be so vain?
"Remember that Episode". The amount of times i say this in everyday life referring to Seinfeld.
Jerry is quintessentially Seinfeld. 🙌
LOL 👍
3:11 I thought I was the only crazy one.
LOOOOOOOVE finishing my pens. It's joy. Lol
Jerry and my Mother are the only two people I know who have managed to finish the ink of their pens. Both are heroes of mine. 💕
Jerry seems to have excellent taste in things, whether it’s comedy or cars or objects… he has a real appreciation and understanding of what makes things/people interesting or not interesting, which seems to be a big part of his success.
Great video to watch 👍
He is a keen observer of the smallest detail. I can relate.
This is the Jerriest interview
Wow, makes you realize how much he and his character are ONE
Love ☺️
Seinfeld could not have been played by or written for anyone else. Love Jerry!
"The key to life is wasting time doing things you like." That is actually great advice 👍🏻
Absolutely perfect person for the perfect segment! He’s so obsessed about everyday things and every little nuance, and usually we see the odd little things or the things he doesn’t like, (bc they’re funnier), but here we see the more rare things that he absolutely loves! All of the specific little nuances he cares about so deeply are channeled positively here! So much quintessence in this video!
Quintessentially said!
He goes and makes this, basically a commercial for all these items. Millions of dollars worth of free endorsements. These companies couldn't pay him enough to do this and he just did it because he felt like it... how cool is that?
When Jerry talks about any subject it automatically takes me back to the sitcom. It brought me many, many laughs!
Jerry is so cool and funny, his show basically taught me how to speak english back in high school in Costa Rica, I loved it and would watch it all the time. My favorite character is Elaine.
With Jerry still sporting those particular Nike Shox, he might just be a style icon.
2:11 'They don't want you to ever want another one.' LOVE patagonia!❤
The President of Bic is named Bruno Bic. This pleases me. FYI: The Cosmonaute watch costs $22,000.
Can you buy me one
There are many other 24 hr face watches. Try Glycine. Or singel hand watches. Try Botta
And your point is???? It was about the only thing he shows that is somewhat expensive….check out his net worth.
@@totallyrandom1126 My point was that the watch is very expensive, and that was interesting. Pretty much everybody knows Jerry and Larry David are basically billionaires, and the context was "hey guys, this this is how much the richest comic ever spends on watches!" The subtext was that because he's worth $800 million, the fact his watch "only" cost that much means it must be truly high quality. You, sir/madam, are projecting.
@@ninjachannel007 ????? Thanks for the analysis….
2:14 I still remember one of the Seinfeld episodes about the Pilot where George complains to Jerry, "BICs? What'd you get BICs?" 😆
"To be creative you want to feel like you're getting away with something" is GOLD
Jerry is truly a Living Legend. Even in his conversations, the dialogue is funny and light-hearted. Legends always stay true to their craft.❤ Much love and respect, thank you for all the years of laughs.
he always always talks sense. My kind of guy, we need more
He made a one hour interview with Graham Bensinger, pure gold.
Jerry is a clean funny comic your whole family can enjoy. I'm 32 and grew up watching Seinfeld
Kramer will want to get his hands on some of these items
The Meditations! Yes Jerry, one of my favorite books!
Been a fan of Jerry for a while and that caught me off guard. Made me like him a lot more!
This literally makes me want to go out and buy everything on his list.
Mee too! Except for the Bic pins...I've moved on to Muji Gel pens!
When I was younger I bought the White Vince Carter edition Nike Shox and I was very proud of those shoes. They were not only comfortable, but unique and looked great
Such an incredible person, brings joy to every part of life
Seinfeld was MUST SEE TV before the internet.
Still an awesome guy.
This guy popularized normcore. He is a style icon.
Not really. Norm core was everywhere in the 90s. I don't think young people who dress like it's 1994 know who Seinfeld is.
normcore, what a cringey way to describe anything
Any word followed by core@@trembling3674
The word Normcore just reminds me of that tragedy.
@@TubbyBrewster11 It would gratify me a lot if that could be the 4th comment in the thread but 2nd in likes. May he RIP.
Just watched 'Unfrosted' yesterday and I loved it. It's like watching a classic cartoon with live actors. Keep 'em comin', Mr. Seinfeld Sir!
Jerry: "This coffee maker is really complicated."
Every Hispanic ever: "Yeah, sure, Jer..."
Hahahahahaha yes, that was funny 🤣🤣🤣
Jerry is his own brand of genius. I love hearing him talk about everything and nothing.
Didn't know geniuses dated 17 year-olds when they're 38.
@@VitaKet How is that relevant
....And, he talked well about "nothing" for nine seasons.
@VitaKet what I find funny is that people go around to every comments section of a video involving Jerry just to try to defame him, and it never works. Go make your bed
@@VitaKet then you don’t know much about history lol
Jerry's description of writing with a pen is underrated genius
Whatever works. For me, I hate hand writing ANYTHING. I started using a typewriter in high school, then got into IT and never looked back after discovering the word processor, and now email. Not a chance I would ever hand write a script. I like to go back and correct mistakes or make changes - instantly, plus, my hand writing is illegible.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH i think they're not mutually exclusive. i write lots of Copy or Business letters via keyboard but Journal, Diary or write Letters, Lyrics, Poems by hand.
I make minimum wage, but I like to spend my money on items that will last. Two questions, do I love it? Will it last?
"make the best thing in the world and still screw it up"
Cries in Ferrari F1 noises
That last question was definitely not in the script.
that was awkward
@@jonathankittrell170why?
