  • Here's our first look at the Cammus C5. This direct drive wheelbase is in a category of it's own and could just be the future of direct drive steering wheel technology. This was originally meant to be an unboxing but when I finished I realized I had muted my mic for most of the video... so I redid it as a first look. If you have any specific things you're curios about let me know in the comments and I'll address it in the review. Don't forget to like and subscribe! Thank you!

    Love mine. Not planning on buying/upgrading wheel since VR racing. Bottom line, sim racing is expensive and this is the best budget friendly DD drive. The cons so far has not affected me. I’m glad I did not listen to Reddit posts and pulled the trigger. Super happy with it.

      I'm genuinely surprised and impressed with the build quality for the price. So far it looks to be on par with the Moza equipment I have. Can't wait to get it on a rig and really put it through it's paces.

    Hi Dan ! I didn't try the c5 but I did try the Cammus 15nm for a couple weeks and I absolutely loved it especially coming from my fana Cswv2.5. I ended up getting a VRS dfp but dang that Cammus 15 NM was affordable and felt great. Their software has improved and offering more sliders they also have fixed some of the earlier hardware issues. Great to see affordable options. Edit- Geez, I hope you get a chance to try their 15 nm!?

      Hell yeah man! Im super excited to get it on the rig! I watched your vid and quite a few others and its so strange they all have different colored stripes on them 😂. I know for sure I've seen green, yellow, orange and Im pretty sure red too.

      @@DanDiMaggiofirstable hey Bagz 😁 so about the stripes the first models and the testing ones had a green stripe then i think the first release was yellow and i think now there orange, that's based on what i noticed i could be wrong, oh and also am pretty sure i saw ones with white i have no clue on those lol

    cool concept, but it would need to have options for people who like different type of wheels

      @@DanDiMaggioi can assure you they have and they did 😌 with its big brother the C12, its still like in a testing process i only saw 3 pics of it because its was showcased in an event and i was blown away, same concept bigger wheel and... interchangeable thank goood 🙏🏻 the steering wheel is on top of the motor and the button box so it can easily be changed to an F1 style or whatever 🤷🏻‍♂️ not quick release but hey as long as there is an option even if it takes unscrewing and screwing back ill take it 😌 bigger paddle shifter 😅 more regular buttons more rotary ones and new ones like a joystick and ones like a volume knob, moza/pxn style led indicator (like the one line thing instead of 10 different ones) its called the C12 so its 12nm and as we know with the C5 its 5nm but it peaks around 6/7 i wonder if its the same with this C12, am very excited to see what Cammus has for us in 2k24 ❤️‍🔥

      well... to add up to this because I've just got some information a new video on X they where using the same wheel i saw on the C12 but on there DDWB 15nm base sooo this is not confirmed information its just based on what i think but hear me out 😅
      if they used the same steering with with the button box on a DDWB they had to plug it with a quick release, how did they plug the same wheel on the C12 motor we thought it was all in one peace like a C5 now we know its not and they pluged in this new steering wheel (turned up to be there new GT2 wheel) to the C12 base and my only conclusion and its a crazy one if it turns up to be true... they have a quick release in the C12 base and you can plug in whatever steering wheel you want OMG 😯

    Love mine! Noticeable upgrade from the T300 I had before. I don’t care much that I can’t change the rim. Maybe I will still end up at Simucube one day but after a few weeks with the C5, I can’t find a reason to upgrade, time will tell…

    Since your talking about bases I have a r12 I want to gift it to my son so I can have a team mate to race with lol and upgrade what would you suggest the r21 or the simi cube I really like my r12 haven’t had no issues with it at all have warranty frommmicro center just in case it just sucks we only have one in so cal

    • @DanDiMaggio
      @DanDiMaggio  Před 4 měsíci

      I would probably say since you're already familiar with the software and haven't had any issues with your R12, stick with Moza. But on the other side of the fence, Simucube really does have the high end direct drive market locked down when it comes to the best of the best. I haven't personally used a Simucube but they have overwhelmingly positive reviews based on what I've seen from other users. Honestly you can't go wrong with either but if it was me I'd stick with what I already am familiar with.

    Has it cons and pros!
    Benefits kids more than adults. Unless you travel a lot then as an adult it makes sense.
    No upgrades though for wheel wise and the wheel itself is small
