Palo Duro Canyon State Park 2023

Destination: Palo Duro Canyon State Park
Campsite: Hackberry #002, electricity and water
Campers: Lily, Bumblebee, Kristina, Papa, Nani and Sunshine
Hiked: Paseo Del Rio Trail (1 mile), Lighthouse Trail (5.6 miles), The Big Cave
Other: Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum
Lily had a 4 day weekend, so we packed up and took off - knowing that it would be below 20s at night, with our summer tent! The second night my mom (Nani) and grandma (Sunshine) joined us and we had a full tent!
Note: Facilities were nice (bathroom was up a steep incline), trails were well marked, visitor center has restaurant for snacks, food and souvenirs.
PS. Make sure to bring plenty of water, we ran out on trail and thought no biggie, I ended up with dehydration sickness that took awhile to come back from.
P.S.S. There is no sad monkeys at the Sad Monkey Mercentile (much to Lily's disappointment) but there is hot coffee, and hot chocolate (and expensive camping equipment).
