5:20 I believe that you can UNLOCK transmog of any armor type (even if you're character can't wear it), but you can't necessarily USE it on your character if that character can't use that armor type. For example a Mage can unlock a Plate Transmog Appearance but can't use the appearance. But if you were to hop on a Warrior, you'd be able to use the appearance.
This makes sense.
This makes the most sense to me as my warrior could already unlock transmog for my paladin and vice versa
So start keeping soulbound items that drop off rares or from old raids even if they are the wrong armor type for the character. When TWW prepatch arrives you’ll unlock the appearance when you vendor the item.
Ok so any character can unlock an armor appearance, but only classes that use that type can transmog it. I still wish they'd make it so you can transmog any armor type you can equip. Like for example a paladin could transmog cloth or mail, but warlocks would still be stuck with cloth.
@@mirandelf I don’t know if that will necessarily be the case because you have already picked it up. I think the safest route is to wait until a month before TWW comes out and run through a whole bunch of stuff but not loot anything so that it goes to your mailbox. Then when the Pre Patch hits (at least I think this is when warbound transmog will begin) open all of the mail and theoretically you should get all the mog you farmed over the past month. At least I know another creator is doing this and seems like it should work.
Warband should allow you to go do dungeons with your alts (AI controlled), imagine seeing your alts next to you as you go into a dungeon.
I already do that as a multiboxer lol (legal way of course)
But imagine if you don’t play/have a healer… uh oh
this feature is existant in FFXIV since few years already...

I've wanted shared Reputation for decades
This is probably the one thing that this benefits the most. Every time I've thought of levelling an alt, the reputation system prevents me from doing it.

Shared bank across faction makes so much sense. I'll be honest, I've tried to roll alliance several times, and quickly realized that i had forgotten what a pain it is to start out broke, no bags, etc. This would mitigate that.

Yes and no. Amazed that they finally understand that taking something that WORKS from another game makes WoW better, not worse. Trust me when I say we are not amazed that they implement it. More annoyed that they havent done it sooner.
WoW and Blizzard used to have a reputation of seeing what other companies were doing then copying their homework while putting a Blizzard spin on it. They stopped doing it for a while, which is why it's amazing that they're starting to do that again.

I quit WoW long ago for GW2, but it's nice to see they actually learn from their competition.
GW2 has had this account wide system forever. Things are only locked to one character if absolutely necessary. Bank, achievements, currencies, etc. are all automatically shared. Because why wouldn't they be? There's just no reason not to.
It's one of the features I learned to appreciate so much, I couldn't go back to other MMOs without it. So I'm happy I may yet be able to try out WoW again.
Gw2 is superior. It fools casuals by making progression not tied to level. So their little fragile mind cant comprehend that despite being max level they are 10 years behind other players and they just relax and play the fucking game...
You are incorrect about transmog, cloth can only wear cloth, but cloth wearers can unlock plate transmog for your platewearers in your warband.
9:00 from what I understand, making Warbands took a lot of work in the background of the game. I think it's implied that, because of how the game was built up and added onto, making this sort of change wasn't a small undertaking.
This is definitely long overdue, but I'm glad we're finally getting it!
And they still won't simply do the GW2 Reagent Bank. It's so simple... it's right there... it's better than anything they've tried to come up with in the last 12 years. And they just won't copy/paste like they did to GW2 mounts in Dragonflight.

