    Sick video and I love the rider cam. The results were definitely interesting. Nice work

    Thank you. Interesting video.
    My CDI is DC but I have one on the way and I am curious to see if it makes any difference.
    What is strange is that your bike is 150cc and tops out around 48mph. I have a 100cc and it does 55mph stock?
    Do scooters in the USA market have restrictions?

      I was wrong mine is a 49cc and this dude put a high performance cdi on it and it made a huge difference

    Remove all stock air intake products install high performance cone air filter directly to carburetor 'install a 125 or 130 main jet remove all smog emissions from engine apply high performance coil with the high performance CDI they are not effective unless they are running tandem then apply a high-speed variator and you'll be good for around 65. Other good boltons at this point would be a a9 cam with performance muffler I put this formula on my 150 I'm getting 72.

      Thanks for responding to me and thank you for info. If you do have a 100cc old cdi box let me know

  • @DivergentDroid

    Did you check for restrictions/speed limiters in the 1) exhaust 2) variator 3) air intake (either at airbox or carb) and adjust to a larger jet checking for richness or leanness? Those 3 along with improper jet size can cause your slowdowns. No reason why a 150cc GY6 scooter cannot do 55 plus.

    Good procedural testing. Like the results. You subbed my channel back in may but YT didn't put it in my notification. I had to check my channel's gmail account to learn about it. I've subbed.

    My 150cc is heavy around 280>300#,
    Znen 150 20T 2008 Rebel/Rowdy It gps tests at 56>58 mph, all OEM stock except for new rear stock clutch and new led headlight lamp, factory worn rollers and factory drive belt , tach works, speedo does not, odometer around 9000 miles, still has factory tires, but should replace them, needs a paint job, oh i replaced the brake master cylinders 5 years ago, going to replace the variator and maybe the cdi,
    The best single mod that can be done for performance is to replace the carburetor, use a carb with direct cable operated throttle slide, big off the line power and acceleration improvement, motorcycles use this system even old honda 50cc two stroke Mopeds used the system,
    These Chinese scooter carbs use air pressure to open the the throttle gate for more air to go with more fuel, the throttle cable operates the main jet for more fuel, but not the gate for air flow,
    its smooth its efficient, its easy on fuel , great gas mileage, it sucks at performance take off acceleration, it Revs too Slow, the engine rev response is greatly slowed versus a direct throttle gate carb,
    a new air intake will help a new cable throttled varb, more than it helps the stock carb

    I changed my cdi to that one but my bike does not turn off, i can turn off the kill switch and key at the same time and the engine still be turned on . Any help?

    • @TyposGarage
      @TyposGarage  Před 2 lety

      You may have accidentally pulled out one of the wires on the CDI connectors. This is easy to do. I would check your wiring to the box and disassemble your kill switch to check the connections in there. Have you swapped the old CDI box back on to check if it was a faulty CDI box?

    • @TyposGarage

      I would say either the black or orange cdi would be the best. They are pretty cheap and easy to install, so you might want to buy a few and try them.

      As long as your scooter is AC powered, all of these will work. You'll have to check to see what connectors you have. My scoot uses a 6 pin connector. The amazon listings say that they work for 50cc, 125cc and 150cc engines.

    • @TyposGarage
      @TyposGarage  Před 3 lety

      When you order a new cdi, you will just have to be sure you are buying one that is made for DC current. Most of the descriptions on amazon have it in the title.

    This can't be a normal 49cc, must have a different carb and weights. Way to fast. Mine tops out at 28mph
