Used to work in the blacksmith shop there in the late 70s early 80s. It’s sad what happened to the Raceland Car Shops. Many good memories from those times!
my uncle Oscar Kazee worked there. New alot of people that did. I worked at Russell 2008 to 2010 wasnt much left of the Coal Hump Yard and the Manifest was just 4 stub tracks for marathon local.
My uncle worked there for 44 years. Sadly the car shop is pretty much deserted as is yard activity. The hump was taken out in the 90's . This used to be a very busy place. But now just a lot of memories
My dad remembers when that hump was put in back in the 50s...my grandpa had 40 sum years there too as a welder..ended up killing him...emphysema welding smoke

Hard to believe that the paint shop doesn't add graffiti as the last stage of the operation. You know, eliminate the middle man.😊

It's all dissolved now....pretty much abandoned...
