just to add, Baek Z Young (Ji Young) is not an actress but the well respected ballad singer and the talk segment (mv in general) has a lot of Korean nuances in it. All the highlighted 'staff' are good-great singers/rappers like K.Will. The translation might be closer to "paid to act" as an expression, not literally paid to act/an actress. It was a typical prank you do by pretending the 'victims' are doing worse than they are and suddenly go jkjk.

they were expecting her, and they'd been told she's so kind etc etc. and then she started nitpicking and criticizing. and then their director or someone goes "solar, isn't baek jiyong a good actress?"
and that's when they realize they've been pranked.
Actually alot of the "staff" in Mamamoo's Debut video are singers and producers (K.Will, Jung Joon Hyung, Wheesung etc.) that collaborated in the making of the music video. And the producer (Baek Ji Young) who pranked mamamoo when she was reviewing their live singing isn't a random actress, she's actually a really popular singer in Korea. You could say she's at the level of a Celine Dion of Korea in terms of how well known she is.

Beak Ji Young’s “Don’t Forget” is soooo good
Baek Zi Young is actually a really famous singer in Korea and a huge role model for all singers inclunding Mamamoo. That's why they look so nervous when she is doing the prank, not because she's the producer.
Yeeaaahhh tbh I was like "I don't remember her acting...?" but I do remember her famous Like Being Shot By A Bullet ballad song that everyone and their mother do a cover of. It's such a classic ballad, oh man.
According to what I read, one of the girls, I believe it was Solar, said that they had never met Baek Ji Young before that day. They were told she was invited to observe them and to offer advice. The scam was "on" from the beginning. When she arrived, they excitedly went to greet her, but she looked the other way and completely ignored them as she walked by.
I do not believe she was in any way, shape or form the producer. I don't know. They might have given her a credit as an assistant producer, but from what I read, this song was done and ready to go before the girls had even met her.
Actually, the "producer lady" was Baek Ji Young - a highly respected vocalist in the industry. She's famous for her drama OSTs among other beautiful ballads. Her song "My Ear's Candy" featuring 2PM's Taecyon is also an iconic hit. She's close with their CEO, Kim Do Hoon, so she came out to support them and Mamamoo was excited about it. She's not an actress who was paid to portray the role of a producer. But they decided to pull a prank and they were devastated when a senior they look up to ended up harshly criticizing them like that even saying things like "Oh…Do Hoon oppa said it was a group he raised, but I’m really disappointed.” So it was definitely a funny prank and this is seriously one of the best debut songs ever. :)

Mamamoo really is lucky. 1st time I saw their debut MV I was like woah, how the hell did rookies get industry heavyweights like Baek Jiyoung, K Will, Wheesung, JJY, Don Spike, Bumkey.. all in the same video?! Their company has thrown so much support behind them from the get go that they could not have flopped.
The "producer" is a well known singer Baek Ji Young. I believe that she went to the recording of the MV as a favor to the real producer to grade Mamamoo. Baek Ji Young is truly famous as a veteran singer so that's why they were really nervous.

Baek Ji Yeong (백지영) is one of the most famous singers in Korea.
And there's actually a longer version of "Don't be happy" 행복하지마 with a rap part and Bumkey's singing part, I think.

I think what's important to point out is that a lot of people who appeared on the MV of "Mr. Ambiguous" are famous singers in the Kpop industry. Jung Joonyoung who slays the rock scene with his band "Drug Restaurant", K. WIll, Wheesung and Baek Ji Young (Jonghyun sort of counts even though he doesn't sing a lot in CNBLUE's songs). Even at their debut a bunch of seniors in the industry participated in their music video and I think that's pretty awesome. It goes to show just how amazing Mamamoo is.

The entire "staff" are guests in the MV, who are famous in the music industry. You can tell how respected the guy behind Mamamoo is with all his connections as well as the strong support this group had before the debut. Ultimately, it's a reaction but sometimes some research needs to be done because now a lot of the viewers are feeling itchy that things were explained so inaccurately.

I love all your reaction hearing you talk about it in terms of the overall music really opened my eyes or ears I guess up to things I didn't notice or hear before like in a place I would normally focus on the vocals I heard a part in the background I hadn't notice or vice verse and now when I listen to something I'm like oh yeah that was a modulation lol thank you all it's helped me a lot in my playing too (I'm a Highschool Trumpet player) being able to hear different parts and balance across the band

It will be interesting to see if the CVR schedule has more posting when they are back in school. I really did love Mr. Ambiguous but I agree that they came out with Don't Be Happy and it was very unique and really good. I honestly wish they did more in that style but I do generally love everything they come out with ESPECIALLY the strange quirky fun stuff
