This is a great way to introduce people to not only welding but fitting too. Keeping the fast pace format to bring people in and then hit them with more in depth subjects like print reading and terminology. Keep up the great work guys

Good video. I would suggest anyone new to the job. Put the fitting in a vice or clamp it down and keep both hands on the power tool to operate.

First thing you should do is read the print and see how much fillet weld you need on this.. its typically about 1.09 x the thickness of the pipe, and you dont need all that weld..

While this weld is not too difficult if you are decent at tig pipe, it would have been nice if socket and slip on welds were covered in the course. It was rather embarrassing to tell the foreman I had never welded one of these.

Surely you have a proper flange-square in the shop? So much quicker and easier to get the flange squared. Also I noticed that your use of the flap disc was almost hamfisted. Never flap disc into a squre edge of pipe, as it uas a propensity to catch the sharp edge and biff you away, which was fairly evident. The actual weld was uniform, but maybe a little larger than required.
