@@brysonius FO4 is a lot of people's fav because its the latest and the graphics are better. FO3 and New Vegas are over 15 years old so its "dated" to a lot of people..But when it comes to storylines and possible paths to take, New Vegas takes the cake. It just has so many ways to finish the game and has massive replay value.
Having loved the games im so happy to see coworkers who tried the game but didnt understand it are now giving it another try because they love the show and want to hang out in that world.
And the best part is people realizing they were playing the right way by getting lost and side tracked!
FO3 will always be favourite, while I go back to play FO4 the most due to it just being more update with its gameplay, 3 will always have a special place for being my first entry into the games

That _specific_ Ink Spots song - “I Don’t Want to Set the World on Fire” - was what my partner and I chose for our first dance at our wedding.

That bear-man thing that the power-armored dude fought is called a Yao Guai. Lots of those all over the place in Fallout 3.
The show is canon to the games going forward, it is not based on a specific game, it takes place after the most recent game.
That Lucy scene at the beginning when she is looking at the skeletons IS the whole point of the games (for me at least). There are thousands of tiny little instances of environmental story telling in every little corner. You walk into an empty building to search for a gun or some supplies and you find a scene like this and go "yeah... I can see what happened here"
i still remember that skeleton sitting in a bathtub with like 10 stimpaks and a few bottles of alcohol in some underground bunker in fallout 4

Fallout is one of the few games where reading the terminals/notes actually helps build immersion alongside the environmental storytelling, you can feel the dread and despair some of these individuals went through before you came across their remains

"They're using that song from Watchmen." as someone who's was introduced to Fallout back when Fallout 3 came out, I just find that so amusing. XD
That song was used in Fallout 3's intro back in 2008, so pretty much anyone familiar with Fallout and gaming in general would probably associate that song with Fallout before anything else. To hear someone call it "that song from Watchmen" rather than "that song from Fallout" just makes me chuckle.

it was also supposed to be used for the very first game, but they couldn't get the license and instead used "maybe" by the same group, so fallout always had a love for the ink spots :)
Sean the games are kinda like Skyrim in that you are the adventurer exposed to encounters w/ randos, often as eerie and whacky as Dr.Wilzig or the the Shopkeep; also Wilzig escaped from a faction called the Enclave, who are not Vault-Tec but access their databases
This one was definitely the “Book of Boba Fett” shenanigans episode, but given the premiere, I think it earns the fun and whimsy
The ghoul got ownership of the dog because the fallout universe runs on pokemon rules. If you knock something out then bring it back to health it becomes your companion.

So, in the games there's a VATS combat system which allows you to target specific areas to hit, like the head, blowing off legs, etc. And there's a 'Bloody Mess' perk you can choose to get...The Ghoul's gun skills are a nice nod to both.
This is an original story in the Fallout universe, so there is no Lucy, The Ghoul, Maxiumus, etc. They are archetypes that can exist in the game. You can do quests that might include taking someone from one locale to another, or infiltrating a faction, even hunting down criminals, etc.
finally someone who knows the turrets are terrible and not just missing cause of bad writing like people believe. Good shit dustin. And great reaction all cant wait to watch more. Between fmab and a few other great shows like this yall are slowly becoming my favorite reactioners.

To note the scientist wasn't from Vaultec he was working for The Enclave - who might as well be Fallout Illuminati. In Ep1 in the pre-bomb section, the radio said something about no news on the President's location .... He was off hiding out with his Envlave buddies, in the games they later make AI President and try to pretend they're still in charge.
To Sean's question about story this is a unique to tue show story, but Lucy's story is very much how the games go, the numbered ones at least. Different character, different vault, but always tutorial prologue in comfy vault happens and you go outside for the main game.

I was a bit apprehensive about this show when it was first announced since live action video game adaptations seem to be cursed, but after watching the first episode I ended up binging the entire first season. I kept my expectations low but it completely blew it out of the water. With this show and TLoU there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel. I can't wait for the next season. Y'all gonna love this one.

This show is canon to the Fallout story/timeline, and yes things LIKE this happens. The characters are like 99% new characters, and none are playable characters since the games set you up as a "build your own" character/story kind of character.
Most of the gameplay other than the combat is moral crossroads where you might help one group and be given a fucked up quest that you might not want to do, but not doing the quest might also fuck things up.
Glad somebody else picked up on the Good Bad and Ugly feel... Good Lucy, Bad Ghoul, and Ugly Max(not physically but morally very grey)

For some context that will not spoil the show The Enclave loves doing experiments on animals, if you look in the back they are doing some kind of mind control, the dog is label CX-404 because it means Canine Experiment attempt 404th, The Doctor felt bad and took CX404 as his pet until of course we know what happens 😢

These characters are all original n based off the themes of the games. Except for Dogmeat, theres always a Dogmeat. (To my knowledge)
Every game (except maybe Tactics...I haven't played that in awhile, so I dont remember), there's a Dogmeat. In 1 & 2 it's actually the same dog, but after that, it's different dogs, but they're still always 'Dogmeat'.
And now we have CX404, the Goodest Girl, Dogmeat the Next.
