- Cross Norfolk Southern's 100-year-old Kenova Bridge over the Ohio River behind historic Nickel Plate Road steam locomotive no. 765 in footage from our upcoming documentary.
The 765 is on its way from Williamson, West Virginia to Conway, Pennsylvania in August, 2012 and is carrying a whistle from a Norfolk & Western locomotive Y6A class no 2173. Follow the 765 this year: www.fortwaynerailroad.org
The bridge, on NS' Pocahontas Division main line, carries essential freight rail traffic and supports economic development in the Tri-State region and Ohio River Valley: www.nscorp.com/nscportal/nscor... - Auta a dopravní prostředky
AWW MAN ANOTHER 10 SECONDS YOU COULD OF SEEN MY HOUSE
I bet when you all ran over the old C&O tracks, a flood of New River Train memories came back to mind.
Wow...I love that hooter whistle...
I always enjoy railfanning Kenova, WV, thats a freaking awesome video crossing in South Point on the NS
nice I have done some video of the bridge my parents live a few blocks down on the WV side
Cool video. Theres also a cool video of someone pacing nkp 765. It was really a cool shot
Great Shot, love that hooter, 765 turned into 1218 haha
2173 was a Y6B not Y6A
Why dose the 765 have that whistle
The 765 is wearing a N&W hooter whistle because it's traveling over former N&W trackage.
👍👍👍👍👍
I gotta ask what is the fascination with a hooter type whistle? They definitely are not as melodic as a multi chime. Especially when you've heard an NKP Berkshire with her OEM whistle. Nice video but no 765 cameo? At least you could have run a little dirty and given us some smoke over the top.
I thought the same until I heard it on the 765 during this trip. You're right, it's not as melodic as a multi chime but the echo off of the hills is haunting, especially from a distance. And I can say, it's about the loudest steam whistle I've ever heard lol.
Look like it's CGI
its not
