Mortimer is a knowledge sim so they r cool with alien Abductions in general so in his mind he was glad she was gonna get to meet the aliens and was happy for her Iâve never seen a knowledge sim be upset about that so Mortimer was like good for my wife I think that just comes with his aspiration
That's what I thought too. Mortimer and Bella are childhood sweethearts and I can't imagine Mortimer hating Bella that much, no matter what has happened as they grew up they'll always have a special place in each other's hearts or that's what I like to think lol
@@tangentexy true! But itâs also found out in the Sims 2 PSP game that Bella married Mortimer for his money & never really loved him so ya never know what was going on behind closed doors! đ¤
But the creators could have changed that and they didn't. I think Bella wanted to party and have fun and Mortimer was too busy with his job and skill building and that destroyed their dreamy relationship.
Yes, just like romance sims get a negative memory when they get married even when they love the sim they're getting married to. It depends on the aspiration
@@Tamatchi_ One thing I realized about that not too long ago is that PSP Bella _is Strangetown Bella!_ So we don't actually know if that's original Bella or Clone Bella. Though to be fair, I tend to view them the same as OP, so I may just be desperately trying to keep the dream alive, lol
I feel like I need to correct the memory front.
The invisible memory is a Gossip memory based on Mortimer's memory of becoming best Friends with Bella. In story terms it'd mean that Alexander has had someone gossip to him about when his parents became best friends. Since it's a Gossip memory Alexander may end up talking about it with other sims and spreading that information around.
I enjoy the videos but I just felt like I needed to correct this.
A little hole:
Mortimer is a Knowledge Sim. In this Aspiration Abduction is a positive memory since it brings more knowledge to the Sim.
Would be odd if it was dead positive memory, which happens a lot in the Seasons Neighbourhood.

Maybe the devs got lazy? I like the theory, but in my opinion its seemes a bit far fetched...
Also it can be just a mistake, made by developers. I donât remember which pre-made sim has same problem, but I remember Iâve seen it
@@TheSimsLore it does not matter who if they put a negative it would be weird if a sim player played as this family and saw that Mortimer had a negative memory of her getting abducted my aliens. And then played as a another knowledge sim and then someone like a boyfriend got abducted itâs positive. They would think itâs weird so they left it as positive. You should see marticoreâs video on Bella goth and what the game sees her as
@@TheSimsLore It's part of the aspiration. Is something they couldn't change. If it got red, would be odd other sims getting green abduction memories.
Also, he's not happy that she's gone. But happy that He got a confirmation that aliens exist and they aren't alone. People tend to misundertand that. If it had a "Sim missing" memory, it could be green if you had a negative relationship and red if it was positive.
I think that by going back in time and writing a book 50 years before Bella disappeared to warn her not to get abducted Alexander warped time and made the Sims 4 hense it is an alternate timeline.

Thatâs why the sims 3 is the best so far
The sims has the most amazing stories, they have like 20+ families in every world with unique storylines even the store worlds has those
loving how don's place in this theory is "he's literally just the worst"
The gossip memory is being interpreted wrong in this theory, unfortunately. It's kinda dumb, but Alexander received gossip about Mortimer and Bella becoming BFFs (I mean, they're his parents, I would hope they're bffs) and is not a memory about him becoming bffs with his mom.
As for the low relationship scores, the devs probably just got lazy and didn't set them properly because Bella was never meant to be accessible through normal gameplay. Death also erases crush, love, and marriage flags and they're not returned when a sim is resurrected (though again, they probably never bothered to set these flags in the first place). She has 0 personality points, is technically considered dead (she has the "I am Dead" token) but her portrait is not greyed out in the family tree, and has no memories - she was pretty much added in to the Pleasantview just to have memories that could reference her and so she'd be in the family tree and is thus incomplete data wise. Darleen Dreamer and Skip Broke also suffer from some of these anomalies as well as having hidden versions of themselves that are referenced.
Sims 2 Maxis templates are a disaster, basically, especially the 3 basegame hoods đ
This is why I love all the creators who've gone in and repaired all the corrupted memories and relationships in these neighborhoods. I love and miss Mootilda too, for giving us a tool to keep our neighborhoods going for as long as possible, before they inevitably explode in a big fiery ball visible from space đ