All completed quests will be shared among the warband or just some specific ones?
Reps is not all shared they said they most likely will add more older reps later but for the time being only the most recent rep is being share
From what I understand your characters will still have their individual gold amounts but you can deposit gold in the warband bank to share across toons.
will there be a difference between alliance and horde chars? if u play both fractions?
What I really like about Warbands is that it shows Blizzard isn't afraid to rewrite code from Vanilla that is outdated, same with Dragonriding and Cross-faction play. Most other developers don't ever touch legacy code because it might be too much of a hassle.
Blizzard definitely did not say that anyone can transmog any armor lol, restrictions on using transmogs are not going away. You can simply unlock the appearance regardless of what character you get it on. A mage can unlock plate appearances but can’t use them.
Will heritage gear for specific races be available to transmog on other races as well?
I keep trying to find out, but so far no luck - but then, maybe I should try to get into beta? - I want to know what happens if you're one toon is in a 10 step quest chain and are say 3 quests in; then you log in with another toon - it'll show the first 3 quests as done say, but you can still redo them if you like, something like that right? But how woudl you know where you are, without manually writing down which quests you were on and where oyu got them? Is there a shared quest log, account wide, so you can use any toon and just keep on going? or is the quest completion account wide, but progress quest log is still per-char? Woudl sort of suck that way .. I'd love to just flip between toosn any given hour/'day, and keep going, pick up where I left off
Warbands seem neat, but for me the Delves are what I am most interested in.
To complete the warband feature, I would really like to see cross-character queuing implemented. So any time a character is doing single player content (open world, delves, dungeon farm, crafting, etc) they can, at the same time, queue another character for say LFG or Solo Shuffle and Battlegrounds. This wouldn’t imbalance the game mechanically and only further respect the player’s time.
That is heavy, good idea, very good.
Keep in mind reputation isn’t fully shared. Whatever character has the most reputation with a given faction is what all characters will be able to benefit from. So for example, if a Paladin is max reputation with Valdrakken, your mage who is at just 2 reputation can buy max level faction rewards. However if your Paladin got to 14 reputation with Honor Hold and you logged into your mage to farm Honor Hold reputation, none of it would really count until the mage reached 14 as well.
This is confusing. Help me understand please. If I have a Mage who is exalted with the Valajar in Legion, will my priest be able to buy Valajar exalted items?
@@SirenRyan yes he will. But if your Mage was only revered with the Valajar, you could not use other characters to get it to exalted. They would have to get to honored and revered first, and surpass your mage for their rep to start counting - your account just recognizes your rep with whatever character is farthest ahead with a given faction. But multiple characters can’t farm rep for a faction together.
you can *learn* any mog regardless of armor type worn on the current toon you're on but that's it i think

I think its sad that the best feature of war within is that we get to play the game less
I quit the game over the leveling speed increases, the skipping of expansions not to mention the removal or progression skip on other activities such as professions or even making gold in of itself... The game is simply no longer made for people who want to play it, only for people who wanna get to the end of the latest small piece of it as quick as possible and then complain they have nothing to do.
You're wrong about the transmogs, a cloth wearer would unlock plate mogs if they pick it up [Soulbound] for a plate wearing character to make use of... the armor restrictions are still there so the clothie still can't use it.
And I wouldn’t want it that way. Having everyone wear every armor would start to look even more samey. I prefer the armor distinctions per class. Plenty of mog options available still

@Th3DutchZombi3 that's how it'll work. You basically unlock any appearance from items that becomes soulbound. Armor type restrictions remain the same.
What happens if you send something outside of warband? How does that work?
I was so happy when they announced the warband during the Blizzcon! I wanted things to be account-wide for SO many years. Easily one of the best feature they added in the game!
The next big thing that they could do imo is to make it available between different regions, or even better, make us be able to play with our friend from other regions.
Im curious about the reputation share, there are multiple through the game where you pick one or the other, does that mean all chars are now say exalted with the oracles?
99% sure its not applicable to many *old* reps, especially the grindy ones, but we'll see
They said they were going to do the old ones, but certain rep like the oracles would stay character specific. Reps that can be exalted and at war are another example.
Now all I need is a surname system for my warband family.
I don’t level alts to have fun with story, I level to be competent at class mechanics when I hit max level.
you say that mounts/pets/looms/transmogs are now all shared across warband as if that wasn't already all account shared for 10 years. This is just account wide reputation and some milder restrictions for getting transmogs, but oh give it a funny name and the wow playerbase goes crazy.

so nixxiom... if it shared reputation what happens to my argent dawn rep? i managed to get it 36/36k hated and i want to keep it like that but my other chars got better rep what happens with it now
They said they are skipping certain reps like that.
Are we also going to be able to do Horde/Alliance teams with friends?

Looks like ALL my characters will able to use my Hero of the Alliance title, instead of just the character I earned it on, and that sold the system for me immediately
6:45 This doesn't sound like a good idea, to be honest. Players are going to optimize the fun out of the game by calculating the couple most efficient zones and then everyone will get FOMO for not running those ones over and over again instead of doing different zones on every character.

What I and my guildies really didn't enjoy in DF was that they introduced raids one by one. And then by the end of the expansion, they reintroduced said raids as "awakened".
That's all fine.
But only one raid is awakened each week in a role.
They could've just awakened all the raids by the end of the season and let us choose what we wanted.
Also the awakened raids dropped season 4 gear.
They could've made it drop previous season gears with up to date item level and let us choose which one we wanted.
That way not everyone would be wearing the exact same set.
It doesn't even matter if they change the color of those gears because people are already drowning in transmogs.
More player freedom is almost always better.
I think Blizzard meant that if you are running your mage and a piece of plate shoulders drops even though you can't equip it you still unlock it for transmog instead of it being trash.
Let's hope this time, the new expansion delivers and we all got to have fun.
There are the toys to unlock all the flight paths for each expansion already for all your alts. Makes sense.

