Recommended Oil Change interval-every 3000km.
Many seasons old now, but still a great reference vid. Time to ride 7-18-22
Best video I've found on oil change
Great video !!! That is the best explenation of oil change procedure in lc4 that i've seen so far . All the best an a lot of fun from riding !!! Thanks .
By far the best explained way to change oil on the lc4
Thanks!
Getting ready to do my 2001 LC4 400. Very good video.
I have enjoyed your other aviation and Northern California videos- and I had no idea you drank the Orange Koolaid! I love my 640LC4E, and have a 950 Adventure for bigger fun! Cheers! (Glad you figured out the "open the top frame bolt and start the engine to bleed air from the oil circuit" trick)
Awsome video, "Shakin all over" reminded you of your KTM 640 Adventure. LOL. Seriously, your video helped a ton. I could find no other video that went into detail. I have the 2000 640 Adventure with 9800 miles. Only difference was mine had a drain screw just above the screw on filter on the frame. Its my first KTM. I have had dozens and dozens of other dual sport bikes ranging from DRZ400 to Vstrom DL1000's and everything in between. Thank you!!! Enjoyed it!!!
Thanks! glad it helped. I enjoy making USEFUL 'how to' CZcams videos, The only other 640 oil change vid I found in my research was not in English. JB
Hey Juan!!
Doin an oil change on the beast and found this, Cool!!
Steve Hartshorn The Real Estate Ranger about time! she'll stop blowing oil now...
Good video thanks for sharing it will certainly make it easier..... a picture or in this case Video is worth a thousand words.
+Archie Henderson Thanks!
Excellent tutorial, many thanks for sharing.
Ride safe...
old vid now, but i still own mine..2 worst thing about the bike is the useless carb and the myffler, both easily fixed.. a mikuni tm40 carb..or even better but quite expensive the Keihin fcr 41, and a complete aftermarket exhaust, like full acra-system, and this bike comes to life, the stock carb is a big restriction, and changing it out makes a HUGE difference..dont know in numbers but i woud estimate an 20% increase whit carb and exhaust - i belive the stock bst carb(constan velocity carb) was mounted due to emissions
Excellent video well explained and shot, saved me a trip to the mechanic. Getting the oil in that frame near the head stem got a little messy.
When does the valve clearance video come out ? :-)
Excellent! Glad I could help! Valve video soon, she's due as I continue to shake her down. Should be pretty easy-tappet valves, not buckets and shims like on my KTM 350 EXC-F. JB
useful video, clearer than the manual, thanks. with you on the price of motrex. even worse when you've got more than 1 katoom. price you pay for fun i guess.
Excelent Video!! I would like to buy a KTM adventure 2003, but instead I read that there are problems with camshaft, Is true that? How do you solve it? thanks!
You just said this is more capable than an XR600 on the dirt??? Hard to believe...I wouldn't know.. so just clarifying
is it the same for 2003 625?
decent vid, thanks for sharing
Nice!!! Thanks for that!
Great video, how often do you change your oil on the lc4?
+Rotor Flex About 3000 miles...
clean clear vid..what are the cons and pros for the 640..?! there is one for sale but 98..do you recommend..?! what the conclusion..?^
I ride one myself (2004 model)
Pro: ground clearance, suspension, standard gear, f* cking fast one cilinder, fun factor, fuel capacity, kickstart
con: can be expensive, the height, complex
Still have this bike?
I had no idea you had a 640. My pops rides a 640.
That's ridiculous how they design that
