My Lakers
Ok
Crazy how everything is happening the same😂. Nowadays oldheads say that NBA is soft now and here we can clearly see that Wilt is calling out the softened competition for Jabbar lmao. Some things never change.
reason i said a few years ago that when WE grow old, we'll do the same thing those old heads ex-players and fans are doing.
And it is ALREADY starting. Look at how we trashed ASG now, same with the SOFTER & more SENSITIVE officiating.
I was thinking the exact same thing
Right. I saw wilt say the 90s was soft and he’d average 70 and this is the first thing I thought. People can’t appreciate nothing just criticize the “new era” or the past
Would've ❤️ for Kareem Abdul jabber to played against David Robinson one year apart saying about Shaq O'Neal it wouldn't be fair to Kareem Abdul jabber too old
@@august6281 spot on. I’m gonna go berserk when someone says curry played in a weak era
So basically this whole beef started cause Wilt's ego was struck due to Kareem breaking his record & Wilt wanted the recognition of being better than Kareem
maybe more that wilt had plenty of records but wasnt praised once the way Kareem was when he broke the point-record.
Wilt still got 100 points game record, 50 points average, 55 rebounds wilt still in his nba record book casket
Wilt had Willis reed& ny Knicks as a rival too, wilt wasn't early 1960s wilt, early 1960s wilt would've score 50s points playing against Willis reed , early 1960s wilt would've ateup Willis reed & ny Knicks, oldie& knee surgery kneewilt lost to Willis reed & ny Knicks in 1970& 1973 nba final

Kareem’s storyline reads like a sports video game plot !!😂
Dude you're spot on with that
Did not expect Pat Riley to pop up in this 😂yoooo he’s got like the best life . Played with Wilt & Jerry West vs Kareem , Coached Magic Johnson & Kareem ( if I’m not mistaken ) , Coached Shaq & Dwade , formed The Lebron Big 4 , Unleased Playoff Jimmy & Drafted Bam . Like he don’t miss
Don't forget his college career. He played for Adolf Rupp at Kentucky who lost one of the biggest upset in NCAA tournament history. The mighty Kentucky lost to the University of Texas-El Paso who was the first college team to have five black starters. They made a movie about it.
Well, the lebron one is a debatable miss..
Wilt holding is own at the end of his career says a lot to how great he was.
One of the few athletes to ball out till the end 💪🏾💪🏾
I dont think Wilt ever hated Kareem. Kareem had his issues with Wilt and given the cirumstance of the time, probably justifiably so, but I don't think it rose to level of hate. They didnt like each other, but hate is a strong word that I dont believe applies.
Politics of the times mandated beef. I agree.
As Kareem quoted, "I never hated Wilt, just his politics."
Wilt hated Kareem because he just wanted to be the best after being overshadowed by Bill Russell's success.
Secret Base made a Beef History video about the two.
Kareems political views aren't exactly the best

Kareem has also said the exact same thing wilt said but in a different way. He said something along the lines of "well that's one record I'll never have to worry about".

That Wilt spit-rain joke was crazy 💀
Yeah, that's a lame fan thing to say, but Wilt should have had something bettet than that...maybe the other guy was an asshole, maybe Wilt had a bad day
Wilt loved the bunnies
Pretty 👩 woman
Who doesn't? lol
Can you blame him?
So, do I.
Wilt had more scoring moves to use of woman than his fancy low 📫 post scoring points moves to his on legendary great big men in the nba, history wilt wrote the 📚 book how to score with woman
13:54 It's funny how most of Kareem's criticisms of Wilt flow naturally even if you replace 'Wilt' with 'LeBron'.
Kareem is a worthy legend. I feel honored that i grew up and could see his games live on tv. Bummed that i never got a chance to see him playing in person 😔
That fucking advertisement segment was gold buddy. I hope your proud of yourself
I love your videos Nonstop. Please never stop posting!
I didn’t know myself that I was a big fan already. I been watching your videos for 2 years already I just enjoying your Trivia & Story about NBA and here I am watching your new upload today, Thank you!
It's news to me that Kareem had so much good things to say about Wilt (for one, I didn't know that most of the women Wilt was with that Kareem met weren't after the money and were genuinely charmed by his rizz) before their relationship got sour. Wilt is gone years ago but I do hope despite his grievances, Kareem has already forgiven him deep down.
Kareem also had a lot of bad stuff to say about Wilt
Kareem probably felt hurt that someone who he had that rapport with would be so petty with his ego. Harder for a shy person to connect with someone like that, and like finding out your role model is an asshole (confirmed by Nixon shit)
The content is always top notch, love this channel getting sponsorships and growing