i started watching this guy in 2015 and coming back to one of his videos, he has not changed his appearance in the last 9 years and that is shocking.
I feel like the warband currency for playing the same queests should change a bit. Like, if u do the same quest, u get the currency, but if u do a quest u never did, u gain more, so that u can explore more zones and the world
I haven't played retail since WoD, but I still like watching content about it such as Nixxiom's.
The Cosby Suite crew didn't care about what the players wanted. Activision didn't matter that much. The Cosby guys wanted us to play the way they wanted to.
How big can your war band be? Right now I have 28 characters between levels 60 to 70 (half are at 70) across 4 servers and both factions

Not going to lie, I hate certain things being account wide, especially mounts and holiday achievements because I have no need to farm mounts for alts anymore and no reason to participate whatsoever in holiday events anymore.

You can now COLLECT any mog, (they need make this work for weapons too) but you can only WEAR the same armor type.
They are however making some things “cosmetics” so anyone can wear them.
I'm very curious, hope someone can answer this for me, years ago I got the main hand warglaive from Illidan on my priest, I've kept it ever since in the hope I can unlock it for my other characters. Does this mean that with this new system I can finally unlock the warglaive appearance for my other characters?

There's one thing I'm not hearing anyone really talking about yet... I'm curious what you're thoughts are on how you think Warbands will positively or negatively affect the economy considering the realm (or connected realm) concept for the Auction House is effectively being minimized since you can now transfer items much easier between realms.
i thought it said if you a plate and get a cloth appearnce that one of you alts may look good in that you can get that apperance, dunno about equip would be cool. may bring some wild ass transmogs
I hope that all the original race's backgrounds (Dwarf's one in front of Ironforge, Orc's one on a rock in the middle of a battlefield, Undead's cemetary, etc..) from the characters selection screen gets converted to Warband backgrounds.
IMO, they should implement the warband into Classic.
Can warbands expand to include shared items across at least 4 accounts? I feel like it makes journeys with friends more like Baldur’s gate 3 when you loot something and can send it to those in your warband.
Only thing that is missing is an "Account Name". A unique name that all your characters share, kinda like a last name. That way you can name your character ANY name you want and it won't be taken. And people could easily recognize who you are no matter what character you are on. Like a toggle to show only your "Account name" on raid or dungeon frames. Nixxiom could play any character from his account and it would just say "Nixxiom" on the raid frames.
Makes no sense, if someone else is named Nixxiom it would be impossible to distinguish between the two, unless you include the hashtag and number and that would look bad ingame, no need to fix something that is not broken

This ^ the amount of names I generated on fantasynamegenerators that I was sad about because I couldn't use both the first and last names. I'd also love the account name toggle too. That sounds like a rad idea and a simple implementation on Blizz's behalf.
Trading post, shared bank and gear with your alts, delvs, all this existed in ESO since ages in even a more advanced way.
I have an important question. Have blizzard made the start intro from vanilla to retail WoW, as well starting playthough like burning crusade all the way to war within? Not just time travel.
I actually wonder if warbands is laying the groundwork for a much more robust system (I hope so). I know a lot of people want housing but I think having a personal hub somewhere in game (maybe an instanced room in different city hubs) where you have all of your characters represented/have a physical warband bank/could decorate with skins, trophies and funiture would be really really cool. Hell, maybe the location of you🎉 band is a drop: Warbands represent an opportunity to explore some really cool ideas. Very much could be a system like camping in BG3.
For me to return they will have to make leveling challenging with greater rewards the harder it is. Like in DDO and now Lotro. Like blue items from the get go if you can handle it. In a party, epics. Same for all dungeons.
It should be that mobs get different skill sets. And it should be up to difficulty that only pros can handle.
but is the warband limited to 4 characters, or is warband just your whole server/account, but you can only see 4 of your fav alts on the main screen? cause after mop remix i now have a max level character of each class and i wanna keep them going lol
It’s for all of your characters. The warband “camp” visualization is just for show, literally.

one of the other things the warband gives is that for each max level toon you have, the more experience alts earn, so it gets easier the more toons you level
also with the equipment you can only collect other types of armor looks from any char in the war band you cannot use any type or armor on any class in tmog

Nope, the leveling is still there. So I have no idea why he opens the video like that.
But you will not have to redo reputations, campaigns, attunements and there might be some accountbound gear waiting for you at max level that brings you halfway towards your main in item level.
Guild Wars 2 has be doing all of this since it went live.
You can unlock xmog for all classes but you are still restricted to your class's armor type.
No...transmog is the other way around. If you get a plate item on your mage, you can't use the appearance on you mage, but it unlocks on your warrior.
the last step will be to alllow us to pug with our alts.
No plate can only be worn on plate wearing guys you can unlock it for them on any guy

