Hurrah! You can get it off your mind now. That's like our said 'POLAR VORTEX' here in USA. Anyway, i heard it took 55 lives, way to many. The Southerner blokes get hurt the worst by it b/c they're not ready/used to it. Mostly it's just misery for us Norther blockes, and stuff breaks, that you forget about or to take in. Then it's ova (I'm turning into an Aussie-lol). I was chatting to my 86 y.o. neighbor, and said "In the future when we hear Polar Vortex, we're going to get the frights!" Glad.
Polar Vortex Aye" Sounds like some sort of bear. Awright mate gotta go and feed the chooks. gunna be a bloody scorcher. Translation... I have to go now and feed the chickens before it gets very hot. John
Glad to hear that you are both alright. I´ve been wondering, wether you still make biochar. If you still are, it would be wonderful for you to make another video on it and maybe even an update on the areas, where you already applied it to. Cheers.
Yes I still make biochar. I have an idea to make bigger amounts. We have a lot of big old dead trees that are no good for sawmill timber and too much for firewood so I have been working out a way to do a big amount. I haven't made a video on biochar for a while I thought people would be sick of it but lately there has been a bit of interest so I better make a video when the ground is dry enough to drive on. John
Yair, luckily it turned out pretty tame in the end John. The main problem will be cleaning out all the stinking freezers down in Townsville. An old friend in 1 of the God's Waiting Rooms down there told me this evening that they don't expect the power back on for quite a while. Though surprisingly little rain there. Also remember the "Good Old Days" when the battery back-up systems would run the phone services for several days if the power was down? Ain't progress grand? 🙄😱😉
@@farminglifeaustralia6716 Let me guess. They needed the extra pack to get their EV back to the lip of the range for the run downhill to home base? 🤔😉😊
John, I’m happy to hear that you and Pat made it through okay and nothing was damaged. The power outages are more of an annoyance we get them as well and plan for them… John
@@shooterjohn7163 Thanks very much. Yeah the power is pretty unreliable. Ergon are constantly working on it up here. I don't think the network is in very good order in the bush. John
Yes. The weather is hot as hell at the moment and very humid. Not good for doing anything except for an hour or two after sunrise and just before sunset.
Thanks for the update, glad everything is well with minimal disruption
Thanks. Now we just have to dry out. John
Happy days ahead. Thanks for the good news report.
Glad you are both safe and suffered no real damage. We had a bit of wind and rain on Thursday in Mackay, but it settled down early in the afternoon.

I expected worse from the cyclone. The local tower just replaced some batteries pulled out 190 amp hour, put in 110 amp hour. John

each airport has weather station because anytime things can change locally mist fog as opposed to satelite reports that are limited.

Us too! We were a bit worried for a while. John
Was it worse north,or south of you. Grass looks great. You going to be making hay soon?
I wasn't really bad north or south. Maybe a bit more wind just south of us. Nothing like what was forecast. John
