I agree with PK, I think you’re a bit biased because you have a position in Pokémon investing. No hate to you, but nothing is liquid as stocks/crypto/forex. Money is instant selling at the market price and settlement for funds is usually 1-2 days depending on your broker. With Pokémon, majority of people are paying 85% and you have to find a buyer. Could be the same day, next day, a week later. But still not instant as clicking a button to sell a position in the stock market. I’ve been investing in Pokémon for a few years and been a trader for 8, I still wouldn’t put Pokémon investing over it. I think you could do fine in trading, but I also think you’re scared of volatility which is where the money is made in the market

The biggest thing that drives the Bullish mindset for me is that Pokemon is the IP king. Bigger than Star Wars, Harry Potter, Marvel. EVERYTHING!!! What other company/brand caters to 6 year old kids and 30-40 year old guys (mostly guys I assume) the same? There is none. It captures so many people. Pokemon isn’t going anywhere in my lifetime.
Modern gets shit on all the time, the grass is always greener elsewhere. Not sure what this PK is on about. There are vintage gatekeepers still to this day. But even outside of those there is a vocal majority of Npcs that only appreciate sets in hindsight when their value starts to increase. You see it in all markets. The same patterns of behaviour are seen. People are more likely to want something when someone else wants it. The thing that gets confused is that the young audience of Pokemon are not programmed the same. This is why new sets get a lot of attention from YT as they know they are catering to their younger audience for views. But if you asked those Yters doing these openings, a vast majority of them are not genuine towards modern they put on a show. CTR shits on pokemon every chance he gets. He hasnt got a clue about markets he was just fortunate in the plays he made at the time when he was looking for flips. I agree with Nomics when he basically said a bunch of nerds got lucky as their collections shot up. Barely any of them know markets even after the fact. A lot of this data that was shown in this vid is irrelevant. 2004 to 2014 didn't have an adult collector base that saw Pokemon as an asset class. That's no longer the case. Also, the argument that no one will be there to buy modern at higher prices negates the fact that the market is mainly made up of consumers and not investors. Buying an older box to open or collect makes up the vast majority of the market. Not sure why so many pretend like that's not the case.
