We've all been through Sims 4 CC not showing up in CAS / Build mode 2021! But how to fix Sims 4 CC not working after update 2020? It's super easy, you just have to follow the methods shown in this video and your Sims 4 CC will show up in game and therefore, will be enabled!
This whole Sims 4 custom content not showing up in game can be quite frustrating at times, especially when your Sims 4 CC is showing up at startup, but for some reason, your Sims 4 CC are not showing up in Build Mode / CAS.

Okay so i download sims 4 CC folders and for some reason my sims react to other sims and a little moodlet pops up that says something like “ embarrassed from being walked in on” is there a way to fix that?
Please try to move some of your cc from your Mods folder to a new folder and every single time you do this, open your game and see if you still get that specific moodlet. If so, completely close your game & keep on moving cc in small batches from your Mods folder to that new folder and open your game until your problem is fixed. Try to identify the problematic cc and delete it. Hope it helps!

If your options are not showing up, you can always repair your game through Origin and see if it makes a difference. Let me know if this helps!

Do you happen to have any outdated mods/cc in your Mods folder? If so, please try to remove those, delete your localthumbcache.package file from your Sims 4 folder, repair your game through Origin, download the latest versions for your mods and put those into your Mods folder. Let me know if this helps!

My clothing cc shows up but none of my building cc shows up why is that?
Please make sure to remove any outdated/broken cc/mods that you may have in your Mods folder. Replace your specific mods & cc with their updated versions.

my sims was recently updated and all of my cc where removed but i restored them but some dont appear and the columns have empty spaces.

I'm new to mods/cc for TS4 and the recent patches have supposedly broken/disabled a lot of mods so I'm gonna try this and see if it works. hopefully it does since nothing else has, fingers crossed ig 🤞

No, unfortunately, that's the process. You have to delete your mods, download the updated versions for each and every one of them and put them into your Mods folder.

I did everything in the video correct, I did the first way you showed with the Mods folder. I saw the new Mods folder and it was good. I added the Scripts mods in game options, i dont have any anti virus program. And i just got my cc about 1 or 2 weeks ago and it didnt say outdated??? as i put my 8 hair mods in the Mods folder only 3 show up?? i need help!!!!
Hiya, so here’s what works for me!
- putting the cc into the main Mods folder (like this Mods folder > cc.package, not into a subfolder aka Mods > clothes folder > cc.package)
- unzipping the cc before putting it into the mods folder (if the cc says archive file/zip/rar, then we need to unzip it and paste the content inside the mods folder; we can do this by double clicking on the file > select the files > paste them into your Mods folder
Or by using a file extractor program aka Winrar)
- clearing our game’s cache (this is a temporary file that usually gets piled up with broken files from broken mods) = delete the localthumbcache file from The Sims 4 folder
- resetting the Mods folder once again + putting our cc back from the Mods old folder

My mods folder still has mods in it after I logged out of origin and when I open the sims I see the cc names but when I go to create a sim I only see some of my cc not all. Idk what to do atp
It's always best to remove all of your script mods & install the latest versions whenever an update comes out.
If deleting & updating your mods does not work for you, you can try this:
1. Make sure you have mods&cc enabled in your game > close your game
2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (but keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on)
3. Open your game & close it straightaway
4. A new Mods folder should pop up
5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder
6. Download the latest versions for your script mods
7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder

Idk where I went wrong but I did not automatically get a new mods folder in my Sims 4 folder (after placing the OG mods folder on my desktop) and then it said my game wouldn't run right( I assume that's from the deleted files?) so now I am having to redownload my game
Did the mods folder stay in the TS4 folder even though you dragged it onto desktop?
Then we can try another way around! Put the mods back & rename it into mods old, do not delete the mods old, keep it there for copying cc only & then open the game, make SURE the mods & cc are enabled in game options (if those are NOT enabled, the game won’t generate another folder), apply changes, exit, reopen game & then exit.
It should appear this way!
I downloaded MC command and Woohoo Wellness and it shows up under the custom content category in the menu but the mods aren't activated in game. What should I do?
When you look into your mods folder do those mods end in rar/zip? Did you unzip them before putting into your Mods folder? Did you also put them directly into your Mods folder? (not into a subfolder)
so like it showed and then after the update its all gone but when I go to ts4 mod manger its their and loaded
Are all of your Mods still in your Mods folder? Did you remove the broken ones (such as MCCC, Slice of Life, More Columns, UI cheats) & install the latest versions for them?
Did you also enable mods & cc in your game options?
Ok when I deleted the files and opened sims 4,steam is saying it needs updating? It went from 10 secs to an hour and idk if that’s a good thing I’ll update you

I can’t move my mods out. It only says copy and then when I do press copy it says something abt storage. But I have my 2tb hard drive connected and set up in my computer.

