Watching **EUROVISION SONG CONTEST: THE STORY OF FIRE SAGA** for the first time | IT'S ACTUALLY GOOD

- While I sit here patiently waiting for Legend of Kora to come to Netflix, I decided this week I'd react to Eurovision Song Contest: The Legend Fire Saga. And this week I decided to bring a friend along with me! Eurovision Song Contest: The Legend Fire Saga is a film that was meant to be released in time with the actual Eurovision 2020 contest. But the contest was cancelled for 2020. The movie stars Will Farrell and Rachel McAdams as Icelandic musicians hoping to make it into this year's contest. I wasn't sure what to expect going into it but I was very surprised!

that singing party was all eurovision winners or contestants, so was the guy singing Portuguese when they arrived in scotland.
@Dick Kmetz dang bots, get outta my lawn
It blows my mind that you can watch this and _not know_ that this is not even a parody. This is just what Eurovision is like. No joke. The real funny part is how accurate this all is.
Well, almost everyone in the U.S., where I am, is totally unaware of the contest’s existence haha.
@@airmobiledivision7759 that completely blows my mind. Literally the most watched non sporting event in the world.
@@littlemissmello SAME like in the UK IT'S A MASSIVE DEAL EVEN IF WE LOSE EVERY TIME
You know the point system is changed to make them win right?
You know england could never host lmao
You know iceland didn't broadcast esc in 1974 so seeing abba win isn't possible
The techno vikings are accurate tho
@@ajmalaika1287 hahaha at least you got to host it in the movie lmao
my favorite lines:
"The elves went too far"!
"ill just leave this here in case you need to do more killings"
IVE NEVER HIT THE VIDEO SO QUICKLY!!! I loved this movie, already watched it twice!
Will Farrell been a ESC fan for many years thanks to his Swedish wife and her family.
Ah man I wanted to see your reaction to “the elves went too far” great reaction though 😂
You guys sound like you'd enjoy real Eurovision. : )
Watched it when it came out. Immediately downloaded the soundtrack. Have watched the whole thing and listened to the soundtrack multiple times. Will actually was introduced to Eurovision because his wife is Swedish and everyone would gather to watch the contest when they were visiting Sweden.
I‘m about to watch the movie a second time in 2 hours with my friends and then you post this 😂😂
Love it 😁
What is the problem if I want to have sex with my sister ? It’s my business
This movie is great! It's for Eurovision fans and just... So fun.
The big party song had winners like Conchita Wust and Netta.
The craziness of this movie is just great.
How do you watch a eurovision movie and not know any of the winners/contestants?! No hate, just wondering because to me that was the best part of the movie
Yeah, i was a little surprised she chose to watch this movie without knowing Eurovision at all. Not complaining though, i really enjoyed the movie and am glad she liked it too :)
I knew of Eurovision but the only winner I knew was Conchita. I do think it helps to know how extra the real contest actually is though.
I didn't know anything about Eurovision before this movie. I didn't know it was real, now I wanna go
i never watched the actual eurovision
@@kaivonnix1100 i watch it practicly every year, its fun and sometimes cringey and that makes it fun too :D Watch one of the last 5 years and dont peek who won, you can make your own top 10 and check if you got it right :)
The reaction I didn't know I need it. Loved it! 🤣