Also broski, Blizzard is letting cloth find plate and add it to the transmog collection not equip it! vice versa on that as well
The only problem I had was doing the rep grind, cause it required doing dailies or other crap. I think wotlk and cata had it right with the tabards giving rep while dungeon grinding.
Hopefully the war and backgrounds have different idle animations. Like their shoulder be class ones that unlock. Like rogue sharpening its blades sitting down. A mage conjuring a magic ball or something cool like that
Noob here. So with the war band, I can create four different classes, but play on one and it levels them all up together? So my main character being a mage gets to level 70 my other three characters also are now level 70?

There's still the problem with time sink for flight paths that takes you roundabout to 5 other unnecessary location before landing at your final destination.
Why direct flights aren't a thing yet is so stupid.
I just had an idea, LMK what you guys think: What if you could group up with other characters from your warband to complete group content up to 5 man. Imagine if you could level up a group of alts and then do dungeons with them controlled by AI as NPCs. Almost like a take on Boulder’s Gate grouping, minus the strategy using each character. Thoughts?
So just follower dungeons but with your own characters, sounds like it wouldn't be to terrible of a thing to try and implement I just don't know if the playerbase who would actually care about that would be big enough. I also feel like the time/work investment to make the npc ai competent isn't worth blizzards time for the exact same reason, the engagement to time invested ratio would no be worth it. Blizzards existing ai would need a massive upgrade to even make it competent enough to do heroic lvls dungeons and even then it would probably need overtuned health and healing numbers.

Yo, I watched this like 3 times over, Out here messing around in mop remix. I remember being a warrior in booty bay Hovering over bandages every 30 sec trying to pull one mob at a time. Feels like a lifetime ago. And **THEIR JUST NOW HEARING US! Thought my complaining to my monitor was pointless, But it finally worked** *Every Single Expansion I'v Had atleast 1 of every toon Max lvl for all of them **-different servers-** Horde/Alliance* I've let myself get excited for 10 expansions so far, Surly this ones a winner! I'm more stoked about Hero talents then anything, but didn't realize how much I was missing until watching this video. GGs Thx for the info/rant
What if they added a warband xp share? That would be sick they could even have it give your warbound characters rested xp each time you gain xp on your main. I'd love that
You still have to level Alts individually though right can’t just have one character and then transfer levels to another like final fantasy can have all jobs or classes from one toon I guess

as a player who is a complete idiot i try level one of each class to max level. i got all classes on alliance at 70 but also 3 horde classes at 70 too. its gonna be great to have the warbands. i used crafting to level up in dragonflight so now having a warband reagents bank is gonna be amazing instead of constantly mailing all materials around. i usually wait until the last few months of an expansion to level all the classes but i did it at the start of dragonflight this time when i had got almost all of a patch complete to give me something to do instead of pointless grinding n burning out on playing. this is quite exciting for me. same for the cosmetics from raiding being able use 1 character to get all cosmetics earned. i got the paladin judgement helmet from onyxia on my mage which sucks cus i want it on my pally so i got it saved up until pre patch kicks in. im pure hyped for so much of this xpac for the warbands etc
We had half of it already, shared mounts , mogs, and Flight paths, maybe not at the start but when BFA hit they did implement it forsure so hearing you ask why they haven't made me confused. But it seems like they are going to make the game easier and I just hope the rewards from doing repeat quest on an alt aren't very good because there is definitely over 40 different ways to hit max level and with the way it's sounding people might stick with the repeat bc it will be familiar and give extra
Actually super surprising to hear this take from Nixxiom who I thought enjoyed the grind of classic so much that he liked the experience of doing things over and over again.
The only thing I don't like is that it's limited to four characters. I would prefer at least five or six.
Actually... I could see Blizzard eventually just making the Warband effect all characters on an account.
I thought the four characters thing was just the stuff on the login screen or whatever it is. Last I checked, at least. Maybe i'm wrong, i'll look further into it later lol
"warbands" is just blizzards word for account wide everything basically, so its not just 4, its all your characters. The four characters is just a cool login screen.
You need to read up a little bit more on the feature. I think it’ll make you happy.
They are already letting you unlock all armor types on 1 toon now in remix
I tried wow for 2 months in legion and one month in shadowlands but i had trouble with the absense of these systems (as well as making friends in game) But i just decided that i will give the game a go again and to be honest, these systems i see here in the video actually hype me up!