15 mins! thank you for providing these videos!
This is the GOAT voice of Nonstop
These guys had a SERIOUS beef that lasted for a couple of decades. I'm glad that they could bury the hatchet before Wilt's untimely death.
I think part of it was generational difference. Chamberlain came of age during a more conservative era; Kareem came of age during the Sixties in a time of national turmoil. When Wilt backed Nixon in 1968 and again in 1972, that was the last straw for Kareem, who was borderline Socialist at that time. And this isn't to even touch on their on-court rivalry. Wilt might have enjoyed a few years on top after Bill Russell retired- but here came Kareem.
Damm these are soo good and so different from other yourubers❤❤
Really interesting. Nonstop makes me more knowledgeable about basketball...
I love the topics this channel does!
I ABSOLUTELY love listening to videos like this i never knew that had such good and bad history
The Kareem vs Wilt rivalry was just 2 champion gladiators competiting at the highest level of their sport. Not much different than the Magic vs Bird rivalry....or the Ali vs Frazier...etc.

11:38 it's interesting that Kareem drew the line early on politics. You have to remember that Richard Nixon was one of the most popular presidents up until Watergate happened.
If you look at his popularity and approval polls from 1969 - 73 you'll find out that Richard Nixon was one of the most popular presidents. He won his election and especially his re-election by Landslide margins both in the popular vote and electoral college.
But if you knew anything about politics, economics, and world history, Nixon was clearly a vile demon who worked for the rich
The most popular president of all time. Bar none. Until the deep state decided he had to go & they installed the only unelected POTUS in our history.

Wilt was apparently not as humble as Kareem but his abilities as an athlete and his legacy in general will always be fascinating to me
I believe Wilt would've destroyed Lebron. He was a great scorer. I am a Jordan and Kobe fan. But I have great respect for Wilt as a player. They are my favorite 3 players
Kobe himself said it was him, Mike & wilt
@@wendellfarao8094I’m not a Lebron fan but no way is Wilt destroying Lebron. It’s a different era. Wilt’s era had less skilled players. He was great for his era but in modern day ball……no.

Legendary beef
The two greatest big men in NBA history didn't hate each other. Kareem was hanging out with Wilt before he got into the NBA. He was like Wilt's little brother. When Kareem got into the league, the relationship changed because it became more competitive. They were going at each other, and the young Kareem was getting the better of him. They always had great respect for each other.
Thanks for this
4:10 "Oh my god" 🤣😂🤣
Kareem at 8:48, "This time, I turned around and faced the basket, and that made him play more honestly. I never did that before." . . . or since
4:05 LOL THAT IS SO FUNNY
Yeah😂
No. It's not.
Hate is not the right word, Wilt helped Kareem a lot when he was young, what there was was professional envy and that speaks to how competitive Wilt was. Wilt is perhaps the best in history but Kareem's work ethic is spectacular, They are both in my top 5 all time.
Man I had no idea about all this. Incredible research
Much of what wilt said was true. Kareem only led league in rebounding twice , he also played until he would barely get 10 points 4 rebounds. Wilt also acknowledged Kareem was being paid well to stay around…I totally understand Wilts frustration he was truly the greatest, taking two old Warriors teams to game 7 , one and two point losses against the loaded Celtics because of Sam Jones & Havlicek…Wilt the Greatest Rebounder ever set most wins per season records twice… The NBA didn’t start hype , recognition and marketing players till 1980.
49 year old SoCal native that loved B-Ball my whole life. I didn't know Pat Riley played basketball professionally. All this time I thought he was a slick Hollywood star that was a good coach for Lakers or something.
One of the greatest beefs. Kareem stood on bidness and principles. Peace to Wilt but he always lost me with the " White woman are better looking than black woman " BS 🤦🏾
Global surveys back up Wilt, buddy: Eastern-European women consistently rank highest for physical attractiveness.

