I think the Morrvair deserves another tick mark for recovering itself.
Have one of the local fab guys make a custom flat deck bed, built not bought !
@@skippybuilt How about Rudy?
@@skippybuilt mat can build it his own darn self
Haha yes
@@skipjames8437 yeah, if Blue Steel can wait for 8 months.
Sub it out to FabRat Paul, he'll have it done in a coupla days 👍
Respect to Matt able to finish the job and show his wife some love while keeping cool over the broken morrvair. I love this channel
You stole the words right out of my mouth my man! Love this channel
Said it before and ill say it again, Matt could be my late fathers twin, not just in looks but also his 4x4 knowledge and life style.
I LOVE this channel, its good people, and the great memories it brings me. The adventures of Matt and the gang are like Sunday outings with my dad! I'm sure my dad is riding along with an excited smile when he can!
Good to see his wife is also being respected in this video. He's a very smart man ✌️
hes a criminal
Lizzie has proven herself to be an invaluable member of the team. I’m very impressed with the Morvair. It just keeps on ticking.
Matt is so patient with his team, I applaud that!!! Takes a true team leader to have patience
This video was full of surprises....the Morrvair broke on a recovery, Lizzie slipped and almost fell but she recovered herself smooth, Jamie gets a congratulatory kiss from Matt. And the recovery was finished and Lizzie went on a mission herself to recover the Morrvair. This video was amazing
You forgot the exceptional wrist strength of Lizzie..... Well the lads couldn't undo it!
And did Lizzie have an engagement ring on?
I missed the Lizzie slip
@@robertc1024 she is already married
I love the state of calmness Matt exhibits when stuff goes wrong.
yeah wish i was like that
I go quad riding and dirt bike riding alone 99% of the time. If Could not keep my cool in sketchy places, I would not be able to do what I do.
It's like his superpower.
it's because he has had a lot of practice ;)
@@utherlightbringer3868 Me too.....
How Matt can keep his cool, his smile, and his positive attitude through all of these is downright amazing. And that Morvair.....wow.
Lizzy has such a cheerful sprit, bless her. As a former industrial arts teacher, I love her open ness to becoming the best welder she can be in a traditional male trade - go girl!! Keep smilin' - the welding beads just keep getting better. Thanks Matt for developing the skills of this upbeat young woman - Bravo. Lizzy's lookin' good at SEMA with her hair down for a change.
You could see that Matt was using all of his focus and brain power trying to figure out how to effect this recovery, but was willing to stop and give his sweetheart a well deserved show of affection for accomplishing something she felt was difficult ❤️❤️❤️💋
What a fantastic and wholesome channel!
Yeah, for a second I think I sensed an aura of frustration around Matt this time, but he recovered quickly 🙂
It's what I love about this channel
See the radios.. it reminds me how back in the day Matt would always laugh at the idea of using the winch.
Now that he got one properly fitted and wired in.. almost every recovery is winched 🤣
Also love how Lizzy changes her act when she's "in charge" in front of the camera 🤪
Headsets might be more comfy while doing that work.
It’s so nice to see this crew work so hard to help so many people
Dennis, it is hard work but cashing those paychecks must be easy.
2:55 As soon as I saw it, I thought "No way that is in neutral!"
Great job of driving the Morrvair out!
Curious...if the transfer case is in 4L but the main transmission is in neutral, wouldn't it roll *kind of* OK? Or was it actually in gear, in both boxes?
Amazing that the camera person didn’t see that..
@@russelllewis9215 trans was in park, x-fer case was in 4-lo. if trans or x-fer case was in nuetral it would have rolled normal.
@@russelllewis9215 i think so too. if you look closely to the rear wheels, the right wheel goes in the forward direction, while the left wheel is spinning backwards. i think this means the differential is spinning, but its still in gear.
That's why you never trust the customer. at 2:37 Tom Tom said: he said it's already in neutral so I'm not gonna mess with that. I doubt that extra pull was what broke the knuckle. I bet it was already cracked and that just pushed it over. Better it happen there than on the highway.
Watching the Morrvair on that terrain with no tie rod is so painful, I'm 60% through the video and I keep thinking it's just going to destroy what remains of the steering system. I'm constantly amazed at Matt's skills and being able to drive a severely compromised vehicle over such rough terrain.
To be fair, his vehicles are always a little compromised anyway.