I thought the same thing but you explained it a lot better than Iâd ever be able to do. I thought this was widely known honestly, but at the same time Iâm not very surprised since I know that people love to speculate and make up even more dramatic stories.
Like having to clone nervous subject because the accidentally killed him off. I just think they made a double for him like some other characters - plus I think the developers would br able to get Nervous back if they âaccidentallyâ killed him.
Iâm not really a fan of these made up stories when I know that thereâs a logical and technical answer that makes a lot more sense and is way simpler. But thatâs just my autistic brain honestly haha. Iâm more for facts than fantasy.
After watching this, I went and read: "Bella Goth Disappearance FINALLY Solved!" By Alex Plays Sims. While there are inconsistencies in both of your theories, I did enjoy them.
However, I completely disagree with them. Mortimer Goth is a knowledge sim (hence, he will always have a positive memory of anyone's abduction). While I might agree about her being pregnant with their Mortimer and her 3rd child when abducted, and that is the reason for not returning her to her home planet, I cannot get on board with the whole divorce/murder plot. Whenever some are resurrected, they all lose their marital ties, it is a part of the game code.
I do believe that the Bella of Lunar Lakes, was indeed the Bella of Pleasantview, and after she gave birth to her daughter, they wiped her memories, and sent her daughter to live with a host family, because it was the only way they could get Bella to cooperate with them. Oblivious to her past, she worked with the aliens, until she succumbed to old age. The aliens grew quite fond to her. As for the reason her clone was sent to Strangetown, instead of Pleasantview, it was another error, it was a crash, and although she should have full memories of her clone, her injuries caused her to lose all memories, even of her childhood.
In conclusion, there was no actual murder, but of course Alexander might not feel it to be so, ergo he went through the time machine, going back too far, and getting stuck, writing his theories down, and they became bestsellers.

Oh my, I really like that second part of your theory, it explains clearly everything in Strangetown and Lunar Lakes.
However Im still doubtful about Mortimer's position about Bella, their relation, did he choose to maintain her young, or was it her choice? Were they in love? I'm also very confused about why Alexander doesn't remember the abduction at all.
Also Iâve had newborn sims gain the abducted memory so even if Alex was a toddler thereâs no reason he wouldnât have a memory of Bellaâs abduction

Unfortunately, resurrected sims always have neutral relationships with sims who aren't family members when brought back, and since "dying" made Mortimer and Bella not married anymore, he is not considered her family. Also, all knowledge sims have positive memories of people getting abducted. Most sims 2 theory videos have been ruined for me because of Marticore's video on Bella's disappearance from the games perspective haha

Mortimer is a knowledge sim, therefor his memory is green instead of red.
Also bella goth was giving the "i am dead" token which is given to all dead sims to unlink them and clear their flags (aka love, engagement, marriage) so that the spouse can move on. Which is why all the flags are cleared for bella and mortimer.
Them having no chemistry is understandable since chemistry was introduced with nightlife not with thr basegame.
And last but not least; Alexander's memory, the base of this video, is about Alexander HEARING gossip about his parents being best friends.
Love your theories and your stories but you kinda jumped ship with this one.
Ok everyone calm down. We know about knowledge sims and positive memory but what about the rest of the theory?? SERIOUSLY! ... Alexander Goth knew something and it's why he wrote about it! Time travel is possible in the sims 3 so I'm all for this theory!
One thing I want to mention about the time travel aspects surrounding this theory is that you can find a gravestone for Bella Goth in Lunar Lakes. Based on the lore of the town I assume this takes place far into the future which would imply that not only was Bella abducted but also sent into the future.
Thing is it canât be further than Into the future close possibly but not further or during (we see that the time machine that emmet uses is likely more advanced than the one that Cassandra invented (Or is the same one passed down through the ages) but Lunar lakes could take place in between both of those times I mean after all it does say in into the future that a Realestate boom brought the landgraabs to oasis landing not something I see happening in lunar lakes given that the planet seems to be only barely habitable to sims (oh also side note In sim city 4 there is an industrial building called âGoth Mechanicsâ so that could be Cassandraâs doing)
I have always wondered what the motivation was behind Mortimer wanting Bella goneâŚ.it never made sense. But wow it all makes so much sense!!!!!! I love your videos!

