Tim said to tell you John that this video was really good. We all know where this BS is headed, and I am heartbroken for the farmers. The regulators and powers that be wouldn't have lifted a finger on a farm, lived on the land, or even moved their fat asses off an office chair, and yet they make the decisions with the stroke of a pen that ruin hard working people's lives. Makes me sick, and sad to see everything being ruined. Thank God for farmers like you John xx Cathi xx
Nice work John. Decisions made by government affecting every level of society are based upon how much $$ big business has dropped into each respective political party going forward. The single biggest priority of the Labor/Green ratbags (and equally the Libs) is to be re-elected for another term. Can you imagine the political contributions Woolies, Coles and their ilk drop into the party coffers at a national or local level? Aside from the fact we live in a capitalist society where business can chare what they want, it's an individual decision whether you pay the price, or not. The Labor/Green mob love inflation on everything as it massively increases the GST take which helps them doctoring the budget books, also know as fairytales. Don't even start me on Woolies and Aldi barring Australia Day merchandise. What a disgrace. You won't see me gracing their stores EVER again and I hope plenty of other people follow suit. Keep up the good work.
I agree. The Bible for politicians 1 Get in power 2 Stay in power.3 Get every advantage I can for myself. And the only time we are mentioned on this list is coming up to elections and the list says. See 1 and 2. John
Unfortunately here in Australia farmers are controlled by the 2 big supermarkets - while the supermarkets pull in massive profits the poor old farmers and consumers are the ones that pay the price. My wife works in the fruit and veggie industry and she said that when we see a special in the supermarkets let’s say on something like tomatoes it’s not the supermarkets that lower the price and lose money it’s the farmer that is paid less for his product so the supermarkets don’t lose money it’s the poor old farmer - I don’t know where we’re headed John but it’s not good and we’ve got a government that’s twiddling its thumbs while all this is happening - cheers from Tassy mate Mark
I am a retired farmer , we have to get rid of the ALP in Australia it's the high wages that don't help in farming , lot of farms in QLD are down to solar panels thousands of acres should be food , farmers sold out to Bowen
its both Lib and Lab Peter, they are both involved, both party's have WEF members within their party that's why we need the smaller freedom party's like Pauline Hanson or independents who will block the pathways to bring in the new legislation ect.. her party is one of the only ones who are alerting the public to what is happening about the WEF, Klaus Schwab, eating bugs ect... and by the way all this information is not hidden and can be found on the WEF website their slogan is "you will own nothing but you will be happy"
If you think the LNP are on your side, you're mistaken. They care less about you than pretty much any other party, but they sure do know how to make people emotive, and rile them up. You might not like paying higher wages - no boss ever does - but too many farmers have been caught basically treating workers like slaves (charging them for food and accom in a way that basically takes back their entire wage, while having them work 14-18hr days) that I've lost a lot of sympathy. Bad apples really do rotten the bunch. And the wages issue was already there under the LNP, it's not just an ALP issue. To think so is oversimplifying it. On your other point, I saw when I visited california a few years ago, a lot of farms that have gone down the solar route, but they have found ways to make it work in with having sheep etc running underneath them, which is good because the panels catch the moisture overnight, and it drips down to make the grass grow well near their bases, and then the sheep take care of keeping the grass under control. The panels have to be put on the right angle to make it work, but it doubles the productivity of the space. I believe there are other farmers doing smaller scale vegetables that have figured out how to space them right to work for that also. That's the kind of thinkin that needs to happen - it doesn't just have to be one thing or the other 100%. They have a fairly similar climate to us, so no reason why our farmers can't try something similar.
I plan to, selling most of the cattle this year. Just keep a few at home for the grass. I don't want to live in town. Luckily our home place is only 80 acres. We will stay there and sell the rest. John
Well basically for economic reasons due to climate targets set down by the EU, farmers are finding it difficult to make a living in Europe. In Australia the difference between the price charged in the shops and what the farmer gets is starving the farmers and the public is having a cost of living crisis. I wonder what happens when farmers have had enough and just stop growing food to sell. John
@@farminglifeaustralia6716 Yeah, sounds 'Hinky' to me, and I know that's not a real word. I'm not DFL here in Minnesota in the States, but even if I'm not, they should get a good, fair, decent price, not the 'contracts' you mentioned where their stuck with it! They are smarter than that! I learned Farmers are the best economists there are! And furthermore, with out them growing/working, there is jack diddle. So there's that very important point. Good luck!
its an eye opener John but some cannot see the forest for the trees and need a push to open their eyes most farmers l know cannot see a future if things keep going as is here in Victoria the Dandemic government has land owners by the short and curleys because of legislation made in the name of bio security, that was something that started out as voluntary but is compulsory now, its going to shut down the little guy so their will only be big farms with genetically modified veges and bugs thankyou for the video
Hi good video. Look at the macadamia growers $1.65 kg farm gate price when production cost are $2.80kg. You have to add Labor cost on top of that. Was getting $6kg 3years ago. Prices in the big shops are still selling for up to $50kg. Farm living go's down retail go's up with no cost to consumers.
@@theadventuresofzoomandbettie Unfortunately there are some people in this world who only care about the dollar. They don't care about people or who they crush. Maybe it's the catastrophe that needs to happen to kill off the major supermarkets, and go back to being a local thing - people buying from their local butcher, and baker, and fruiterer - and growing their own. People would no longer be able to get the exotic things easily that can't grow in their areas, and they'd need to get more seasonal with their dishes, but it could be better for everyone.