Talking of compromised - has there been any news on when the Bombi will be getting some work done? Fairly sure last year he said this year was the year for a huge overhaul...
@@nathansautodetail is low on gas the same as compromised? LOL
@@miker1448 🤣
@@dudleybaggerman9574 you sure about that? lizzy has made that same mistake. everyone does from time to time. you sound like a snob when talking about wheeling smarts. i'm pretty sure matt has plenty of wheeling smarts.
The Morrvair is a one of a kind and the best for it's purpose. As Matt says it is purpose built! It never ceases to amaze me at how well it performs even when it is broken!
Stay safe healthy and happy 👍
We don't need no stinkin tie rod! 😎 Amazing to see everyone coming together and keeping the positive attitudes the whole time! ✌
The whole thing snapped and he still was able to drive it out....while pulling another vehicle. That is true skill at its finest. I honestly think Matt is the best off roader I have ever watched. Even more I'd argue he's the best recovery guy out there.
I agree 💯
Certainly the most in control and thoughtful,he puts a few notable Australian 4wd `experts' to definite shame,no crash and bash driving without a solid reason, not showing off, just solving problems
The guy has 10 people come pull out 1 person every time...how is that good? He also tore up the trail and just left it.
its more like "abusing your stuff until it breaks and then abusing it more" lol but they have some $$$ now so it doesnt matter
All opinions.
That's how it's done, respond, don't just react when hardships come your way. You're not just a good boss Matt, you're a great leader. Thank you for demonstrating this to all of us.
Lizzy just keeps getting better and better. What an awesome young lady. She can weld, recover, dance, and is darn cute. Keep up the excellent work Lizzy
And she's married!!
Thank you Lizzie for that thorough explanation at the end of the video. You are a trooper!
This is why we all watch. Such a great team, such a great vibe between everyone. I always love the "we will get 'em out" attitude EVERY time. Thanks for the great videos I look forward to all the time!
Lizzy you could have your own CZcams channel. I'm blown away by all the things that you're capable of. Keep up the amazing work!
Amazing welder, takes a steady hand 🙃👍
she is on Instagram.
@@lrobie123 that's pretty cool, Ive never used instagram.
What a team!!! Mat is all under control and thinking, Tom Tom with the attitude, Lizzie cleaning up in the end, and Jamie with the Nav skills. I am thinking that Lizzie should have her own rescue vehicle pretty soon! That young lady can do anything, ride, weld, drive, dance - really just about anything!!
They need to build her sidekick next and make it recovery capable.
It’s always fun when Lizzie and Jamie are helping out. Love this video. ❤️🙏🙏👍👍🌟🌟🙏🙏❤️
Dont forget undoing that shackle! LOL
Well That was amazing, all the while dealing with the stress of SEMA and all that entailed. Things break but Matt's confidence in his crew is well placed. Great job all.
I have bee stuck many different ways. Dogs would run back to house when I got stuck. So good to see people recovered! Love you videos!!!
Just when we're used to thinking that Lizzy is a real life Wonder Woman and she makes us proud of her all over again! Good job ALL OF YOU! Many many kudos for the whole team! Big happy smiles here!

She did do a Trevor impression around 7:43
@@gregerisman211 I wasn’t going to mention it…..
From a safety standpoint, I wish Lizzy would leave the wedding ring at home when out working. Other than that, I could watch this and Rory's channel all day long. Superb content.
@@Rod-db8tt exactly. I’d hate to see her get hurt from it, either leave it at home or wear gloves, and by the way, you can’t wear gloves all the time.

Jamie has all the skills
Lizzie is awesome, I love her attitude and her absolute expert welding.
“That’s too much straightening” is the best line!!! Love you guys, love this content!!!
Love how side-tracked Matt gave Jamie a big smooch when he was otherwise still distracted by the Morvair steering issue. Great job, too, to Lizzie, who finished the rescue by rescuing the down but not out Morvair.
@9:10 Matt nearly makes Jamie’s knees buckle. I think thats called swooning. ❤😵💫
A true team effort on this one!
Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
I held my breath way too many times during this one! Amazing problem solving and resourcefulness, as usual!
I'm surprised how mature is Mad not complaining at all of the broken parts, that is strong leadership, partnering, and professionalism. Good video!
Can't really complain when you break it yourself, not that that stops anyone... 😁
I owned dumb trucks and when a drive shaft broke or something else I just took it all as just another day at work. Some days better then others. But all in a days work.
