- How This Highly Skilled Mountaineer Died A TERRIBLE Death
Today, we will uncover the tragic fate of a highly skilled mountaineer who met a terrible end. Jerzy Kukuczka, Poland's respected master of the mountains, was a true force in the world of alpine climbing. With a bold spirit and desire to conquer new heights, he left an indelible mark on the history of mountaineering. Born in Karavitza, Poland, in 1948, Kukuczka's journey to greatness began at the young age of 17 when he first experienced the thrill of rock climbing. Little did he know that this initial venture would set him on a path that would shape his entire life. What led to the tragic demise of this accomplished mountaineer? Let's find out!
Mountaineering, Climbing, Accident - Zábava
Diving has a popular saying: Plan your dive and dive your plan. This is because any slight error or technical difficulty can lead to death. I feel like climbing should have the exact same warning: Plan your climb, climb your plan. Do not rely on a rope you did not inspect and purchase yourself from a store that you know is not second-hand, and if you suddenly find you have to, back out until you get a replacement and go back later. It's not worth it. Same for if you end up trying for the summit too late in the day. WAIT, or try again a different day/season.
Interesting to learn about this 'diving saying'!
The problem is they get so close to the summit and that's all that matters
I'm 100% with the diver- mine was the same, plan your dive and dive your plan! Deviation kills. Summit fever kills faster.
Ooohh also, also, don't do this crap, end up needing "help"& putting others lives at risk. Some Sherpa have even died.
@cail171. Lots of Sherpa have died. They chose the risk too.
Imagine the joy of staying on the flat bits of the earth and living to 3/4 of a hundred years and all things considered I might just make it for another 20 years. Mountains are lovely to look at from the bottom :)
I'm younger, but agree. I'll climb vicariously lol, but not in person.
Every mountain has it's energy the more you climb the more you want to climb trust me if you don't check your Ego.... you end up dead!
No one is the “Master of the mountain” - the mountain is the master and always will be.
Too many do not respect this, even among those with experience enough to know they should.
3:19 my goodness🤯 it obviously takes nerves of titanium to climb a vertical sheet of ice, ramming a grappling hook into the ice to ascend like this.
I’ve always wondered; how does one know how strong such a massive sheet of ice is? How can you know it will hold your weight and not crack with every swing of the grappling hook
The skills these guys have are amazing! I like to think they're so experienced and one with the mountain, they just know where to place the hook. But you never know for sure!
They don't, for certain .

What a Great Loss all because of the wrong stupid rope. So sad for everyone
Experiernce and skill accounts for nothing in this pastime. Its a great leveller.
Funny, his last name kukuczka, sounds like Koekkoek which means crazy in Dutch.
😂 coincidences are the spice of life.
I couldn't believe someone caught his entire "Grand Tour" fall on camera. That really caught me off guard. I'd never seen it before on any videos, not to mention the short 15 minute type.
Can anyone confirm that this was his actual fall, or some other poor unlucky b*st*rd's?
Why r those shops selling used ropes. Yikes. Isn't that a lawsuit waiting to happen. My bad prolly no courts/etc there. Who knows
where is Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast on your map at 4.04 😂
So, he wanted to do a climb no one had done before. Now he’s dead. I hope it was worth it!
Worth it to who? He's moved on.
Is it worth it to put so much value on the transient existence of our life here on Earth? We can't know until it's over.
You are the only one who can put value on your own life. But you may be wrong.
@@joelp9486 I meant were his actions worth it to his family.
@@janetflier6192 I don’t really like comments like these. They come from a place of moral grandstanding from people who choose to waste their lives working a 9 to 5.
“Ah yes, the brave man who pushed the limits of humanity is dead! Maybe if he was a bitch like me he’d be alive!”

How documentarys are there of people that sit at there computer and gather all information lame stop using imagines that have nothing to do.with the object of discussion
Huh? 🤔
That makes no sense at all.
Who made thus.
It was narrated so stupidly.
Yezha was a good Climber.
He was a trail blazer
He was a pioneer.
He claimed mountains well.
He made it up lots of mountains.
This made him a good climber.
He was great climber.
He made great achievements.
This made him a great climber.
Wtf. We get it. He could climb tell the story quot blowing smoke.
@montanasnowman3138.
He lives in Montana.
He is surrounded by snow
10 months a year.
Then the snow melts.
He can't go hiking because
he might get eaten
by a grizzly bear
It makes him bitter.
It makes him angry.
So he rants about a
pretty well-done video.
Move to CA. Take a yoga class. Hang out at the beach. Smoke a joint. Try to relax. You will feel much better.
Its just an enormously bloated video. Probably because of "algorithms". Thumbs down.
Fast forward to 12:15 and save yourself 12 minutes of your life.
Thanks!!
If he was a great climber he wouldn't be dead
@PhillipSalyers-pd3tp. If you were a great person, you would be a lot more respectful.
I think you have no clue of mountaineering!
You need to rethink that comment. One can be great and still die doing what they love, what they're excellent at. I love riding horses. I'm a very good rider. I still get thrown sometimes.
I’d be more impressed if these guys were doing this for a useful purpose , for training to be an elite solider at the ready to perform elite tasks for their countries. But no , for most it’s just a high . A really stupid risky one . Most to selfish to give themselves to anything purposeful, and then sad for the families that suffer from the many losses 😢
@sphynxster06. Just a useless, purposeless, selfish indulgence -- like watching CZcams videos and feeling the need to comment on them.
@@LABoyko ah … not comparable in the slightest. The massive risk of climbing k2 or Everest, harming others, Sherpas my family and my self , my terrible impact on environment so I feel people will think and I will think I’m a better person, is not even on the same scale. What planet you on!! Or mountain for that matter- it’s effecting your common sense, so it appears. Not sure u can compare the pointless idiocracy and risks involved of climbing K2/Everest to a person watching a video and commenting on it 😂 . I mean you did - but it’s senseless and stupid. Like these climbers 😂
