  • I play a Magic: the Gathering Online Modern league with the deck that won the Modern Pro Tour- Bant Nadu. Nadu, Winged Wisdom is likely to be the next card banned in Modern, as it combos with Shuko for absurd value. Springheart Nantuko and Bristly Bill, Spine Sower give the deck other strong angles of attack. This is Modern's best deck and the only tier 0 option in the format. It will be banned, so play it while you can!

suncleanser stops your opponent from gaining energy, so they can't as easily wipe you with wrath of the skies

As someone into modern, copying the pro tour deck here is a mistake, because online the win in this deck is too convoluted, the oracle is better. It is however, both infinite and deterministic. It involves looping all the lands in your deck with endurance and the land sac dude, then eventually you get enough mana to put springheart nantuko on endurance and now you can loop your lands, putting plants into play along the way. You then use the draw land + channel lands to destroy all their lands, bounce all their permanents before eventually passing the turn with 1 ring protection.

Wotc didnt want to target Nadu with the ban hammer because it gave the Nadu player too much value

You missed part of the most obnoxious gameplay loop. If you have most of your deck in hand/lands in play you can loop for infinite mana, landfall, otawara bounce, boseiju removal. Only advisable in paper:
    1. float mana, sacrifice lands to safekeeper
    2. Put grave/lands back into library with endurance (full price)
    3. Bestow nantuko on endurance.
    4. Loop lands from deck, sometimes pay for endurance for infinite Mana.
    5. Limit your land loop to just otawara/boseiju, draw those with horizon lands and resume the loop.
    6. Bounce all non- lands, boseiju all non-basics and if needed pass turn to attack next turn.

This deck reminds me of the days of eggs. Someone playing solitaire for 30 minutes that's really resilient

Well the finish isn't actually fair you have some weird endurance + sylvan safe keeper + nantuko bestow loops

If you want to play Nadu online I really recommend an Oracle in the deck, the infinite Endurance loops this list relies on to win aren't really viable on Magic Online (although you'll still win a lot of games if you just go wide with a full grip of cards and swing next turn)

    Couple notes:
Suncleanser is for opposing Energy decks. Those are pretty popular, especially the Boros Midrange list with Amulet, Raptor, Discharge, and Guide of Souls.
One thing you never used the Nantuko for was Bestow. Even if you aren't using it to copy creatures, bestowing it on something helps insulate it from targeted removal,. especially Bowmasters. Humorously, you can even Bestow it onto an opposing creature! The copying ability can be used with Endurance to create some pretty absurd lines - draw your entire deck with Nadu, then Nantuko on an Endurance. Sac some lands to Sylvan Safekeeper, copy Endurance to shuffle in the sacrificed lands and you can then use Nadu triggers to draw those lands and put them back into play, generating more tokens to target with Nadu and more mana to do it again. The 4-color lists would include some Orcish Bowmasters, and you'd Nantuko on one of those as part of this loop to make enough pings to kill your opponent, but in this list you can also just use it to cycle back and forth between One Rings forever if for whatever reason you need to stall out the opponent (through their own One Ring, maybe?)

    @astronautlevel Před 20 dny +4

This isn't viable to do on MTGO but in paper, you can set up infinite loops using combinations of The One Ring, Endurance, Springheart Nantuko's bestow mode to copy endurance, Sylvan Safekeeper, and Otawara/Boseiju to empty your deck and then remove every single permanent your opponent controls by looping otawara and boseiju infinitely before passing the turn back to them, which is what was done in the pro tour.

The goryo list of match 1 went x:0 in pro tour amsterdam. Goryo also went x:0 in pro tour lord of the rings. Both times the player lost all draft games. Thats why there is less talk about it happening no top places.

1:03:24 you should always bestow the wall right? Hedges against a board wipe and you can pay 2 to make a clone if desired.

@@michaschulz5182 My play group said the same thing. While not as fast, Shuko will be replaced with Umbral Mantle or Lightning Greaves. Two of them said they might just ban Urza's Saga in Modern. I don't think that will happen though.

Copying the protour deck is a mistake here, this deck is built for paper and playing it on Mtgo you need the Orical because you wont have time to Endurancew loop though your deck several times for a kill.
