I wish all of y'all a wonderful time in the Beta! Please check it out, and test YOUR favorite healer! I was not sure to do a Healer Video, since there are more qualified players out there judging Healer Performance! Gameplay & Class Fantasy was on my agenda in this video, and just reflects my personal opinion!
"some players will not be brought into..." Hello resto shamen! 😭
Ah, after your tank video I have been waiting for this!! I understand this isn't a super in depth look into each hero spec and that as other comments have said, the actual efficacy of each hero spec may be different in live gameplay once new talent setups have been worked out and all the tools of each class are used more effectively by people who main the classes (specifically referring to the resto shaman segment here), but it's neat to get a rough idea of how they may play through this video :) ty for posting!
I really enjoyed this video. Alot of insights through propper testing. GJ earned a 👍🏽 and a sub.
voidweaver seems so good I cant wait to actually try it myself
Thanks alot for the update on Hero-Trees.
As a former H Pally from back in SL to now converted RDruid, I really appreciate how they changed up how Resto dmg feels.
The biggest turn down for me when it comes to Drood was how awkward the Shapeshifting to deal dmg feels (Gimme a dollar for everytime I went kitty with Heart of the Wild only for someone to get backhanded by avoidable dmg lmfao), which they compeltly fixed.
Now I am really torn between the H Pally comeback and continuing Drood.
Might decide it on wether Blizzards deletes a few buttons from H Pally and tunes the rest to actually have any form of feelable impact.
You should always take your piece of every cake! Life is too short to decide between two things that bring you joy! Warbands will (most likely) allow you to send Crest's to your Alts, so your Main character will be able to help on your Alts. Just play both, dont choose just one! Have fun!
Your the first kitty weaving rdruid I've seen do content on the wild build. Hopefully it's really good, I love kitty weaving hit 2863 io doing it in shadowlands
Great video, I feel like the only Holy Paladin that's excited for lightsmith lol
You are not alone brother. It will be awesome imo.
My main resto sham getting shafted yet again, how surprising (not)
Great Video. Have you given Melee Wings + Lightsmith a go? I can see how lightsmith does not work with shokadin, because shokadin seems more suited for herald.
Aawww man I gotta main resto druid again. Lol I love druid!
Druid main here and i am happy !
Thanks for this video, literally seen like zero content from TWW.
I really hope this doesn’t end up being the case.. One Hero Spec being better for Raid and one for Mythic, is BAD! They should BOTH be good for both, or else there is no choice and you’re stuck feeling bad about what you want to play.. just like with Covenants in Shadowlands, and look how that turned out. 😒
I do think this issue occurs due to the nature of different situations. If one Hero Class does not provide any damage output, it might not see any play in Mythic Dungeons, where healers are supposed to support with their damage aswell. And we are clearly not moving away from damage oriented healer in TWW
shaman didnt get any changes
when i buy base edition (50euro) i can play beta guys ? or i should buy epic edition to play it
Unless you are lucky and get a beta invite by Blizzard, you can also acquire one directly with the Epic Edition. You can compare all editions and their contents in the battle net shop!
Actually loved this video as a newer player coming into War Within, with that,
If I want to level an alt now to take to War Within as a healer, as a beginner, which would you recommend now that you've ran through these in the beta?
Appreciate it!
Hmmm... As a Newer Player, I would want you to play whatever you personally like! Just a reminder that other players often look for the Meta-Class for their dungeons, even if thats not justified. I always play the meta, and change my main every Season if needed. But I think that people should look for the player and not the class. I want you to be emotionally invested into your character, this will keep you playing the most. I am already playing a Resto Druid, and i will look closely into the Class Tuning over the next 3 months if I am going to change that.
tbf to the shaman test...that wasn't very good play, haha. No Earth Ele, lotta CD's unused, etc.
Agreed! As I said for the Druids at 14:55, I am also just a human and have not played all healers for an equal amount!
@@ScruffyGG I'm just a slime.
@TheRandomDude-qy1ev you got me there, I am actually a Potato (not even kidding)
I hate rotating abilities gaaawd...
Which one you had most fun with?
Oha, you are the first one asking me this, and I am not prepared for this question. As a Druid Main, i would say Wildstalker Druid. Otherwise, Archon Holy Priest, Voidweaver Disci Priest and Herald of the Sun Paladin
I get why as a content creator you'd want to do that video but A) there's nothing more scuffed than "testing" a healer on normal dungeons and B) assuming that you should keep old talent builds to make the new hero specs work is not a logical assumption to make. Taking soothing mist in a dungeon environment on a mistweaver for example is a bit silly. It's always been an awful button to press it was used for two seasons only because of overtuned talents that are either nerfed or removed in TWW and even back then it wasn't played in dungeon because the throughput was more than enough with fistweaving.
Man I remember when Soothing was the bread and butter of Mistweaving.. 😔
@@Sheriff_K soothing mist is clunky as F. It should be a passive effect applied after enveloping mist is cast or something like that it would make a lot more sense. The caster play style doesn't make sense as long as there's no ranged cast rotation possible on the spec.
The Overall test is for gameplay & class fantasy, not for output (even if sometimes refered to it)
You can check out the Mistweaver Tree on Wowhead. Your Tree has changed a lot, and free'd up a lot of points. The Idea is to skill into the Jade Serpent Statue, which continues channeling Soothing Mist on your target, instead of you. That doesnt mean you are going to use Soothing Mist, but i had to spent points somewhere.
