Fallout is set in a future where the transistor wasn't invented until about 10 years before the war which is why they were still using vacuum tube technology which gives it that 50's feel.

The idea that their simple domestic technology would change wasn't something anyone imagines all that much so even in the 21rst Century they STILL had the same cars, appliances, home decor, entertainment technology, etc; except it was just upgrades with better capabilities. Cars may still look like the same cars from 100 years ago but they ran on nuclear or electrical power and could possibly fly. even robots look like they belong in the 50's.

I was in 6th grade when the television movie The Day After first aired. The next day at school, I remember a lot of the younger kids being really freaked out by it. Those of us who were a little older and who understood where we lived were consoling them by telling them not to worry about it, in the the event of a nuclear war we would be some of the first people to die. Our school was a few miles outside of Washington DC and halfway between the Pentagon and Fort Belvoir.

A nuke creates a ridiculous amount of heat at impact. Depending on what minerals are present in the area, the heat will manifest variances. In one area, glass may be formed, in another you might have calcification, in another petrification etc etc. So the bones and bodies, are more than possible if the conditions for it existed in that area.

And of course you are not supposed to run with it or anything. But there are stims un Fallout universe that heal you in short time, so the protocol here must be different.

This also applies to real world situations, not just dystopian films. If you accidentally stab yourself while out hunting, camping, etc. and you don’t have access to semi immediate medical care or a reliable beacon, the object HAS to come out, otherwise you’re 100% not making it. “Always leave it in” is tv trope that works for when you can call 911. I began watching "Fallout" on Prime Video almost a week ago, and right from the first episode, it is indeed a blast. Easily the best TV series of 2024, and also *the* best TV series that is based on the video game. Boom!💯

There's a great movie in a similar vein called Six String Samurai. After Russia drops the bomb on the united states Elvis sets up his own kingdom in Las Vegas. 20 years later the king is dead and now musicians from all over the wasteland are headed to a sort of battle of the bands to see who will be crowned the next king. The protagonist is Buddy who represents classic rock and roll who must do battle with Death Metal.

I like this series so far. I've played Fallout 3,4 and fallout 76. It's very faithful to the game. I also love that they included a lot of the soundtrack from the game. I have developed a love for 50's music, that I never thought I would. I love that they play the story from the 3 different perspectives. Can't wait to see what's next. Literally. By my calculations, The Ghoul would be 270 years old, assuming he was Walton's age when the bombs fell. Also, that means The Ghoul will have been born before Fallout 5 will release, 2026.
Also, Colin Furze is solo digging his own "vault". Surely you two could do it as well.
