In Korea, we express the First Kiss as rising into the air, feeling sweet like fruits and swinging in a high swing. That's why this MV has kind of those scenes.
About the patches over thier eyes, when they take patches over the eyes, they don't know the feeling of First Kiss. And taking off patches means now they know sensation of First Kiss.

Its interesting to see the more 'outside' perspective of Decalcomanie. They say its one of their lesser liked out of Mamamoo's songs they've heard, but inner fandom (and even Hwasa herself) thought it was one of their better, if not best comeback titles. Perhaps its more of a grower song, or one thats best appreciated when viewing the performance? (They had so many variations of this song - eg. rock/orchestral versions)

Decalcomanie is one of my all time favourites xD It might not be as vocally-intense or as jazzy/cheery as their other songs, but Mamamoo slays it anyways~ and plus the ad libs always make my day

Mamamoo Trash If I remember correctly, Umu started to do that where she shows them all of Mamamoo's Immortal Songs 2 performances by chronological order but KBS kept blocking it due to copyright so I guess she decided to not continue it. I think the only one still available on this channel is the first 2 performances (Wait A Minute and Flying Into The Night Sky) but I remember when I was new to the channel that they did already react to it - just got blocked. 😔
Edit: oops, I was wrong. It was an Umu-only reaction but yeah, they still got blocked. She reacted to most of MMM's IS2 performances but only a few survived. I guess that's why she discontinued it from the CM react list bc there wouldn't be a point to react, edit and post if it was gonna be blocked anyway. 😢

I don't know but I'm always nervous while watching them react to mamamoo lol. Anyway thank you for your honest opinions, even though i'm a moonbyul bias i appreciate the constructive criticism to her rap in memory. I may disagree (cause I like it so much T-T but i might be very biased hehe) but I trust their words and getting feedbacks like these can help mamamoo's music grow better in the future. Thank you umu :) Hardworking as always! And thank you to the reactors for sparing their time, some of them look tired, hope they'll have a great rest and take care of yourselves 😊
Moonbyul...Gay: Keep in mind that the criticism of the rap in Memory is also shared by the arranger(s)/composer(s) of the song. I don't believe Moonbyul fulfilled all of the roles!
bob ansak yep i think the arranger should also take note on how to add raps in a jazzy song cause it felt like they just added byul's part randomly without thinking that much which is sad :( cause it made people feel like byul's rap is unnecessary to the song. Which is why i stated feedbacks like this can help mamamoo's music grow in the future (which includes their composers, producers, arrangers etc.) 😊

luxoriaa agree, knowing the meaning behind her lyrics makes it so much better that you can't help but appreciate her rap in every song. I really grew a soft spot for her raps especially after translating every single one of them lol. She don't just rap, she write and create poetries. It might not suit to others but they are treasures to me.
yep, there are soooo many girl group's rapper thats better than moonbyul but there's something special on moonbyul's rap.
When I first heard Decalcomanie, I thought I didn't like it as much as other Mamamoo songs.... until I found myself humming it without realizing it. And the imagery, I was suddenly reminded of Gain pole dancing while water spurts out around her...(that song is literally called Blooming, as well)
Yeah me too.. at first i didnt like decalcomanie. It was not a bop for me. But for whatever reasons, one morning i woke up humming the chorus and i really felt good 😂😂

Idk how Umu's gonna overcome the KBS copyright issue tho but if her other IS2 reactions survived, I'm sure there's a way. But it would probably be a while since she's not focusing too much on CVR as much as CMR

You need to make them listen to the live version of MMM decalcomanie bcuz it shows their vocals better especially the Harmonies of the high note at the end.
For 'Decalcomanie', you should have told them that it was two different songs for the M/V. For the actual song, it would have been best to show the dance version:)
Mamamoo are definitely pioneer and every time they stick perfectly to the concept. Hope you will react to few more immortal song performances like "Wonderful confession" "Backwoods" and "You in my fading memory". Can't wait for september reaction of "Yes I am"

Honestly 'Decalcomanie' would have been my favorite Mamamoo song but it feels like two songs happening at the same time. Although the music video is by far my favorite from them.
If you mean the break, listen to the audio, and if you are referring to the solo parts then the chorus, listen to the life performances, it only strange in the first few listens
BTW, I think showing the performances of MAMAMOO in year end stages such as MMA, KBS song festival, blue dragon awards....etc will also be another good choice~ By this video, I think the reactors may not be used to these different style of MAMAMOO, however, watching live stages may let them know that MAMAMOO is equal attractive in performing different songs~ Look forward to the reaction of YES I AM, they will like it more, I guess. Decalcomanie was the song that got me into MAMAMOO. I love it and certain sounds in it remind me a bit of Eurythmics, which I grew up with. But musically, I've never liked how the music video version of the song cuts it up with a chunk of Memory in the middle, even though it narratively makes sense for the video.

If you are really interested in knowing what's the meaning of this MV, you should search what those fruits, wine, flowers and blindfold mean. But briefly, it's a soften way to talk about sexual topics like growing up, losing innocence, falling in love and wanting to "cross the line" (as they say)... décalcomanie with another one (which basically is to press one thing to another). It's very elegant and aesthetic. Also, the slow song in the middle (if someone hasn't get it) it's Memory (the first song on this video).
I thought exactly the same first time I saw Decalcomanie's MV. But then, I always watch them live and Decalcomanie is an explosion of vocals between UOAY and YTB for example. It went fast one of my favorite. That's why the success of that song was slow and not immediate.

Décalcomanie is prononce Dé (like when you say Bae) -calcomane in english. It's a method by which colored images are transferred to a support; these images. So they wanna show like the emotion of the first kiss that you've wait for so long with these weird scene they show after the kissing.