Knowledge sims get a happy memory when sims get abducted, even if themselves get abducted.

The reason why Mortimer has an happy memory of Bella being abducted, it's because he's a knowledge sim. It's just a scripted thing, they couldn't change it for him
Also, searching in the game files for clues isn't reliable at all. The developers made a bit of a mess while creating The Sims 2, there are a lot of cloned sims, missing data, corrupted code...and they certainly didn't expect for players to find out about it, otherwise they would have been way more careful. If they deleted Alex's memory of his mom, it's because he's not supposed to have it, that's it.
Marticore made a video where she explained quite well what Bella is from the game's perspective, I would suggest anyone who wants to make a theory to watch it

I still think it was Don, Dina and Nina. Don was mad at the rejection from Bella, and Dina just wanted Mortimers money. Nina was just there to help Dina I guess
In some of the spinoff Sims 2 games it's confirmed that Bella left Mortimer. It's not completely clear if she decided that beforehand or if she just doesn't want to go back to him now that she's gone already.
I love the theories, but the only way I can play TS2 or TS3 is to envision the timeliness as being fragmented. And kinda parallel. If I try to make sense of continuity (or lack thereof) it just reminds me that the creators just never really finished the job.
Love this video even if the theory may have a few holes just based on how sims 2 was. I really wish sims continued the lore, i am super curious about Alexander Goth and what happened with him. He seems glossed over sadly. I miss good story telling in these games, its fun to theorize so keep them coming :)

Besides the obvious Addams family reference in the Goths, Mortimer and Bella have always sort of reminded me of Mr. Rochester and his first wife, Bertha Manson. Obviously Bella Goth is never locked up in an attic, but her disappearance is similar enough. Also, after reading Jane Eyre I realised how much Bella resembles Berthaâs character physically.
So glad you talk about it. Please, keep investigating because I've read Alexander appears as Brandi Broke uncle in those files. Even though it doesn't make sense, Alexander could have been the son of Brandi's dead husband. It makes sense to me that Mortimer sold the elixir to the aliens to be as far as possible from Bella and threw Brandi's husband to the pool. Trusting in aliens avoided him going to jail.
Dina may have helped Mortimer. She was Bella's sister-in-law, so she must have met Mortimer much time before the abduction.
Dina and Bella had different reasons to cheat Mortimer. Dina had a relationship with Don Lothario because he was supposed to be very rich in the town the developers created before Pleasantview. Bella had a relationship with Brandi's husband and kissed Don Lothario (to reject make out with, it's necessary a kiss in the Sims) because she had the romance aspiration.
I am excited for you covering the AlexplaysSims theory, and while I think it´s kinda far stretched, it´s still fun to talk about it

OMG i love alexplayssims' theory on Bella, I can't wait for your video on it!
Also, as for Alexander's book, he thinks Mortimer killed Bella, he goes back in time to when they were kids, wrote "Murder in Pleasantview", which makes people go "oh we don't want a murder happening in Pleasantview" and therefore, in this universe, Pleasantview is never created by the Goths, because they wouldn't want it to be associated with a murder from a book, and instead it turns into that whole alternate universe of TS4.
We all know don DEFINITELY would make a move on the kitchen sink, donât try to deny it đ
If you digging into Bella goth you might want to look at the sims 2 psp I think it has a Bella goth from strange town post abduction if Iâm remember right. She has a house I donât know if that supports anything.