@@jonathankittrell170 Unfortunately, in today's climate, what Jerry said at the end of the video re Israel was awesome and courageous! I salute Jerry for saying it and not asking the director to cut that part out.
@@christophermoore2986 Why was it awesome or courageous? Because the Israeli govt has murdered tens of thousands of women and children on purpose?
@@christophermoore2986 Expression of feeling close to the people in whose name and on whose behalf over 13,000 (and counting) children have been brutally butchered, "awesome and courageous" indeed.
I agree about the four seasons. I'm currently living in a place that has only one season and it definitely has an effect on people - perhaps making them less robust and more complacent.
You've gotta experience the cold to appreciate the heat and vice versa.
same. to most people the weather here is ''ideal,'' but because every day is warm there's a lot less excitement about it. and I really do miss snuggling up inside watching the snow fall, or smelling everything suddenly in bloom in the spring
Propecia?
I’m up in Canada and our temperature swings are wild. -50F in winter to 100+F in summer. It’s harsh but it definitely builds character.
@@displaychickenGood way of putting that!
I agree. The 4 seasons is the way it's supposed to be. Trust me, Florida sucks.
Love him, one of my most favorite actors and comedians of the US
Best essentials Ep ever. I’d assume Jerry would think this is a trivial task but it’s well thought out.
I think Jerry would have made a terrific engineer.
Plane crashes.......Jerry watching off in the distance : "That's a shame"
Maybe not, engineers needs to be practical, you need to fix qualiywirh price.
Jerry Always had STYLE SINCE THE 90s not surprised He Got The SHOX’s & he got the R4s & Patagonia The SHOX’s Are Trending R4’s,XT’s,& TL’s he always been ahead
I was wondering when the bee movie would come up 10:42 😂
Don't forget the Junior Mints, they're very refreshing.
What can’t all essential episodes be this genuine
Jerry is a grown up child who happens to be a genius
That's what I was thinking, when he was spinning his Mets cap.
We are all grown up children. That’s the way being an adult happens
Kid minus the genius part
a grown up child who enjoyed dating actual children! he’s gross.
@kimjongillin7298 True he dated 16 year Olds when he was in his late 30s early 40s
Thisfeels like watching a whole episode of Seinfeld. Caring about quality, sustainability and little things is what makes jerry special.
"The secret of life is to waste time in way that you like." I absolutely love it. Exactly what I do.
I can tell Seinfeld loves gadgets but not in a cool kid way, but more for their utility and workmanship.
I believe the book on perfect stuff to be 'Quintessence: The Quality of Having It.' It came out in the 80s, not the 70s as he said, but it fits the bill otherwise.
I've always liked Jerry's philosophies on life and things. This is a great example. I'm getting the Marcus Aurelius book.
Today, I sit on the precipice of my 37th birthday. Now birthdays made me feel older. Hearing Jerry talk about “what’d you do with all the time you saved” when you’re in heaven. . . that hit deep
Aw! You've got you're whole life ahead of you. You're just getting started. Slow down and make time to enjoy and appreciate the simple stuff. Big things don't matter, it's the little every day things we miss when they're gone.
Surprisingly fun & educational! I'm glad this is here for us to see.....BTW I cannot recommend Bialetti Moka enough. Been using one for decades. ☕
He is is too a style icon, I haven't stopped wearing puff shirts since the mid-90's.
I love writing with pen and paper too. Whether it's a recipe or my feeble attempts at writing the occasional short story. How cool Jerry can finish a pen! I'll always lose it/gets 'borrowed' before it's done.
Forgot how much I loved Jerry!
"How can anybody not like him???"
Gotta love the Sein….
I MEAN WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THIS SEINFELD GUY... ALWAYS TALKING AND STUFF!!! I MEAN WHERE DOES HE GET THIS STUFF!!!
@@Leonrey-ic1whFrom Larry David.
"why is almond trying to force its way into everything" hahaha sounded like he was starting a bit
i couldn't wait for 'unfrosted' to come out and watched it when it did, immediately. LOVED every second! i made a 'sugar frosted flakes' commercial in high school with farrah facett. random. anyway, i've been watching 'seinfeld' rerun clips for days. Love you forever.
The bit about saving time is hilarious. Jerry is a real comedian for sure.
Like he's ever going to wait for a table at any restaurant
We all saw it on his first season of "Seinfeld."
Seinfeld is probably one of the few rich people who would happily wait for a table, mostly because of the potential stand-up/sitcom comedy material it would provide. I mean, just look 'The Chinese Restaurant'.
Only for 5 mins.
Would love to see an episode involving George Costanza and the new Bic pens with the Mets organization
I was kind of hoping he had a pen that wrote upside down
This should’ve been 17 things Seinfeld can live without. Look up Jerry Seinfeld 17
I love his storytelling abilities.
First class legend! 👑👑👑
Billionare who uses the same backpack for 15 years straight? Thats commendable!
Invest in quality not fast fashion.
His bag handler was very careful
Not really, because any guy can wear his underwear or his t-shirts until they're in shreds.
To be fair he also has a bazillion cars.
@@jd42305 ....A bazillion Porsches.
I just finished a box of pens. I wrote the date on the box when I opened it to see how long it would last. Turns out just under 4 years. Very satisfying.
As crazy as it might sound Mr Seinfeld, you are not the only one who uses legal yellow pads and finishes pens. I’m currently in college and I do about 5 hours of math per day and I have finished pens 🖊️ myself. So now at least I know there is two of us 😂
