- For 2024 I wanted to try something new with the way I approach my word of the year, and I have found it has had an impact on how I also approach different aspects of my life.

New Drinking Game: Take a shot every time I mention some form of the phrase “show up” 😂
Challenge accepted -- here with wine on a weeknight. 🍷🤣
Really loved this video, thanks for sharing.
Thank you 😊 I am glad you enjoyed it.
I tallied 12 'show up' phrases but admittedly wasn't the most focused. 🍻 My word of the year is 'intentionality' and I feel similarly about this word as I would 'alignment' -- is this deliberate? Is this actively chosen, or a reaction from habit or doing what's easy? For me, 2.5 months in, I've become more aware of things like phone scrolling (and am doing less of it), cultivating better sleep habits & a restful environment, and little environmental things around the house I can improve on -- things it's easy to skip doing when I'm not paying attention.
12 seems like such a small amount. 😂 ‘Intentionality’ is a really good word, and I can see how it closely relates to the word ‘alignment’. Phone scrolling is something that I need to work on. It ends up being such wasted time and can so easily turn in to doom scrolling.
I have only been picking a word of the year for three years or so but I do always create a lockscreen with it for my phone and also paste it into the front of my journals/planners…it definitely helps to be seeing it and thinking about it every day. Mine is usually inspired by both my card of the year and something I know I really want to manifest that year because those two factors always end up being very aligned…like for example this is a Chariot year for me as well as a year in which I need to figure out my next life steps so the word I chose is “direction.”
“I’m a Virgo rising” - oh how I loved that lol 😂 This is the first time I feel like I actually would see the reason to do the “words of the year”. I heard about it before, but your personal/ lived experience is inspirational. Thank you.
Nice to see you Heather! I like the idea of being more active I'm this process. 💜
Yesssss I loved this. Really enjoying your videos back again! 😊 I am a massive fan of the SMART goals too. I would def love to work more strategically with my word of the year so loved listening to your reflections and experiences. Very inspiring. Equinox blessings Heather ✨
Thanks Emily. 😊 Equinox blessings to you too x
For few years now I am using my card of the year and "The psychic tarot for the heart" (it is an oracle but with majors ) so this year I have the tower no 16... and the word on the card is Rebuilt. I started with the death card (Release) then Temperance (Balance) and last year the devil (master) I love how expansive the words are. What I usually do is after taking out all the other majors I pulled one card every week (sometimes more !) and there is also chakra cards in it (I remove them also but will use if needed) . Thank you for sharing !
Thank you for sharing your words with me, and also how you work with the deck. 💖 My word last year for the Death card was transformation, but I think release would probably have been more apt for how the year ended up playing out.
@@Heather_Tarot transformation also make sens for me and also the same author (John Holland) have another oracle called Psychic tarot and the number 13 card (death) word is Transformation !
Your core values video was so fire too!! I think about that one from time to time
No word of the year here! I don’t really get it like why
😆 That’s fair enough. It’s definitely not for everyone. I like having a focus for the year and it being a word seems a simple way to do it. 🙂
Also, thank you. I really enjoyed making that core values video. 😊
My word of the year is surprise. I'm working on being more receptive on the inside in looking at the way I view, react, respond to all the big and little surprises life offers up. Most of the time I am calm, measured, taking a moment to think about life's surprises-on the outside. Often on the inside I'm feeling very stressed, anxious, want to work fast, fast, fast. I'm working on having my inside feel calm, measured, even joyful. So I'm trying different things to make this happen. By surprise- I don't mean change, I mean unexpected. Not a tower moment either, more astonished So I journal and work my inside feelings out. I work at reframing the way I'm thinking to a more humorous way of seeing the surprise....humor really works for me. I also try to zoom out in my focus, asking what does this mean in the big picture?
I'm not the best at explaining myself here, maybe I would do better after playing the drinking game lol.
I think you have done a grand job of explaining yourself. 😊 Surprise is a really good choice, and one I don’t think I would’ve thought of. Journaling is such a huge part of what I do as well, and humour is also something that really works for me when reframing pretty much any situation… even when that means I am just laughing at my own ridiculousness 😆
@@Heather_Tarot Yes I laugh at myself often lol Thank you!