I think the books Alex wrote changed the timeline and thats why the sims 4 is different. Also i think his obsession with the elixir potion probably malfunctioned and thats why heâs older.

Ok so recently in one of my Sims 2 games one of my sims died (he was married and had 2 kids). I was able to resurrect him using a genie lamp and it all seemed to be going as planned so far, but as soon as this sim was resurrected, he was no longer married to his wife, even though they were still married by the time he passed. So I don't know about the whole divorce thing... who knows, really?
Well, marriage ends at death in real life, so I guess itâs nothing weird about that :-)

I think Bella got abducted and then Alexander did too and Alex got dropped in sunset valley, in the past, and Bella was brought back to Strangetown.
I highly doubt the fact that Mortimer would be happy that Bella was gone. He's a knowledge sim and for knowledge sims alien abductions is always postive.

The idea of starting TS2 development with Mortimer as a bachelor before introducing Bella later doesnât really make sense, since him and Bella were already together in TS1 (and Cassandra was already born by then too).
I like all the theories and how into it the sims community gets but I donât think the devs put as much thought into it as we do so some things can just be coincidence or mistakes I know a lot of memories and skills and things that were mistakes in sims 2 happened
As someone who never played sims this is wild.
I think I know bella's secret to alex, mortimer is also been cloned by real mortimer, this sinister clone is been opposide side of him, real mortimer is completely good man. maybe real one is supposedly dead by exposure of elixir, it is took whole his last days. so clone mortimer is took his life continued in secret, to you know, keep cassandra and alexander company, while their both parents are no longer with them. but clone's feelings and emotions are changed with time, you know, big money, big house, chicks, who cares about the kids? so his plan to eliminate real mortimer's children get money, which is interesting take from me, why he is never stopped cassandra to get married with don? sending alexander to boarding school, married with dina, and had kids with her, because he is really cared about his second place kids more than primary ones, it is all make sense. maybe this is real mystery, instead bella.

I am a simple man, i prefer to think of Mortimer as someone who loved Bella and, when she was abducted, thought "Well, the aliens have to turn her back, the always return back people isnt it? Im thrilled for her to return in a couple hours and tell me her discoveries while we cuddle in bed" And after days pass he was like "My girl has to return...isnt she?...they always return people back..."

How do we know that Alexander wasn't just named after an ancestor? Makes more sense than time travel IMO
what if the reason she was the 29th sim created was just that there was more than one person creating them? maybe the first, say, 15 sims were actually all being worked on by different people more or less simultaneously, instead of each one being made only after the previous one had been finished.
that way, rather than them making 28 sims before deciding to make her, she was really in one of the first couple batches of sims created, & it wasnât a huge gap of time between Morty & her being thought up.

What if Mortimer wanted a better Bella and he made a deal with scientifics from Strangetown to creat him a new Bella? that's why there is a clone of her but then something went wrong? I don't know i have a lot of imagination. I always liked the Goth's as a big happy family.
Hmm I feel as if the caliente sisters did have something to do with the disappearance given that it is stated that they arrived on the eve that Bella disappeared on as far as Mortimer goes to be fair the two of them were childhood friends/sweethearts I feel as if he has every right to be angry if and only IF Bella cheated first then divorced him as for Alexander whose to say that he didnât know the plot? He could have found Out what the plot was possibly out of his fathers journal but if he went public with it heâd likely be ridiculed (Mortimer being a renowned scientist prior to the games timeframe in the sims 2 given that he can purchase that Virus DNA table thing which is a career reward and that he is retired I feel that he has already invented that elixir of life but is keeping the recipe secret also I imagine that Don is either 1 some poor guy who got tangled up into the plot 2 is being used by the calientes to possibly intimidate Mortimer (Don Iâm fairly certain has a personal workout machine in his home and is not that far from being in peak physical condition) or 3 is legitimately the only witness (though unknowingly) to Bellaâs last days in pleasant view

It was a rhetorical question. She was talking from the perspectives of Will Wright (and other people working with him on the game) when The Sims 2 was still being created and the characters' stories being developed.
