    Something about this gentleman's genuineness is powerful irresistible. I swear, I'd buy a used car from him in a second if I needed one and he recommended it. Haven't tried the tips yet, but I will tomorrow when my arthritis is (hopefully) better and I'm 100% sure his methods will work.

    I was looking how to soften up a new leather leash quickly and I just didn't have the time to order something and wait. Thank you for the simple video which is exactly what I was looking for and oddly couldn't find on CZcams.

    Thank you very much for this video. I was needing to soften up a new leather guitar strap, read all kinds of ideas online, and was planning to order softening products. 10 minutes time with this method and hand lotion... the strap is perfect. Thank you!

    Great tips on softening leather. I do leather crafts and my customers all want leather subtle at the time of picking up the new wallet, belt etc. They don’t want to take the time to break it in naturally. Thank you. Best regards, Richard

    Thank you! My wife got me a new, really nice looking leather belt that is as stiff as spring steel. I look forward to being able to finally wear it!

    Thanks for the tip! I bought a new competition adjustable leather rifle sling and it was stiff as heck. Now it’s a lot easier on the arm.

    Would've never thought about skin lotion as a leather conditioner. But...that does make perfect sense.

    Great video! What if the strap has stitching along the edges? Will doing that break the thread?

    If I want a soft belt that’s tooled, should I soften and then tool, or tool and then soften?

    • @BigBendSaddlery
      @BigBendSaddlery  Před 3 lety +2

      I would say soften first. But it will get a little stiffer when it is tooled because you are compacting the leather while it is cased. I would gently soften after tooling.

    And if the leather still refuses to cooperate after all that, he will scare it straight. that's what the Glock to the left of that rubbing post is for

      Hello! Soaking it in Lexol for a day can help with that. Thank you!

    • @jennabreeze2781
      @jennabreeze2781 Před 3 lety +1

      @@BigBendSaddlery do you place it in a shallow bucket or something so that the leather (bridle and reins in my case) are completely submerged for 24hrs? I think I'll have to buy a couple of bottles of lexol to fully submerge a bridle and reins.
      Also, it would be really awesome if you could do a video showing old leather restoration. 😁 Thank you for this video, it was really great.

    What if it’s the foot strap in a toe post flip flop? Quite a thick rough thing

    • @BigBendSaddlery
      @BigBendSaddlery  Před 2 lety +1

      That's a tricky one! you might could fit a piece of dowel rod or small straight piece of wood underneath the strap and try to rub it with that. That's a hard place to get to.
