COME SEE ME ON TOUR:
Troom Troom is one of the cringiest CZcams channels I’ve ever seen, and their medical advice/first aid hacks are wildly inaccurate. Today we talk about sneezing, headaches, bruises, snake bites, cauterizing wounds, motion sickness, tampons, pads, hiccups, choking, smelly feet, water in your ears, heartburn, and a ton of other stuff. I never thought I’d see a channel with more weird claims than Five Minute Crafts or Bright Side, but here we are. Which hacks should I react to next?
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

The pad one is on discharge paperwork for vaginal deliveries at some hospitals, but the swollen area it’s to treat is substantial lower than the forehead 😅
even if they're parodies they still spread misinformation
If they are a collection of parodies, there'd be a disclaimer given the serious nature of medical stuff. If there isn't, then you should probably assume by default that these crazies really believe these are "life hacks".
As far as I know, they never stated that it was parody or satire and instead label it as "life hacks". The worst thing is, their target demography is children aged 5 to 13.
These type of videos are dangerous and should be removed outright from CZcams, especially the ones presented as legitimate medical advice.

I was so confused reading "vagina birth" until I remembered that C-sections exist
@@a-bombmori7393 sameeeee, but even so was there a need to specify if it is what's the norm?
I can see how that would be a good idea. Ice packs and bags of water/ice don't "breathe" well and the last thing you want is to trade one kind of pain for a rash in an unfortunate place... Or at the very least, it sounds much more comfortable.
And, whaddya know, the pad actually makes sense in that context lololol good to know, thanks!
Huh, that makes a lot of sense actually, cool!
I have motion sickness and I either take pills beforehand or I open my windows for fresh air and that helps a lot. And taking deep breaths can also work sometimes. Personally eating food, mainly things with a large amount of sugar can help but that probably isn’t really medical and just a general distraction from the nausea.
I would have motion sickness problems but only while reading in the car and eating a banana once helped a lot
7:51 not only do I often get shower water in my ear (far more than pool water?), I cnanot perform the valsalva maneuver (pinching the nose and blowing) because my ear canals are scarred badly from chronis ear infections as a child, so the air just escapes through the sinus ducts in the corners of my eyes. The scarring also causes the stuck water (and the ear wax in there as well) to be stuck in there quite badly, ruining my hearing in that ear for like a week.

But the other thing I noticed is
"If you are hungry, just use glue on your toe, since this will get rid of the headache, like cold water allwas dose."
As someone who is CPR and First-Aid certified, I know that holding and shaking a choking child will not help unblock his or her airways. It just might cause the object to become more lodged in the throat instead. Plus, it might actually cause brain trauma from the brain being forced to rattle in the child's skull. This is why you don't shake or bounce young infants, and why you shouldn't really try this with anyone. Great job, Troom Troom.
Edit: To everyone in the comments below who are saying that not shaking children is common sense, I know. Unfortunately, common sense isn't really common anymore and I've seen caretakers unintentionally be very rough with their small infants and children, like throwing them up in the air, etc. when I babysit. And most of them aren't even a year old OR if they are older, their children are pretty small-framed for their ages.
So before becoming a parent, PLEASE do your research on basic knowledge like this so you know how to assist your children if they need any urgent medical aid in a life-threatening situation. I beg you. It's heartbreaking to see (as a teenager), loving parents who don't know how to take care of their little ones in a proper manner.

@@animeloveer97 only if you use an inappropriately thin one, or don't change them frequently enough, or in this case add too much liquid into them, or I guess maybe you could be using really poor quality ones? Dunno, I've never had that problem.
In the ice pad setting, it's being filled with liquid water, then frozen, so presumably they're only going to fill it with the amount of water that it can hold without leaking, especially if using a syringe to fill it, since syringes over 5mls in size tend to be super expensive & a maxipad will easily hold 5mls of liquid. 5mls is not much of an ice pack, pretty useless really, but they'd have to do really weird stuff to end up with it leaking all over their face!

When I lived in Asia, there was an old Chinese superstition going around was that when you got shingles/chickenpox, you are supposed to 'burn the snake's head' with hot coins, in order to stop its progression! Literally put burning hot coins on your (already sore) skin to 'burn and chase out the snake' that is supposedly causing this malady and 'stop it advancing.' Many educated medical practitioners had large signs in their clinics warning patients to never do this, esp parents of sick children, because they would actually see burnt children coming into their clinics with children with burn marks. In any other part of the world, this would be seen as child abuse.

