- I was sent this wheel to review by the team at Cammus.
A relative newcomer to the sim equipment industry, this wheel was met with raised eyebrows by the sim racing community, due to the fact the direct drive motor is INSIDE the steering wheel itself.
Plus, at just 5Nm of peak torque, surely it couldn't work?

Nice review! A follow up in a month or so would be nice, specially since many ppl say them tiny paddles break quite often. Also thank you for your "learn the nordschleife under an hour" series, it's helped me a lot!

Its a banger piece of kit for the price, especially now with the various warehouses. The pedals are horrific, ended up binning them and going back to the old G920 pedals with a bodnar cable. But the wheel is superb.
I didn't order the pedals as they looked just awful. I have kept my T3PA Pro pedals with a bodnar adapter until I finally decide what load cells to go for. I love my C5 wheel, but I fear it is eventually going to destroy the desk its clamped to. It might be time to invest in a rig, or at least a decent wheel stand
What cammis settings do you recommend for closest to real life?
Can i use my shifter and pedals (im on pc)
I'm pretty sure that the 5nm is the constant torque, not the peak. I believe the peak nm is between 7 and 8nm. The c5 is a cracking wheel for the price, but the paddle shifters are a weak point and will need upgrading

Since you're more used to a more powerful motor, was the feeling or fidelity within the 5nM range similar to if you toned down the simucube?
Yes - that’s how it felt. I didn’t feel like I was missing any detail. It was just the same kind of detail but at a lower absolute level of torque.
BUT - Adriano’s frame was the limiting factor. It flexed too much for this wheel. Even at just 5Nm, this wheel was too powerful for the old playseat rig he was using. So I’d want something more solid to mount the C5 on.
It’s caused him to upgrade the frame. He’s getting one at the moment.
can we use different pedals for this
Make no sense the C5 boundle cost 330 euros and cammus charge 85 euros for shiping from spain to portugal that is insane its not so diferent from fanatec so its like the price its low in base but the rest is just insane if i order from china is 184 euros almost the price of the wheel i was hyped to buy this bundle but with all this bad shipment organization i really dont think it worth the money, because its simply not cheap as they say and in the end of the day you will be stuck with the same wheel better to pay bit more and have the chance to upgrade, i think if they organize the wherehouses and charge the fair ammount of money to ship i was def buying. conclusion they are making money with shiping coasts and in the end you get scamed...
I just bought one. The FFB is not good in Assetto Corsa. It may have 5nm but it's a DOG ASS SLOW 5nm. It's too slow for sliding around and catching oversteer. If you're a tidy driver who doesn't experience oversteer, maybe this would be okay, but if you drive on the ragged edge, this is as bad as the Logitech gear drives. I've owned 9 racing wheels and this is one of the worst. Everything about the wheel is great except the FFB, which is the only thing that really matters.
Ian - I can help - that’s entirely settings dependent. Message me or email me and I’ll help you fix it. It’s a 20 second job.
The software as a default setting has various filters applied. Once we remove the filters and allow the wheel to work as it should, it is SUPER fast.

This is not true, watch boosted media reviewing this, he shows how good it is at rallying, drifting etc...its better than more expensive wheels for catching oversteer, you must have poor settings.