@@ScruffyGG I'm pretty sure we will never talent into Jade Serpent Statue ever during the expansion in all honesty. It's the first time it was used in almost a decade in Dragonflight and it was used only because the soothing mist build was obscenely overtuned in raid (and mana wasn't so much an issue which allowed it to exist too). Sacrificing a GCD to re-apply the channel from the statue that often is never worth the very small HPs gain (which often times lead to overheal anyway since it doesn't swap target).
I also think that most people are heavily underestimating talents that didn't see a lot of play in Dragonflight because the soothing mist build was way overtuned. Talents like Tea of Serenity (and its counterpart) could work really well with the Master of Harmony tree. You could have 2 charge of Thunder focus Tea that each gives 2 stacks of the buff on activation + 2 free stacks from the Tea of Serenity (or the other) + the passive refreshing jade wind proc on it thanks to its rework. It's not unthinkable to spend rouhgly 75% of the time under the effects of thunder focus tea with all of this taken into account and essentially almost exclusively using Rising Sun Kick over Tiger Palm/Blackout Kick in single target/throughput situations.
And you mention class fantasy over throughput but when you talk about both specs for the Monk and the Paladin you clearly care mostly about the throughput (which is funny because I wouldn't be surprised if the Lightsmith Paladin spec ends up giving the biggest DPS gain of any healer spec by far similar to how augmentation was central to the meta when it was introduced).
@sombrego2260 I am orienting myself on a Mythic+ Talent Tree, rather than Raid Talents (because I was able to test dungeons, not raid). And yeah, the reason I glazed so hard about Lightsmith Paladin is because i literally fell from my chair when I looked into Lightsmith Prot Paladin (in the previous Tank video).
Talent Trees during testing were similar to the current Season, and adjusted if needed to reflect the changes. If Class Trees were changed (like Monks), I took the strongest output, instead of "remove snares when roll". Doesnt mean we have to use Soothing Mist, it just was the more obvious choice.
Is there any healer that DOESNT rely on damage? I hate it I hate it I hate it
It's not that healer rely on damage, it is the game that is just designed towards contribution. In Mythic Dungeons, you will have a lot of downtime as healer. There is not permanently heal needed, so there is no need to stand around AFK'ing. The same applies for Raids. Especially in higher Keys or higher Raids, the faster enemies die, the better it is for the group. Stuns & Interrupts will be used at some point, so your group runs out of utility to control the packs, therefore it is better if everything dies as fast as possible! This requires Contribution of all players, including the Healer
@@ScruffyGG but my understanding is, that some new specs are built around healing through dealing damage. Isn’t that correct?
Oh... naaah. Many Hero Classes provide output for damage/healing. As example, Ancestors for Shamans will mimic your abilities, that provides you with more heal (when it mimics your Heal Spells) but also damage (when it mimics your damage spells). Some Hero Classes have no impact in Damage, like the Totem Shaman, which would be not "good" in the current state of the Game Design.
Druid's Call of the Elder Druid talents give them some extra heal when damaging, but its more of a "making druids aware of their abilities" instead of shifting their healing towards damage
@@ScruffyGG thanks man, appreciate your feedback.
@@iTophhif you don’t like heals thru damage then play holy priest. Extremely strong in both season 4 and TWW and very fun and easy to learn.
Shaman needs help but whatever, i never change my main😢
I am sorry to all Shaman mains for me playing so poorly in this vid! But besides that, i think shooting a lot of Halos as a Priest seems/looks cooler than a Healing Rain :/
I'm playing with shaman right now and loving it. I do a good amount of dmg, and good amount of healing in dungeons and raids. In dungeons I love shammy because I have so many spells that help the team.. Stun totem, knockback, the best interrupt in the game. Every class has his problems... I didn't like to play a priest for example because I think I lack this things that I mentioned. Like, if i'm pugging I think I have more hands to control everything than with Priest on groups that don't interrupt and use CC. I have a Druid too but I really didn't enjoyed catform to do damage, for healing is awesome but I do less damage not using cat than the shammy...
I just think its a point of view and dont think the class is bad.
Meh... I wanna heal and not do damage -.-'
Give me heal checks and not some bs copy of FF14 where I have to spam damage 70% of my playtime...
Fair! But this is more of a topic for Dungeon/Raid design instead of class design. Healers just do not have to heal 100% of the time in Dungeons, and I most of the time as a Druid do not even have to heal myself thanks to my Treants. What else do I do in that time instead of damage? Check my Emails?
@@ScruffyGG It's both. If they design the healers to do damage, then they obviously won't design the dungeons/raids to have lot's (and proper) of heal checks.
What a clusterfuck retail has become.
Lol beta is currently runs like complete doo doo, so season 3 is gonna be when the game actually launches and works, yet again
It's annoying when you put huge pics of yourself over the gameplay im trying to watch..
Appreciate the feedback! Have to consider that next time!
Resto Shaman same old boring shit expansion after expansion, season after season, always boring to play and barely average in any other setting than stacked raid healing and even then it's easily matched by other specs who bring way more to the raid
meh boring
