  • After 8 years of school and 1 year of residency, I finally accomplished my goal of becoming a clinical inpatient pharmacist! I'll be recording my pharmacy journey - navigating life as a first time pharmacist fresh out of my pharmacy residency. I'll also show you a glimpse of what my life is like outside of work as well!
    I am currently a float pharmacist, meaning I "float" around and work different areas of the hospital depending on where they need me. This video is a brief overview of what my day is like when I am covering the weekend Clinical Discharge Shift!

    hi! if you were to be a hospital pharmacist or a retail pharmacist, is there any different credentials needed or are they the same degree?

    Kind of off point 😅 but where did you get your couch from (any link)? I’m on a couch hunt rn.
    The video is insightful as usual, thanks 😊

    Not sure if you've covered these in other videos, but I have two questions.
    1. Do you have an L.A. City Fire Card? If so, where did you the training? There are too many options online and I don't know what's legit and what isn't.
    2. Do you have Blood Borne Pathogen certification? Is that helpful as a pharmacy technician and/or pharmacist? If so, again, where did you take the training?
    I don't need either of these yet, but since my resume is virtually non-existent I'm looking to take the initiative and find something to put on there that shows I've thought about some of the things that aren't obvious. Let me know when you get a chance and keep up the good work. Thanks in advance!

      1. No I don't have a LA City Fire Card I believe. However, all of my certifications are through my work - so most likely if its required of your workplace, they will help you set it up or refer you to places to get it done!
      2. Honestly I can't recall if I have been Blood Borne Pathogen certified. I may have in the past when it was a requirement for rotations or internships or work etc. Personally, I don't think employers will look for this when reviewing a resume - but if its free or cheap, then I guess it doesn't hurt? But if its expensive or time consuming, I wouldn't pursue it. However, I do love that you are working hard to try to make yourself stand out! Rooting for you :)

    So in the future if I work as a hospital pharmacist, are the working hours for the weekends/holidays the same amount of hours as the weekdays?

    • @SarahPharmD
      @SarahPharmD  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Every hospital is different so I can’t speak for other hospitals, but my shifts are usually 8 hours or 12 hours depending on the shift! Most of them are 8 hours unless any of the 12hour staff are on vacation or sick & they need coverage!
