- I compare the Bronco Badlands vs a Non-KDSS 4Runner on an RTI ramp and the results aren't what you'd expect.

This is why 4Runner r still popular
Yea no kidding. Thanks for watching.
That was a bit of a surprise. Well done on the comparison video. Cool channel. New sub here.
Hey thanks! I appreciate the feedback.
Want to see stock 4Runner and a stock bronco instead of a modify 4Runner. I think that would be a good comparison instead of one modify 4 runner
I'll see if I can find one. 😉
I would submit that the Bronco is heavily modified from the factory...comparatively... so the question really becomes .." is it worth the price"
@@firebir11 I concur. Modified from the factory. So that’s why I was surprised at the minimal results.
@@firebir11Bronco with Sasquatch is like a TRD Pro trim. Price-wise... not that different $58K for a 4Runner TRD Pro and $58-62K for a Badlands Sasquatch.
Now you need a 4runner with kdss
I have a friend with one. Might have to test it out soon. 👍🏻
Very cool comparison! Go Toyota!
Hey thanks for watching! Not quite as good as your videos. But I appreciate it. 🙏🏻
Great real world test and comparison,I wonder if install an aftermarket manual swaybar disconnect will be even or more flex on 4Runner.wanderlost overland had his 4Runner upgraded on manual swaybar disconnect..
Thanks!
I saw those. Don’t particularly like the design.
Apex Design USA is coming out with a disconnect that looks pretty trick. Check out their Instagram.
Been running no front sway bar on my 4Runner for over a year now. Love how it rides on and off road.
Oh really… tell me more.
Subbed. Time to watch some videos. 🍿🤘🏻
Did you get a different 4Runner. The one on your CZcams has KDSS
@@DBCoffroad I still have the same 4Runner. Running no front sway with my kdss still working in the rear.
@@ORG4Runna oh interesting. Thanks for the info!
The Sasquatch bumpstops are bigger than the regular Badlands. You could easily make them smaller. I run my Badlands with a small level kit which gives extra droop and 35s. I get full articulation so the smaller bumpstops with 35s is fine.
Even better, make it even by getting aftermarket shocks and UCAs like your Toyota and it will go as far.
I’ve seen some people on the Bronco6G forum just trim the stock bump stops down. How did you do it?
What shocks did you end up going with?
The fox suspension will give you more drop which helps a lot.
I have the badlands non Sasquatch, i think we get more wheel travel because the come with 33s stock so we get smaller bumpstops vs SAS package.
Of course, I added my own 35x12.5 tires. Now Im looking at extended 2.5 shocks and UCAs to increase it further. Definitely the Bronco’s weakness. Furthermore, you should disconnect the front sway bar on the Toyota.
You're right! I forgot Ford limited the travel of the Sasquatch package a little bit for the "35s".
Curious what a stock TRD PRO 4Runner would do?
Yea I am too now.
And what a little modding on the Bronco would do.
What size tires was on the 4 runner?
35x12.5R17
@@DBCoffroad wow that’s big. I’m gonna make a wild guess and say it has a much longer rear shocks for the rear to have more droop hopefully to the max the links can handle safely and same for the front shocks to be as long as possible to do the same? From what it looks like with this test, it reveals how important the rear suspension gives articulation overall. The bronco needs to improve its articulation which I’m sure it’s capable of if you give it a longer shock travel. This is just my wild guess 😂

😉
You have Icon coil-overs and UCA’s on the 4Runner????
Icon UCAs
Fox 2.5 DSC shocks Front and Rear
Rear Icon 2.5" lift springs
@@DBCoffroad I’d expect that plus the limitations of the Bronco rear sway bar+ the Bronco being a long wheel base.
@@jeffreymceloryjr4155 I know wheel base makes a difference.
The point was to just compare two similar Offroad vehicles.
The 4Runner also has a rear sway bar.
@@DBCoffroad 4Runner is a great truck. Had they new one been released before the Bronco, I would have strongly considered it.
@@jeffreymceloryjr4155 I am curious to see what the next model will be like.
4Runner wheelbase is also less so the flex is likely about equal (with the 4R having sway bars connected vs not on Bronco). 4Runner is 109.8 vs Bronco 116.1.
From what I understand:
Shorter wheelbase only matters when calculating the RTI score. Shorter wheelbases travel higher up the ramp relative to their wheelbase. I'm not calculating RTI. Having a 3 digit RTI number doesn't mean much to me.
I'm just comparing two similar 4-door 4x4 SUVs on how they would perform on an obstacle.
Thanks for watching!
@@DBCoffroad A longer vehicle with the exact same travel will go much further up the ramp than a shorter one. If the vehicle was 6 feet longer the angle of the ramp would have much less effect on the angle of the vehicle. Think longer lever.
@@AZBADBOYz I appreciate the info.
Based on that logic shouldn’t the Bronco have done better?
Just trying to work it all out. Thanks!
@@DBCoffroad That's exactly my point, the 4Runner was actually more flexible 😁
I’ll buy your old 4Runner wheels and tires
Appreciate the offer, still want to hang on to them for a bit.
You really needed your square, as your measurements look quite a bit off in the video
They could be off a bit. The camera angle also doesn’t help. The general idea is how far each goes up the ramp, which can still be seen.
Thanks for watching!
The Bronco just keeps getting worse by the day. Looking at other CZcams vloggers coming up not liking this truck for various reasons and the price doesn't make things any better.
Ford has increased the price in increments to a total of $6000 over the last 5-6 months. For the exact same features.
