We just got back from the former USA and our son there has an electric chain saw chain sharpener. I used it to sharpen up 3 of his chains in 15 min and it really does the job. It makes sure both sides of the chain are sharp. I have bought a blower attachment for my air hose that I can fill with acetone and I get away from spray cans which seem to get more and more expensive and the acetone just cuts the mess well and it is really cheap too. Thanks John. Jim
sorry to hear the rain has not stopped.but we know we can't live without it. cleaned my chainsaw last week.i don't know how it was still working it was rotten.sawdust and old oil.what a mess.hope you and pat are well.stay safe. gary.
John, I liked your review on the 70cc Perla Barb chainsaw so much, I bought one ☝️. It’s a great saw and runs well. I see you are still getting a lot of rain up north. Tassie is in drought and water restrictions we set in place a couple of weeks ago, but since we had one night of rain which slightly eased the situation minimally. Hopefully we get some follow up rain soon? Rest video mate. Hopefully it eases up a bit for you so you can get a bit done.
I have a Tormek sharpener like yours as well. I’ve had it for about 12 years and it has sharpened 100’s and 100’s of knives axes anything with an edge. Does a wonderful job on my wood chisels and lathe tools too… John
John a suggestion for your chains. Take a bucket a cup or so of powdered laundry detergent and hot water. Put the detergent into the bucket and add enough water to cover the chain with at least an inch of water. Mix in your detergent and let the chain soak for awhile. All of the pitch and gum will come right off. Just wash with water and once you sharpen the chain put a little oil on the chain or just run the saw and let the oiler oil it. I do a number of chains at a time so sort of a batch cleaning and sharpening…John

G'day Jim I bet you were glad to get home. Its stopped raining the last few days and getting cooler. John
I do the same thing when it is too wet.
Love the wet grinder. Jim
I am sure a lot of people in the country sharpen things when it rains. The wet grinder is really good can sharpen scissors like a razor. John

Thanks Gary we are both good and the rain has stopped the last few days. The bar oil and saw dust is a recipe for instant mess. John
I haven't carried a knife on my belt a long time now. I'm a working bloke now. Letting you know my friend, we're still here! (former USA) HA!
Going around with a knife is a big no no in Australia now. The only ones with knives in town now are the people who plan to do mischief. John
Great channel mate, we always watch you guys.
Would be good to see more fishing videos now you have the boat 👍
OK I will take that on board. We are planning to go out next week. John

We are behind need to sell cattle but still to wet. It is starting to dry up not getting inches now just enough to keep it wet. John

They seem to be a good tool. John
@@farminglifeaustralia6716 they are very well built and excellent sharpeners.

Oven cleaner as so works well 🍻
Also
@@leighphillips1913 I shy away from oven cleaner due to the fact it is essentially straight lye.