Kareem ain’t been the same since he left Milwaukee
By the time the Lakers reassembled a good team Jabbar was getting over the hill. But he didn't suffer any rapid decline after Milwaukee. His team just suddenly got worse and missed the playoffs for a bit.
But something the same happened to Chamberlain when the Warriiors moved to San Francisco. Not immediately, but after they made the finals in.... '64?... they fell off a cliff. They were in the process of setting a league record for losses when Wilt was traded to the 76ers. Then the 76ers set a league record for wins a year and a half later.
Wilt - jealous, insecure and doesnt wanna be exceeded..he has selfish desire and egocentric..Jabbar - low key, humble..doesnt spill the rotten beans of others..i admire himas one of my greatest NBA players, i have a retro jersey of him, a yellow and violet Lakers no.33 jersey..i love to wear them
Wilt was a better center than Jabbar.
And they say "good old days" 😂😂😂
Kareem, Jordan - my top NBA idols
I can only imagine what the other 8 players were thinking when they saw 2 7'0 giants duking it out under the basket
It's the opposite facial hair for me lol
In most ways I would say that this was one-sided beef and back Kareem as the better and more humble person in this situation. Then I remember how he treated Pam Grier...
I've heard so many stories from trainers and oldheads of how awful Kareem was to work with, completely the opposite of how polite and easy to work with Wilt was
This is a another banger

Would love to have seen them both face each other in their primes.

180 degrees from Bird and Magic.
A man of principal
It's weird how Kareem said that quote about Wilt but thinks Lebron is the GOAT. Thats very confusing. Because everything he said about Wilt also applies to Lebron lol.
I've been saying it for a while now that LBJ will go the route of wilt not MJ in how they're rembered. Respected for their contributions but not totally revered
@@SayanOfRagnarok I think so too I’ve been saying the same thing as well. You can already see that it’s happened to Michael Jordan. People treat Michael Jordan like he didn’t accomplish anything. 6-0 in the finals. 2 3-peats. Never got to a game 7. 10 times scoring champ. He still has records that nobody’s ever going to touch. He’s done tons of things in the league that no one will ever probably do again. People act like he’s not even that good. so that makes me thinking another 10 to 20 years people will be saying worse things about LeBron. Because if you objectively look at what LeBron has done versus Jordan or even Kareem, it’s really not that impressive. I know LeBron fans are going to get salty, but if you objectively look at it, there’s still other players that have a better overall career than LeBron. They may not have the same stat line he does as far as what they accomplished in their career. But objectively in their era they accomplished more.
@@ikiwheese I think it'll be worse for lebron too he's not as respected by players and right now he brings in money for the league and keeps the media on his side but once he's no longer the cash cow I think more negative stories will come out like how they did with wilt. On MJs side they knew he was competitive liked to gamble and smoke he never really hid that side of him or the fact he was an ass because he could back it up on the court. In LBJs case he cares way more about his public image. And his squeaky clean persona doesn't match the tantrums or moves he makes as LeGM lol. I really want to know Dwades real thoughts on the 2011 finals run. There are clips of him staring daggers at lebron completely fed up and in one interview people took it as a compliment but he said "i thought lebron was even more impressive in practice then he was in the game" or what his teammates really think of him always throwing them under the bus or minimizing their contributions.
@@SayanOfRagnarok I agree it will be interesting to say the least. A lot of lebrons teammates still say Jordan is the best and the ones who don’t basically don’t want to upset him. I can’t wait honestly lol.
@ikiwheese found out today alot of his old teammates were paid by clutch sports to sign nda's and not talk about his bas performances
Pretty ironic that wilt said there were no centers when Kareem played. Since they played the same years and in the 60s wilt played vs no good centers at all. Just a 6'9 Bill Russell

I mean, the recognition part from Wilt was partially true, not that it justifies his lack of will to congratulate Kareem, when he announced his retirement there wasn't even as near as a reception that Kareem got when he decided to retire.
Outside of Shaq , the most physical center ever Wilt that is.
In basketball the center is the tallest player on the team
No offense to Shaq but Wilt would eat him alive. There has never been a stronger Basketball Player than Wilt
watch their tapes again, they dont even box out like they do today smh. Physical against their time yes, but I'm pretty sure you mean all time, so no Wilt isnt close to Shaq in physical domination, the rules of Wilt's time just didnt allow much physical play. This is exemplified by the fact that fade away made up almost 50% of Wilt's fg.