Hello! I'm so sorry to hear this! Did you make sure to update all of your mods after the 25th of February update? Please try to follow once again these steps:
Rename your Electronic Arts folder in 'Electronic Arts OLD' and make a copy of this 'Electronic Arts OLD' folder & paste it on your Desktop, just to have a backup of your save files (do not delete this folder, you'll need it later on!). If you happen to use an antivirus, please try to add an exception for both your Sims 4 & Origin programs, as well as for the following websites: thesims.com & origin.com. Make sure to allow both Sims 4 & Origin within your firewall.
Repair your game through Origin (go to Game Library > right click on Sims > Repair), then try to launch it and see if it works. If so, go to Game Options > Other > enable cc, mods and script mods. You can now fully exit your game, go to your Documents folder and a new EA folder should show up. Now you're free to copy your Saves, Tray and Screenshots files from your old Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders to your new Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders (located in your new EA folder). Launch your game and check if everything works properly. If so, you can copy your old cc from your old Mods folder to the newly generated Mods folder (in small batches!!) and make sure to open your game every single time you paste those just to make sure that everything works properly. If you still encounter this issue, please try to identify the problematic cc and remove it from your Mods folder. Btw, you should place your cc into your main Mods folder, do not use subfolders as some cc might not show up in the game. As far as mods go, make sure to download once again the updated versions for your mods (especially if you're using Adult mods!), extract them, copy and paste those files in your new Mods folder. Open your game and check if your issue is fixed.

1. Did you place those cc into your main Mods folder (not into a subfolder)?
2. If you downloaded recolors for them, did you also download the meshes?
3. Do those cc require certain packs or anything?
@@Darielle For questions number 1 and 3, there's no problem, for number 2, what's meshes BTW? Based on the download site, they said like:
• My mesh / All morphs / All LODs
• Custom thumbnails
• HQ Complete

I'm only having problems with my presets not showing up in-game :( I had made my own preset and I tried to open the game to test it out and it doesn't even show up and I even tried downloading someone else's preset into my game to see if it's just my cc and it's not showing their cc in my game as well and I had no idea what to do, I downloaded simstrouble hair and tested it out and her hair shows up just fine in my game so it's obviously just the presets.
Hey! I decided to start getting mods for the first time and I started with mccommands center I followed everything and it doesn't show up and then I followed your video and it still doesn't work. When I tried to load it back the mods folder still didn't come back on my mac so I don't know whats going. on, it's downloaded but wont show up in game
Hello! Did you put your mods into your main Mods folder? Don't put your mods in subfolders as those won't show up/work in your game. Also, did you unzip those files first? MCCC comes in an archive and you need to use some sort of file extractor program (such as Winrar, 7 zip) to extract those files. Let me know if this helps!

IMPORTANT NOTE: I've probably said this many times, but guys, BEFORE following the steps shown in this video, please copy and paste your whole Electronic Arts folder (located in Documents) somewhere on your computer (on one of your local disks (D:) or (E:) or (F:) or whatever your disk's name might be) or on your Desktop just to MAKE SURE that you have a BACKUP for your Saves, Tray and Mods files.

That's strange. Did you enable your wi-fi? Also, did you turn on Online Mode in Origin? The update should be automatically installed once your Origin program is connected to the Internet.
My all cc shows up at startup, but when I get to CAS my clothes don’t show up, just a few cc hair shows up. I have tried everything here but it isn’t working, yes I unzipped the files and Yes I placed them in the proper mods folder. Can you please help me?

Hi! I think you’ve had they most effective ways of fixing mods that I’ve seen but nothing seems to work for me. Things like a new mods folder regenerating after signing out of origin and going back into the sims and other steps don’t work and I wonder if it’s because I’m using a Mac.
Is there anyway you could give some tips for how to get mods to show up on a Mac, specifically M1?

