- The plaintiff brings his daughter’s stepfather to court. He says the defendant backed his car into his car and caused major damage, so he’s suing. The defendant argues he agreed to fix the damage that he caused, but the plaintiff wants him to fix every little detail, which he refuses to do. He’s countersuing for defamation.

This little girl is very lucky to have not 1, but 2 loving fathers in her life. I didn't have even one at her age, and the pain at 41 is still there. I hope she realizes this.

No lie my dad had a stroke a few years ago so I decided to forgive him and take care of him and we have been through such a roller coaster but God has blessed me so much and I don't regret caring for him

Sounds like both men are doing an awesome job raising the child, the issue was the amount owed for damages & not their relationship status. There was no shouting or arguing back & forth, the defendant didn't bad mouth the plaintiff's parental skills, the plaintiff didn't say anything bad about the defendant's parenting skills. They both showed up to court because they disagreed on the amount owed for damages, good job to Both men for being such great dads.

JM is correct. There's more going on between these men - mainly that the plaintiff is probably jealous of the close relationship she has with her stepdad.

I was lucky. I grew up with my mom & stepdad, dad & stepmom all being bffs. Camping, get-togethers, bon fires. It was great! There wasnt any animosity between any of them. ❤❤❤

All the defendant had to do was provide the information. The plaintiff asked for it a few times at the beginning of this situation and when he finally did get it, it was not legible. The defendant forced the plaintiff's hand. if I was the plaintiff, i'd be upset too

His hesitation to pay is understandable when dad was being petty trying to get stepdad/insurance to pay for all the damage when he knows good & well his daughter had previously caused serious damage to the car by baking into a fence post.

First, the defendant caused all this himself. Just file a insurance claim and be done. He never really explained why he didn't have the car fixed. He didn't want to file a claim because his rates would have been sky high after
Second, I would never and most of you wouldn't either have your 16 year old accept delivery of a car that had been fixed by a body shop. There's a ton of stuff that could still be wrong.
Third, the mom has to do better. Clearly they both care about the daughter so at some point they need to come together. If there was an issue between the men the mom should be the one to tamper down the hostility between them.
His insurance wouldn’t pay because it wasn’t a car accident. He swung a tire into her car. He explained that.

Being in the Tire Business for over 35 yrs, not sure the size of the tire, example:11X24.5 tire can total a car. His homeowners insurance should have payed out because he wasn’t behind the wheel when this occurred.

The plaintiff seems like a really awesome father and the daughter seems like a really awesome daughter. Its very likely that prior to the show he had told the producers he needs the hat on for medical or religious purposes so the judge already had it in her notes that he needs the hat on. So all she asked for was he adjust it so she can see his eyes. if you watch previous litigants with hats she DOES ask them to take off or she asks if the hat is for religious purposes

She’s 16, she can drive a car to the body shop and drop it off. I’m not saying to get an estimate but she is growing up, her mom should have gone with her but this is part of it.

Call me old fashioned. I'm totally against wearing hats indoors & wearing a hat in a Real court of law is a definite No! No! But I have to say... THAT IS ONE SHARP HAT! This case would've been settled out of court if the plaintiff presented a reasonable amount for damages, he was asking for way too much. Both seem like good guy's.

@Joyislove1221 the mam literally had a hard attack 2 weeks after this happened. Dad made it difficult and complicated everything. The car was drivable. The issue was what bio dad was trying to make him pay and the trouble he was stirring up.