Dr Mike: "Stand up to get the lemon. No need for lemon now."
Or get your friend to do it
or you could just out the lemon in a jug of water. tadaaa 🤪
The actual science behind stopping hiccups: when people say “hold your breath” they’re not necessarily wrong, just being too vague. Take in the deepest possible breath, and then tense your core. Since hiccups are the involuntary contractions of your diaphragm, and breathing in contracts it, you will briefly make it physically impossible for it to compress further. Then, after a bit, slowly let your breath out.
Edit: drinking water also helps because it also helps you regulate your breathing. The same tactic is good for someone who’s crying to calm them down
As someone who doesn't really have sugar on hand, that's the trick I always use and I always assumed it worked exactly for the reason you explained. I push my filled lungs down on the abdomen and that seems to compress the diaphragm completely, which in turns help it to relax.
I actually use exactly the opposite approach; exhale as much as possible (far more than in normal breathing) and hold... It usually works for me first time, if not simply repeat. As above, I guess it is about conscious diaphragm control.
I just hold my breath for 3 hiccups and they're usually gone. works every time
Yup. This is the only hack that has ever worked for me. I hold it until I feel a cold feeling wash over me--that's how I know it's worked and I can take a breath again.
Yep, I hold my breath. But I have to sit still for it to work, if I walk around at the same time it’s no good

As a healthcare worker, I felt your pain about how people should stop judging people for normal bodily functions that literally every other human being on this planet has. There is literally nothing to be embarrassed about it either.
It was adorable!🥹😂
so your saying in the middle of a family reunion, i should rip out the loudest fart i can... in the middle of a very quiet moment... right???
@@t0tallysetj1 I mean...if they are unbothered by it or laugh, sure? XD One shouldn't feel embarrassed by normal bodily functions, doesn't mean you can't be polite about it. Example: Move to other room to unleash the fart xD
@@Mandy-ve7ok the one where you try to breathe out your nose whilst holding it does actually work though, idk why for me it does. I get blocked ears and then do it and it pops and I can hear again lol
What about itchy balls
with the "Cold soda" segment, I actually got a realization
car sickness and motion sickness are polar opposites
while car sickness is usually caused by feeling motion in your semicircular ear canals or whatever they're called, but your eyes not receiving motion,
motion sickness is usually caused by NOT feeling motion in your ear while your eyes do pick up on motion
also hiccups can be cured by pickle juice
and yes i tried it and it worked
It's almost as if bases neutralise acids LOL.
6:54 lil thingy, when someone chokes, THEY DONT COUGH. THEY DINT MAKE ANY NOISE BECAUSE THERE IS NO AIR FLOW OMGGG
9:50 Comeon Dr.Mike! Soap does remove makeup! Oops... I meant bruises...😵
9:39 actually, using soap and then wipe it out can really remove a painted "bruise"!
This is both infuriateing and hilarious at the same time
"You'll need a cabbage!" just lol
"do you have friends that want to lick your eyeball?"
yes. she has four legs and a tail.
Haha fr
My cats: your estimate is true
Ruined the 69 likes
just splash purified water on your face!
My old cat used to try this when I was sleeping. She was a strange kitty, but very much loved.
7:40 was bloody hilarious - only pool water 💧
4:20 this is where the soda hack would come in handy.
2 things
1: I have really bad motion sickness and have been diagnosed with vertigo. Pop a Dramamine every so often on long trips, or on a boat. Helps me
2: hiccups-literally has worked for me every time. Put a utensil in your mouth sideways, usually a spoon just so no sharp bits. While holding it in your mouth, sip water. It'll work.
6:55 I’m not an expert by any means unless you count having family members who are medical professionals, but this method is actually very dangerous. If you dangle someone (especially a small child) upside down and shake them when they’re choking, they’ll start panicking which will make their windpipe contract, making the object stuck in their throat get more lodged or even go further down their windpipe, as well as the fact that the violent movements are simply not doing anything to remove it. You also can’t breathe properly if you’re swaying around or being jerked around while hanging upside down. So you would actually be killing the victim faster that way.
Yes, please sue them & get them taken off youtube. My daughter tries watching this ridiculous stuff & I have to correct her & tell her how dangerous those things would really be. Cauterize a snakebite with a match *shakes head*
Oh boy... my sister used to spend her whole days watching Troom Troom and 5 Minute Hacks ır whatever it was called. This phase lasted for TWO YEARS. And trust me, those channels sound even more irritating in Turkish than English. And she NEVER wore headphones. I'm pretty sure she lost braincells watching those stuff. I wish you good luck and patience.
The one where the child was choking got me way more than it should have😂😂😂😂
Same here! I was laughing so hard and rewound that part probably 30-40 times from laughing so much!
No one.
Doctor Mike. BEEYOOP
and it’s so wholesome
8:12 ✨blink✨
"Do you have friends that want to lick your eyeballs" me: no I don't have friends 🌝