Ok so I tried the extra steps you suggested in your newest video including deleting the Game Versions file but for some reason nothing is happening.

Hello there! I'm so sorry to hear this! No, I haven't really heard about these issues. But did you make sure to unzip your cc before putting those into your main Mods folder (if those have a zip/rar extension)? Have you also updated your game & made sure to enable mods, cc as well as script mods in your game?

All of my individual cc works but when I download a bedroom or something with multiple items, bathroom, nursery for example, it doesn’t show up in the game? I tried taking all the individual files out and put them in the tray folder. How can I fix this? I love the individual cc but I also want to download rooms.
The cc items (those files that have the extension .package) should always be placed in your Mods folder. In your Tray folder you should only have files with the following extensions: .bpi, .trayitem, .blueprint.

I think you have to go into the game disable the mods, apply changes, then exit out. Then go back into the game, apply the mods, apply changes and there should be a new mods folder named “Resource!”

You can alternatively rename your current Mods folder in 'Mods old' (with your game closed), then launch your game, completely exit it & a new Mods folder should pop up. Make sure you're renaming the actual & correct Mods folder (the one located in Docs/EA/TS4)
I've tried everything you've listed in this video and nothing has worked. im not sure what else to try, im hoping it doesn't have to do with the fact that my moved my sims 4 game file to a different drive, my D: drive. if you have any advice or know a fix, please let me know

Please try to copy your entire EA folder somewhere else on your computer, just to have a backup for it (on your local disk/ on Desktop), move your entire Mods folder (that is located in your Sims 4 folder) to Desktop, open your game, close it and a new, empty Mods folder should show up. Try to copy your old cc (from your old Mods folder) to the newly generated Mods folder in SMALL BATCHES and every single time you paste those, open your game and see if everything works fine. If you encounter any issues, please try to identify the culprit and delete it from your new Mods folder.

You can also try to:
1. Put all of your cc in your main mods folder (don't use subfolders)
2. Delete the localthumbcache.package, options.ini & gameversion.txt files from your Sims 4 folder (there's no need to worry if those show up after opening your game as those are automatically generated, you just have to delete those once)
3. Make sure that your antivirus is not blocking your Sims 4 & Origin apps (if you're using one, try to add these programs to the allowed apps as well as to the exceptions list)
4. Repair your game via Origin
5. Open your game, enable cc and script mods once again, apply changes, exit & reopen your game
6. Make sure to go in CAS > filter by Custom Content and see if your CC show up

Hello there! I'm so sorry to hear that! You actually need to copy your cc, tray and saves files from your old EA folder to your newly generated one to get all of your cc & saves back into your game. You shouldn't also copy any outdated/broken mods in your new EA folder! Let me know if I could be of any help!
I followed everything u said but whenever I go back into Sims 4 after I delete the options and the other files, allow CC is default on for me so it wont set a new Mod file. Therefore not fixing the problem, is there anything I can do about that??
Hello! Yes, there is a solution for that. Make sure you have your game completely closed and then go to your Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4 folder. Remove your Options.ini file from there. This will basically reset your game options and you should be able to now turn it on in your game, hope it makes sense

i have a really frustrating problem. the cc shows up when i start the game, it shows the "script modifications". but when i go into create a sim or change a sim, i can't see the content. i can't see the items i downloaded does anyone know how to fix this problem?
We can try to reset the Mods folder, so here we go!
1. Make sure you have mods&cc enabled in your game > close your game
2. Rename your Mods folder into Mods old (but keep your Mods old folder bcs we'll need it later on)
3. Open your game & close it straightaway
4. A new Mods folder should pop up
5. Copy all of your cc (but no script mods!!) from your Mods old to the new Mods folder
6. Download the latest versions for your script mods
7. Put your script mods into your new Mods folder

all of my old cc is showing up and working fine. it’s just recently today that my new cc that i have just downloading isn’t showing up in cas or build mode . will this work for that??
Yes, you can try to follow these steps, but first things first make sure to copy & paste your entire EA folder somewhere on your computer, just to have a backup for your saves, mods and so on. Keep in mind that some cc won't show up in cas/build mode if you put those in subfolders, so I suggest putting your mods & cc in your main Mods folder. Don't forget to update all of your mods, as those can lead to these cc related issues. I truly hope this helps!

