KG had a strange game. He made a lot of difficult fadeaway shots because of his style of play with so many fakes in the post. He also guarded anyone, 1-5 so that made his defensive play very versatile. He did shoot a lot of midrange shots and shot it well.

To me, Michael Jordan is no doubt the greatest mid-range shooter of all time. His percentage increases in the playoffs and increases more in the dying seconds of the game, when the game is on the line. @@JawstR None of the numbers support your argument. Kobe is top 5ish for me, he isn't top 3. MJ, Bird, KD, and Dirk were all more proficient and smarter with their mid range selection. Kobe was a great mid range shooter, but he literally copied every signature MJ move and shot the same type of shots, but at a lower efficiency. We also have to factor in that Kobe's mid-range jumper was not great in his first seven years. It was not in it's complete form until the 2005-06 season. Kobe was a very average shooter his first 4 seasons, then became good the next 3 seasons. Bird and Dirk were complete shooters from the beginning, and MJ's jumper was much better than Kobe's in their first 7 years. Kobe's poor shot selection is why he drops down on this list. Do I think he could shoot middy shot for middy shot with MJ? Sure, like in practice, but MJ created better shots for himself when it was game time with better physical abilities than Kobe did. 2nd in 98 with 12.3 attempts (45%)
    3rd in 99 with 9.6 attempts (44%)
    3rd in 00 with 10.3 attempts (48%)
    7th in 01 with 9.9 attempts (45%)
then he fell out of top 10 in mid range attempts as the league became more of a volume scoring swingmen league, but he would still average around 10 attempts and with a solid 45 to 50 fg% for another couple of years.
houston was never amongst the leaders in attempts, but he had a 4/5 year run in late 90s/early 00s where he would take around 9 mid range shots per game and shoot close to 50%. if he played today he would easily be the best mid range shooter.

A mid-range shot in the NBA is a jumper outside of the key, but inside the three-point line. It's subjective though. So not all mid range shots are necessarily equal. A player who mainly shoots close range jumpers can not be compared with a player who takes shots just inside the 3 point arc.

Well I think that’s obvious he would be on a list like this💀

    1. MJ (kd has a case)
    2. KD
    3. Kobe (best difficult shot maker here shot league average or above in his prime in the most difficult era to score on the highest volume)
    4. Dirk 5. Kawhi 6. Cp3 (you can put them on any order but dirk had better volume and longevity, cp3 inst higher cause it didnt lead to a chip which he had chances to win).
    7. Kg (wanted him to be higher but the drop which was his mid range after his prime doesnt sit right, he wasnt dominant as scorer as the guys ahead).
    8. Bird. 9. Melo (one is more efficient but less difficult shots, the other made more on harder difficultly, you can decide on either one but birds did led to winning cant say that for melo.
    10. Hakkem (the goat mid ranger shooter by a center and greatest post player very underrated)

Dumbest comment in the section. Wtf does championships have to do with being a great midrange shooter 😂😂. Has ring culture really fried brains this hard

Kawhi ahead of Kobe, bird, or the midrange god DeRozan is an absolute atrocity.....🤦🤬

When I think of great mid range players rip Hamilton is first name that comes to mind. He should be in top 5
