The arm movement with the stationary bikes that have those handles has more benefits than just the heart rate and don't kid yourself put the tension up and you WILL get a higher heart rate. So you can't say one will give you better cardio bike versus treadmill.
Completely hilarious. Do you ever recall telling a kid to take it easy Thursday, rest, let your body rest. I'm 66 and I come with facts. I cycled throughout my 50s, stationary, 1,000 cal burned, 68 minutes, Daily. My most recent daily streak reached 238 days, before surgery. (63yo). My personal '1&8.' One hour, plus 8 minutes warmup. I've been hampered by surgeries over the last 2 and 1/2 yrs, and am only now getting back on the cycle. While I agree it's ok to get up after 10 minutes, simply because you won't lose your burn IF you get back on within a minute or so, A 30 minute limit is ludicrous. While great for you if you're building up, rehabbing, not particularly if you just sit there and pedal at 3 mph. I'm 2 weeks into my comeback and I ride for 44 minutes and I've got my cal burn up to 400. 10 years ago, sometimes I'd burn 450 in just 30 minutes. I'll build back up. Listen to your body, rest when it tells you to. Personally, if I take a day off between rides, it's far more difficult for me to get going after the day off. Daily, I'm left with the energy to get most little things accomplished, it's earning my couch time. Because I can't walk too well, I'm one of the laziest people you'd ever meet. BTW, one of the cheapest home cycles you can buy is the exerpeutic, around 150 bucks. Sturdy, and Quiet. I've purchased at least 8, giving away as gifts. Never had a bolt come loose.
Thanks for your tips! I agree, 30 minutes is not very much if you're in shape. I'm active like you (age 64) and I walk 5 miles daily. BUT, sadly, the majority of seniors are not in the best of shape, so 30 minutes is better than NOT doing anything, plus it is the length of time the experts typically agree is "enough." Good luck with your comeback!

They both definitely have their pros and cons. Thanks for watching!
Need a bigger seat on my exercise bike soooo uncomfortable! 😊 Treadmill just right 😊
Lol, I totally agree. For me, the treadmill is the better option as well. :)
You can get bigger bike seats. I have one.
lol 150 hours a week, glad you corrected it.
