The defendants say the son in question isn't allowed to have access to the phone. Besides, they accidentally ran over the phone - they didn't destroy it on purpose.

You can restrict internet access on an iPhone. I manage my kids screen time and internet is paused on their electronics at bedtime. Parents need to take the time to learn about parental control features if they insist on their kids having smart devices.

After that, you need a password (which only I have) to unlock the device. I have it set up to where I see all apps downloaded, and ALL purchases must be approved by me first.

Step parents aren't there just for decoration, and children should respect their authority, just as they should with others who regularly discipline "someone else's child" such as school teachers, police officers, bosses, etc. And from the sound of it, this child needs all the discipline he can get...did you not hear the predicament he's in because of his mother's lackluster approach to discipline? Dad and step mom seem controlling so it could have been as simple as that. They might have put him in the program as a ways to control him. The mom might be against it. Also people if you are still paying 50-60 dollars for one line that is crazy! I have Visible service and it comes with unlimited text, data, and hotspot for $25 a month. You can even buy old or the newest phone from them or they will send you out a SIM card to put in your current phone. I’ve been with Visible for 7 years now they have great service.

The child clearly needs his father and stepmom who interfere on his behalf. While I do believe they ran over the phone on purpose, my opinion is they did what was clearly needed for a child has issues.

Destroying the phone was WAY beyond what should have been done. They should have just taken it from him, turned it off, and put it in a safe place until his mom picked him up.

The son obviously has some sort of serious issues and if he is looking at sites, obviously serious illegal things. He shouldn't have a phone with internet access at all. People acting like she can't go in a room in their house, just bc it's a teenagers room it doesn't mean she can't go in that room. That teenager is still a kid, that's in serious trouble, there is no privacy or anything in a parents house.
