Trini Hot Cross Buns ( NO FRUITS ) Soft & Fluffy| Step by Step - Episode 976

- 350 Deg F for 20 mins 40 mins was to long.
Time to raise 30 mins then 15 mins for the balls.
This makes 12.
Knead for 5 mins until smooth.
Pan - 9x13
3 cups AP flour sifted and packed into the cup.
1 cup warm whole milk ska stayfresh
1/4 tsp salt
5 tbsp. melted butter
1 Large egg - optional no substitute needed
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp mixed essence
1/3 cup sugar
2 1/2 tsp yeast
Pinch of yellow food coloring- optional
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cinnamon

For the syrup
2 tbsp water
3 tbsp sugar
boil until thick

1 cup icing sugar
2 tsp milk

You are so right ,this recipe was a disaster,that's too much milk . I had to keep adding flour so it was tasteless and floury

My 11 year old daughter made these and they were fabulous! Soft and yummy, and they were all gone in less than 24 hours! You really didn't miss the fruits in it! We are making this our Easter tradition!

I haven’t had these in years. Great recipe, I added raisins, my grandkids ate them alllll. Excellent step by step instructions.
I made these yesterday and today they were extremely soft and light. I used about an extra 2/3 cups of flour for dusting and kneading but I was still sticky so I oiled my hands and brought the dough to a smooth ball. For my glaze I substituted the water with unsweetened Trinidad orange juice that comes in a can.
Tried this.. this is perfect for the kids.. mind you .. kids are 22 nd 25... they loved it.. amazing recipe... ur recipes are all delish and easy to follow..thnk u..

Thank you my buns came out perfect ... I needed to add a little more flour but that will vary depending on the size egg used I guess....I also added fruits 😁... The icing needed a little more milk to be workable. But this is the best recipe on youtube. Thank you ma'am.

I tried the Hot Cross Buns, I used cranberries. The dough needed a little more flour, and the a little more milk in the icing sugar other than that it was wonderful very delicious.😋