And sometimes up all night working on them so they would run the next day. 🥵
I mean he built the car and was driving it, he wouldn't have anyone to be mad at about it other than himself 😄 It's also just the nature of off-roading and heavily modified vehicles: Stuff breaks, you just fix it and move on. Also breakage = excuse to upgrade!
Lizzie is a joy to watch working and narrating !!
So thankful Ive been watching your videos! Had to help recover a chevy spark stuck in the sand here in El Paso, used things Ive learned from your videos (properly rated autozone tow rope, hooked to the hook end of a solid hitch (wish I had a pintle hitch and matts recovery rope, but all in due time), reverse no gas, slight initial tug to get out of the rut, and of course, DONT RUN OVER THE ROPE. Keep your amazing videos up, and in a way, thanks Matts Offroad for helping me to get them out!
Have been watching your videos for several months now and we are hooked 😃. My wife and I do off roading with our 4 runner but nothing like what you do.
Lizzy that slip almost turned into a fall! Glad you have fast reflexes.
I thought she was practicing her dance moves...
7:40
While it worked out fine this time, dad told me, if you are falling over, FALL. Bend your knees and don't try to catch yourself with your arms. Great way to break a wrist/arm/separate a shoulder. Just do what a drunk would do. Relax and flop. Worked for all of my 25 years of dirt bike racing too.
3:19 , Andrew Camarata would say that "it broke for no good reason" LOL 🤣🤣
Keep up the good work Lizzie. She is a amazing young lady. She can do anything. Keep up the good work.
Great video.
It’s really awesome seeing a young person learn and progress in her trade. Lizzy is cool.
I'm impressed with how good that build is that even though the knickle broke, it was still able to drive.
I am so proud of Lizzy I think she is a great leader and a natural. When she was talking about blue steel she made me realize the improvements she has made.
Meet everyone in person is on my bucket list especially Lizzy
Keep up the great work everyone
love watching!!! The team get's better and better with all aspects of the job. Lizzy....is a work horse! she can do everything. She should have her own jeep for recoveries with Matt's help in the build. Great job team!
I would highly recommend looking into Mits Alloy for a tray/flat bed situation for Blue Steel - high quality, looks great, very utilitarian! It’s an Australian company, they’re now also available in the US.
Also, major kudos for getting the Morrvair out of there and back to the shop, what a trip!
Jamie, you asked for it 😙😚 I am always amazed at Matt’s skills and the ability to think out of the box. Had a boss like that but he was not calm and nice when things got chaotic.
Thank you so much Matt for being such a Great Example and showing us all how we should act and show respect to those whom we associate and come in contact with❣️🙏❣️
I had 3 ft flames coming off a stove one day I went to ask my buddy for help but I was too calm he didn't think there was a fire 3 minutes later it clicked in there might be a problem he came to the kitchen almost 💩 a brick and help me put the fire out you always got to stay calm in a stressful situation
The whole crew works so well together. Everyone is capable of multiple jobs and they all do them well.
Lizzie never ceases to amaze at the extent of her abilities. Her and Tucker dealing with the 'down but not out' Morrvair was brilliant troubleshooting.
Great job all around.
There was the look of a professional who was visually pissed yet kept it together to get the job done! Well done buddy!
Yes it's me again. Just a PS to let you know I regularly watch and enjoy your videos, and really appreciate the design and engineering talent you have, and display, while building your specialised vehicles. Keep it all up, and more success to you and your whole team.
Regards, Nev.
I'm honestly surprised how rare flat trays are in the US, over here in Australia they're a very common factory option. Depending on how much of the bed you use, a nice alloy tray with a short 500-600mm canopy/dogbox for tools, parts, air compressor, etc would probably be pretty useful.
I know both DMW and MIT's Alloy are trying to get a foothold over there. This might be their chance 😉
Cool recovery 👍🏻 The Morrvair is a great tool. Works even when it’s broken 💪🏼
"It might not have been in neutral"......I'm bummed that this happened to you guys, but as a viewer who makes mistakes, I am glad you had the courage to include this in the video. It's nice to see a little honesty AND the process. Kudos! especially since you ended up with a successful recovery. Cool. I'll keep watching. 😊
Way to go guys and Lizzy was awesome getting the Morrvair by herself. Great stuff guys👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Cudos to Jamie for her navigation skills. Great recovery of the Morrvair Lizzie.