The fact the Icelandic point giver was the guy playing Olaf asked them to play Ja Ja Ding Dong on the 2021 live grand finale was just hilarious
This movie is amazing! And this song omg I'm in love haha but OFC JAJA DING DONG IS THE BEST hahah
The stage scenes were shoot at the real event in TelAviv 2019, so with the real audience. You should view some of the real ESC shows, especially of the last years.
this and Palm Springs were my favorite comedies from this year so far.
Palm Springs was so good!
Don't know who this Brian guy is, but I like 'im!
What a duo, very fun to watch. :)
Also, check out Dragon Prince, just so you get hyped for that 4th season!
I'm surprised you didn't know ABBA won Eurovision. I liked the movie though it could have been funnier/better. The songs are good, especially Husavik.
" "gram" norton"
me: **eye twitch**
Great movie have watched many times and would watch again
think about this you are a reaction channel , 210million of us europeans watch the eurovision song contest every year and love watching reactions of it on you tube , you do the maths
so I imagine youll be reacting to eurovision in may right?
You should react to real performances of the real eurovision song contest
next time eurovision happens (let's hope in 2021), you could react to the final. :p
And now there is a 50/50 Chance that Eurovision 2023 (the real event) will take place in exactly THAT Arena (from the movie)! Can't wait.
I don't know if I'm the only one that caught all the incest vibes. The brother/sister joke, their last names basically sounding like Ericks Daughter and Ericks Son, double trouble being about something so wrong feeling so right. The guy talking about how half of the kids in the town are his. Maybe that was just me. 🤣
Yeah, it was done on purpose as a joke. It's a big Icelandic cliche that everyone there is related. They even have an infamous app that most single people there have installed on their phones that tells them whether someone they meet is related to them.
Glad you enjoyed this RomCom
You both are brilliant and hilarious, however Brian.... hawt :O
That movie was... ...interesting.,,,
Great video though, sending love from Iceland
Pierce Brosnan: the founding member of ABBA
When you realize the guy the elves stabbed played Beorn in 'The Hobbit'
My first trip alone to a foreign country was also Iceland. I was 20 years old and (I'm sorry Icelanders) but I also never learned a word of Icelandic. I know it's respectful to do some basic language research, but I was young and focused on landscape and hiking. Had a wonderful time, and everyone was so nice and accommodating. I'm trying to get my friends to go and this time learn a bit of Icelandic before we go lol
I like that this movie don't make fun of Eurovision. That was my fear when I heard of this movie. But they really did a great job at making fun of everything surrounding Eurovision, but not Eurovision itself, and I love that. The drama surrounding the real thing is often at a fever pitch so it fits right in. Examples from 2023 are the feud online this year of fans of Finland (Käärijä) and Sweden (Loreen), the jury scandal in Poland and the host country UK flopping and ending up in second to last place.
I got “never enough” vibes
It´s not Rachel McAdams voice you hear in the songs in the movie. It's Swedish Molly Sandén. Rachel is lipsynching.
A couple of points:
1. The jumping whales are a bit cheesy, but also appropriate given that Húsavík is the centre for Icelandic whale watching. There are two competing tour companies and a whale museum.
It's also fitting given Sigrit's connection to the supernatural.
2. ABBA got their international break through winning ESC. Before that they'd been famous in Sweden for about two years. (I saw and heard them perform "Ring Ring" live in 73 when I was just short of four years old. It's one of my first strong memories.)
3. I like Pierce Brosnan as an actor, but his attempts at speaking Icelandic are cringe worthy. In my opinion they should have used Icelanders for the Icelandic characters.
4. The bus stop scenes are also cringe:
If there's only one stop it should be located centrally, not outside the town.
As is, it's placed north of the town and the bus moves to/from the north, AWAY from the nearest airport and Reykjavík.
5. When presenting the results of the semi final they don't apply any of the lower scores from each nation.
6. When Lars returns to Iceland after the semi it's totally unrealistic that nobody congratulates him.
17:22 Oh woah, I didn't know that.
Watch Stranger than Fiction with Will Farrell. It’s a pretty good film actually.
The movie was cute but bit overlong and Ferrell’s character was unlikable half of it (but of course he has to “get the girl” since it’s an US film). And there could have been more Eurovision jokes but the ones that were there were nice.
That movie is my kind of humor
I loved this movie, but moreso for the Euro music as it's my favorite genre
You know Evanescence and I immediately like you more
A ship of people blow up and this dude says, “Take the ring…and the bracelet, too!” LOL
Dude is dead inside 😂. He has positive things to say through the whole movie. The movie panders to lgbt+ heavily and he loves it. Then at the end he's critical like it is barely worth watching. He needs therapy.
I’m late to this party, as I just saw this movie a couple of months ago, but I must say I loved it! The songs are terrific and so is the acting. I don’t always like Will Ferrell films because he’s too over-the-top and not necessarily funny but this one hit it out of the park!
I have no idea how I got here Steph, but what a banger of a movie! Just to let you know, Graham Norton is from the non-British part of Ireland :) I have no idea when this may apply to you next but, I have seen in music reactionary spaces, you can start a war in 0.5 seconds by calling an Irish person British. You probably already know but Ireland is now divided into "Republic of Ireland" and Northern Ireland (which is under British rule, there is a long history between the two islands and Irish folks have suffered alot of oppression due to the conflict, there's a famous image "No blacks; No dogs; No Irish"). It can be a sensitive topic and I just wouldn't want you to get thrown to the wolves in your comments 💚🧡 Peace and love from a half English, half Irish fan, and, currently LOVING your Attack on Titan series!
Handsome Brian needs to watch the real Eurovision this year!
Watch the Greatest Showman if you love the music and got chills
Those bloopers tho 😂
Oh it’s painful to watch non europeans watch this but also highly entertaining 😂
Stephanie please please PLEASE read the avatar comics. Specifically the search. The search is the best story so far
U should watch Don’t look up
LOVE THIS!!!!!! Great reaction! You two are amazing together! Can you please check out Julie and the Phantoms? It's a series on Netflix. It also has music in it. Great story, Beautiful music, and amazing acting. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you won't be able to get the music out of your head!
I was a bit split on this movie, it was essentially made by the people who make Eurovision so it was a bit cringe at times, although they did allow it to take the piss out of the competition a bit.
So awesome but why are his glasses soo thick this a bit distracting 🤣
So, did y'all get to watch the real Eurovision after this? 🤔
Lol,
In iceland they didn't broadcast eurovision in 1974...
So the idea of seeing abba win is a bit weird

@@maurabewsmoviecorner6911 wut. Is that some movie?..
WATCH THE DRAGON PRINCE IN NETFLIX WHILE YOU WAIT FOR LEGEND OF KORRA
Americans doing Arizona State proud.
your friend is cute, whats his ig? :)
Lvlvlv the movie
Did you just call Graham northan a British icon he is Irish not British
Yeah, but he actually represents the UK at the Eurovision contest as he is the commentator for the UK not ireland, he also works on British TV not Irish TV. His nationality is Irish but he is famous for British TV.
Im such a EUROFAN and honestly I found the movie very cringeworthy. There were A lot of cool actual contestants.
But there were sooo many mistakes. Unbelievable stuff is Ok unless you base it on an actual event with rules....
You can't have a show about the olympics and butcher the point system for the protagonist to win...
GUYS IM JUST HAPPY AMERICAN EUROVISION WAS CANCELLED OK?!.😥
*edit. It was not.
I am upset now.
Europe doesn't want this.
Nobody wants this.
The french presenter speaking English was just so wrong, it would cause national outrage if that happened. There's quite a few other mistakes too
@@amelie3012 Yes! I also found the voting glitches and rule breaking annoying. Like? Voting is already chaotic. You really didn't have to bend all of the rules in the first place!🤣🤣
It feels illegal to watch this as an American, especially the song-along scene
