New 3DS Ambassador Edition & Playstation 4 20th Anniversary Edition.

Welcome to 2015 everyone.
In this video I ask the collectors eternal question by showing the boxed versions of the recently released Nintendo 'New' 3DS Ambassador Edition & Sony Playstation 4 20th Anniversary Edition consoles and whether I should open them or keep them safe for a later date.

Have you ever heard of this story? One time a kid asked for new Ice skates for Christmas, and these were special ice skates to them, they got the skates and they put them underneath their bed in the box because they were afraid they would ruin them, and by the time they wanted to use them, they no longer fit their feet. I know you may want to sell them for money, but... Maybe just indulge a little... Even if you have the system later on, I can gaurentee it will be worth more either way.

Enjoy the hardware you've purchased and obviously have a passion for as a collector. Ten or twenty years from now they might have been worth a little more unopened, but let's be honest, you're probably never going to sell them anyway! Imagine years from now that you've still got them, and still have no intention of selling them, wouldn't you kick yourself more for not opening the boxes and playing with them after all that time?

I ended up getting the PS4 from eBay. Paid over the odds but luckily not the crazy crazy stupid prices I've seen them go for. Particularly when they first appeared.

ah thats good to know. I really want one, but I might wait a while, maybe even a year or two, the prices hopefully should come down once it's out of the news. Same thing is happening with the Amiibos.

Keep them sealed. Transferring data into the 3DS is a pain, the experience won't be very different. You've already got a PS4 so hero it boxed. Far more collectable as new, in ten years on the 30th anniversary it'll be rare as anything

Play the hell out of that PS4, if not for yourself, then for all the true PlayStation gamers who where screwed out of getting one for retail by people cheating the system.