The MORRVAIR is a BEAST! Broken but still recovering 🤘🤘
I liked these videos an ok bit before, but after going out for the first time, driving off-road in my old L-200 (-92) I can appriciate these videos and what it involves so much more!
I'll tell you one thing that's one of the most impressive recoveries I've seen yet from you guys under the circumstances.
Definitely have a good flat bed idea.
Have Lizzy weld ya one up!
Would be super cool to watch some videos on blue steel.
After the heavy wrecker is done though.
35 mins after posting the video it already has 2.6k likes. you guys absolutely own the off road recovery on youtube 🤘🏼. keep the entertainment coming guys awesome work

Great job Lindsey, getting the Morrvair on and off the trailer, it might have been easier if you guys just used a jack to jack the front tires of the deck past the fenders put it down and drove it off. I lot of times we make things a little more difficult than need be because we are looking for the easiest way at the time, but it usually doesn't work because you overlook the obvious, it happens to everyone. Great driving Matt, you surely know what your Jeeps are capable of doing even when they are injured. Nice job .
Now that's something you don't see every day. A broke Morvair rescuing a broke Jeep. Always something new and fun to watch on this channel. Keep it coming.
The Morrvair is a project most of us would love to own. You’ve created an amazing car/truck/tow vehicle.
I'm betting the issue with that jeep was the auxiliary battery from what I've seen online. Good thing to look into for the future if this happen, a simply phone call telling him what to do to bypass it would have saved a lot of hassle if that was the problem.
Yep. Dead in the water JL = Aux Battery issue. Easy to fix.
Matt needs to watch @Lite Brite video on how to bypass the aux battery to get it to fire up.
I have a 2018 JL and have had the "privilege" of having to deal with a battery issue and that stupid dual battery system that they put in JL... Back before this auto-start-stop idiocy with dual batteries, when your battery started getting low, you could tell because the starter would turn over slower... With the current system, it just keeps working perfectly until it decides at some point to no longer work... No warning... And the original software for the 2018 model would prevent the vehicle from starting if the main battery was dead even though the aux battery was charged and could start the vehicle... I spent some time debugging my battery problem and eventually installed a larger main battery and leaving the aux battery disconnected...
That’s my guess as well……
@@raymonast4753 Great info guys.
Matt, great job keeping calm, it's gotta be tough in the situation!
9:05 “That deserves something more than a high five ya know” *smooch* “Ooooh, whoaaa!” 😂

She was right and after I lost my wife after almost 54 years on July the first; I would give almost anything to do that very thing to her, just like you did Matt!!!!
2:58 That Jeep was NOT in neutral 😲 Camera man doesn't speak up 🤔
I don't think the camera man on this rescue is really a car guy. May not have noticed that little detail.
About the Rubicon being in gear rather than neutral "That would have been a game changer". One of the strongest admonishments I have ever seen Matt hand out.
This is either the second or third time in recent memory that Tom has told Matt the checklist was complete when it wasn't.
@@GoogleIsRuiningEverything He said it was in Neutral because the owner told him it was.
@@lyman135 still his duty to go through the checklist.
Never listen to the owner, check yourself
Great job folks. Question- why did the Jeep lose all juice? Short? Fry? Anyone have a multi meter?
I've heard of independent front suspension, but never independent front steering, lol. Very impressive seeing the Morrvair power its way through the problems.
I’m truly impressed with you Matt 👏 getting the job done no matter what I love it
Good job Lizzy‼️ Matt and the team are lucky to have a young woman with your interests as part of said team.

Love that your going to put a flat bed on blues steel. Class Pays Fab makes some sweet custom beds and they could make you a bed to fit your needs.
Even broken, the Morvair still pulled the banana and a jeep up a hill, and drove out to a main road. I bet Lizzie would have jumped in the back with the dog, even without the rock paper scissors game. She is a keeper.

Blue Steel.. It would be real cool to have a flatbed on Blue Steel. I have seen some ford trucks with the rear wheels clear to the back of the truck, I thought they looked good. Maybe Matt can look at the engineering to see if it would be possible to position proper wheels and tires to carry the load on Blue Steel, and install a flatbed that would fit the Morrvair or the Banana. I just passed Blue Steel, it was headed East at Little Creek Station with the Morrvair on the trailer.. We have a jeep and love back roading, we have been on most all of the back roads that you do the recoveries on, so we really enjoy watching these recoveries that you guys do.
