It frustrates me to no end that after I waited months for a delayed orange V2, I now find out that there is a V2.5 available shortly after my V2 arrived.

I just pulled my trigger on this frost monster after having both a good and okay experience from Heimdallr (the titanium skx and 62mas). I just hope that i dont get it with the same problem as my 62mas frost version whereby the crown stem was a bit too short when they cut it hence unscrewing the crown caused date change and sometimes time as well. It makes the watch not windable haha.
Very nice watches. Heimdallr are definitely up there when it comes to homaging this iconic Seiko design. They did an excellent job trying to replicate the Seiko dials. Of course nobody can do a dial like Seiko or Grand Seiko, and on close inspection you can see a huge difference in terms of dial finishing, but for the price, it's still pretty good. I'm happy with my 2nd gen Heimdallr red dial Monster, prefer the pointy teeth! Lol. But this will be an attractive option for a lot of people. The darker hands are great.
Have to say i went for the silver hands (Heimdallr lets you choose) as it looks better imo. Readability be damned!

Got my V2 snowlast week, unfortunately with silver hands.. Still a beautiful watch.. But ive found a set of Samurai black hands on ebay, which have arrived, il get these on it... Thet Maybe different colour lume, havent removed them from packet... Watch is stunning.. The lume is stronger than my Selko prospex! , so pleased i chose the snow now, was a gamble as there were no videos on it to look. Cheers for Video 😁👍
Probably the next Heimdallr to add to my collection. Have an all steel Tuna on the way now. Good review s always. Watchdive tuna with orange lime is also nice.
Wow that's the fix they needed. However, Heimdallr is still showing the silver hands on their website, so I'm not ordering until that is fixed.

If yous ask Heimdallr nicely and you bought the Frosty or Snow dial on original hands, from the official website they will post you a version 2 set black outlined handset. Very impressed with Heimdallr aftersales far and away a better experience then other Chinese brands including San Martin on latent defects and cosmetic issues . Great job Heimdallr .Oh and excellent updated Informed review 👍
just bought the blue frost as the snow didnt do it for me in pics but this video damn that snow looks good ....probably grab it as well but is it too close to justify ?

Nice that they switched the hands, but I the images in the store are still with the old hands - how will I know I get the darker hands? Also do you know if they did get the yellow version also the darker hands?

Well, I wouldn't agree with you there Tommy. I have a number of Seiko's myself and the red dial Heimdallr Monster 2nd gen. Yes, they do use a sapphire crystal etc, but in my years of diving I've never scratched a hardlex, plus there would be no Heimdallr Monster without Seiko designing it in the first place, plus there'd be no Heimdallr Monster without Seiko's NH36A inside it, plus each Seiko Diver is individually tested to meet the relevant ISO dive watch standards. Now, I have taken my Heimdallr Monster down to 80m and it's fine, and actually another brand Steeldive SD1975 tuna down to 100m. However they're not ISO certified and not guaranteed to be water resistant. Plus most Seiko divers have a 2 year worldwide warranty. I wouldn't be going overboard on my AE watches as quality is about more than a crystal and a solid end link. If you don't dive I can understand that more simple view, but when you compare the customer service the safety testing and other things Chinese watch homages don't do, it's our Heimdallrs and Steeldives etc, that are still less than any ISO certified Seiko. You never really beat the original as the homage will never exist without it. Even the "Diver's 200m" on our Heimdallr dials should not be there, as that term ONLY applies to ISO certified pieces. And good luck to us if in 18 months our Heimdallr watches go belly up and we need to activate a warranty.

Yes, Seiko isn't perfect, no watch company is, even Omega are having big qc issues with their latest speedmaster, but comments like this from those who don't know much about these pieces irritates me sometimes, as they don't know the history and get get all caught up in the cosmetic differences. Anyway, that's my rant over! 🤪
Full agree with your rant Brian and couldn't have said it better myseld. I was on the Seiko bashing band wagon in the early days but once you mature into the collecting hobby, u know there actually aren't any seiko 'killer' homage watches out there