Hello! I'm so sorry to hear that! You can try to delete your GameVersion.txt from your Sims 4 folder. And if you happen to use an antivirus, try to open it, go to settings > Exceptions and there should be a box with the heading 'files and folders', choose your Origin and Origin Games folders (that are located on your main disk > Program Files x 86 > Origin, respectively Origin Games), as well as your Electronic Arts folder (located in Documents).
You can also allow Origin & Sims 4 within your firewall.
Also, make sure to enable Online mode in Origin & delete your localthumbcache.package file from your Sims 4 folder. Repair your Sims 4 game through Origin (right click>Repair). Place all of your cc into your MAIN mods folder (don't use subfolders, as some cc won't show up in the game), open your game and your cc should show up. Let me know if this helps!

I have lots of CC and mods and my game runs slow and now I can't get pass the welcome screen. I've Deleted some of the CC and mods but nothing works. Can you tell me what it is I'm doing wrong , or help me? How can I have lots of CC and mods W/O my game lagging and not working?
Please make sure that you don't have any outdated/broken cc. You can try to use the 50/50 method to identify the problematic cc. The 50/50 cleaning method is simple: copy your entire Mods folder to another directory and reinstall half of it. Load up your game to see if your problem still remains. If the problem is gone, then you know the problematic file is in the half of your custom content that you didn't reinstall. You can then repeat the method again and again until you find the culprit.
Delete that problematic cc, remove your localthumbcache.package and Options files from your Sims 4 folder, repair your game through Origin, open it, go to game options and enable cc, mods and script mods, apply changes, completely close your game, launch your game once again and your game should work properly. I use McAfee® Total Protection what do I do it won't let me exclude folders? only single files in the folders?
So if you do have McAfee, you can do this to exclude folders:
1 On the Home Page, open the Virus and Spyware Protection drawer
2 Do one of the following
•To exclude an item from your custom scan, click Scan Your PC, then click Run a custom scan.
•To exclude an item from your scheduled scan, click Scheduled Scan.
3 Open the Excluded Files and Folders drawer.
4 Click Add Folder.

Hello! I know, this pop up always shows up whenever a new update is released! Enable CC, mods and script mods in your Game options. Completely close your game, delete all of your mods that you have in your Mods folder and download the updated versions for them.

hi! i dont know if you are going to see this, but i have an old mac and i have installed the sims legacy edition. I installed the game and all my cc recently, but most of it wont show up in the game. For example, i have ten hairstyles downloaded and only 1 or 2 will show up, but they all show up in the mods folder that appears when you open the game. I did everything you said in the video but nothing worked :(

You can follow these steps: rename your Electronic Arts folder in 'Electronic Arts OLD' and make a copy of this 'Electronic Arts OLD' folder & paste it on your Desktop, just to have a backup of your save files. If you happen to use an antivirus, please try to add an exception for both your Sims 4 & Origin programs, as well as for the following websites: thesims.com & origin.com. Make sure to allow both Sims 4 & Origin within your firewall.
Repair your game through Origin and then try to launch it and see if it works. If so, go to Game Options > Other > enable cc, mods and script mods. You can now fully exit your game, go to your Documents folder and a new EA folder should show up. You're free to copy your Saves, Tray and Screenshots files from your old Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders to your new Saves, Tray and Screenshots folders (located in your new EA folder). Launch your game and check if everything works properly. If so, you can copy your old cc from your old Mods folder to the newly generated Mods folder (in small batches!!) and make sure to open your game every single time you paste those just to make sure that everything works properly. If you still encounter this issue, please try to identify the problematic cc and remove it from your Mods folder. Btw, you should place your cc into your main Mods folder, do not use subfolders as some cc might not show up in the game. As far as mods go, make sure to download once again the updated versions for your mods (especially if you're using Adult mods!), extract them, copy and paste those files in your new Mods folder. Open your game and check if your issue is fixed.

If you uninstall your game, will your builds/sims and gallery followers and stuff still be there if you reinstall it?
Yes, your builds and households will be still there as long as you backup your EA folder. As far as gallery followers go, those are strictly tied to your Origin account.
