Love your content brother, you have taught me a lot. Salute
You're one of the OGs, brother. Thank you for the continued support.
First!!! That is very interesting information for sure. I like the slow motion and the lighthearted comedy you're including.
Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. Sometimes you need to add a little humor and make fun of yourself and the homies. 🤣
WELCOME
I’ve been trying to decide if I should try a threaded comp out for my 19X. But the chunk port style seems to be a great option too. After all Sig is using something similar with their Macro & others where the slide and barrel are actually the comp and it’s no longer an extra part fastened to the threads on a barrel. I like the idea of milling a slot in my slide and barrel & a side bonus is my holsters will still work. But then again I may have a nightmare trying to get it reliable with testing various springs across all different bullet weights and powder charges
All depends on how deep you want to get into tuning vs running with off-the-shelf stuff and what you're using the pistol for. Ported v. Comp is another category for comparisons. Sig's system isn't a true comp, and definitely seems to act more like porting but it does seem to do something as with the newer Radian system.
Nice video! I have been playing around with comps for a while. Some comps are more effective than others. The most effective for me are comps that are actually cut into the barrel and slide. The next most effective is the KKM integrated barrel and comp. A good comp will reduce muzzle flip but most importantly bring your sight picture back a lot faster than standard configuration. Adam Cowan of Sage Dynamics states that the benefits of a comp is best utilized and experienced with high pressure rounds like +P. I will say from experience that messing with spring rates only causes heartache. I like to use factory springs. Also I took a tactical pistol course where ammo was supplied. My compensated Glock had constant failure to feed issues. I found out that they supplied sub sonic ammo! The fix was using standard factory ammo. Comps are great as long as your aware of the capability of the firearm set up.
If I cared enough to tune then I'll use the data accordingly. Thanks, buddy. I'm sure it'll help those wanting to go down that road.
How did you put iron sight on that 417 compensator? Can you tell me what model you used? And how you did it?
There's a Glock front sight slot on it. You need the Glock based front sight tool.
OK I got the same compensator on my GEN five Glock 19 and I’m running the OEM springs because he said he will run it by Shop dirty rounds flawlessly and then she started to act up doing stove pipes and failure to eject morning then I switched it back to my DPM require management system spring it worked OK Derek once again act it up I mean it’s a pain in the ass to get the right tuning to run a compYeah I try to 13 pound man doesn’t work now am I Canik I have a double port I put a 14 pound spring in there and that thing is flawless
I want to try this comp with some 147gr now!
Give it a go and report back.
Gotta try the comp with major ammo. Chonky bois like the 147 at 1170+ will prob make the better use of that comp.
I'm ballin' on a budget, k? 🤣 That's definitely a whole different world I'm not willing to go down yet.
I love chunky boiz
What barrel are you using with the Agency comp? Agency apparently only works with certain barrels.
That has to do with the lack of standardization on thread length and shoulder. It's an Agency barrel.
I’ve been reluctant to try a comp as I tend to run pretty crappy range ammo. Not a problem w my Glocks, but some of my CZs etc don’t seem to like it. But I’m really looking at trying the radian comp.
I need to research more on their proprietary system.
@@bunnyoperator Right now I’m off loading a Shadow Systems DR920 and I’m looking at either just getting a G34 (which I’ve long wanted but never owned) or, alternatively, getting another 19X/45 and adding the radian comp so it’ll fit some of my G17 setups. Not quite sure which way to go. 34 is the safe route but I’m really considering that comp
@@seandurns110 I suppose it depends on intended use. I rather like the near G34 length of the setup in the video but I also understand the desire for the more balanced 17 overall length. IMO, it's the best balanced, so a G45 with comp to G17 length would be good. I've considered going a similar route for the G48 if I acquired a 43/43X slide and applied the PMM micro comp just to experiment. As usual, I'd test with OEM internals for baseline reliability.
@@bunnyoperator it’ll mostly just be a range gun. I like for most, if not all, of my range guns to potentially flex into carry or home defense if possible. But that’s not really what I’m aiming for here. I toyed w the PMM for my 48 setup, but even w my aftermarket trigger I really like the 48 a lot less than it’s double stack counterparts. And I have only bad things to say about the several Shield mags that I have for it. Honestly I’m thinking about offloading that too and maybe just get another 19 or even a 26.
@@seandurns110 That's unfortunate. Only 1 of 5 of my S15 mags had an issue. It was dropping on it's own and went back to SA. Apparently it was a little out of spec. They sent me a replacement and no issues since. Mine are Gen 2 if that matters but I did note in my initial S15 video that they are made by Check Mate, and that company is questionable from my experience with their Sig mags. I need more data and time behind before releasing a definitive video on them.
Nice video. Curious why the press check so often ? I’m assuming habit ? In my experience 124 grain and higher really activate that comp. Grip is also essential. It seems like your grip is looser than it should be. I’m not hating at all just a little constructive criticism. If the basic fundamentals are squared away, the comp is a nice accessory to getting back on target a lot quicker.
I have need to confirm condition post loading. It's a common practice. I do it for rifles too as sometimes mags aren't seated or something else is going on.
I think around this time was when my left wrist started developing pain and affected my grip strength. I have to back off on overly aggressive thumbs forward now i.e. basically learn how to grip again. Lucky it wasn't so bad that the pistol came out of my hands like a rookie. 😂
I gotcha ! That makes sense. I figured it was something of that nature. I appreciate the video man. Keep on keeping on !
Damn you hold onto that pistol when you shoot like if it’s a rifle lol
Sorry, I'll swap to teacup next time. 🤝
😂😂😂 the captions!
Just fo you. 😘
I know. Very precise!

I’ve been thinking of getting the radian comp barrel. Just nervous on its reliability. Only thing I don’t like about Glocks is the factory trigger shoe.
You have options for shoes luckily. Apparently the Radian system is quite reliable but I haven't personally confirmed or have looked into the design much. I'm sure I will later.
I've had the Radian combo for a few weeks, it's run reliably thus far. 600 rounds through it or so, mostly 115 gr.
@@RoofKoreanConcepts appreciate the input. I’ll put a pre order in for my gen 5.
@@carls2210 I had an offline convo with Roof Korean Concepts, and based on the images that Radian has put out their system appears to be a ported barrel with a "booster" attachment. Not really a true comp (no expansion chamber) but will mimic one, and is probably why it is reliable with 115gr consistently when I had 2 failures to feed with mine on the day of testing. I'll need to take a look at the Afterburner attachment to know directly but that is my current interpretation. IDK about their price tag though. Is it worth nearly the cost of your pistol? That's up to you.
@@bunnyoperator yea price was a little steep I thought. But I like making bad decisions with gun parts. Worth a shot. Appreciate the additional info. I’ll keep you posted whenever I get it in and get some rounds through it.
10:01 shrapnel flying by your friends arm lol
IMO, comps are cool but a pain in the ass. Also, invest the money you'd spend on a comp in ammo and just practice rapid cadence strings.
That's why we wear eyepro. 😂 Comps are a different world for sure, which is why I'm only experimenting with oem parts. It's definitely "flatter" but I don't think it matters too much the way I'm using it currently. It hasn't made me "need" it for everything. I need to do more research.
What's the name of the Glock slide brand?
Zev
Dude the press checks...
You don't confirm the condition of your firearm before firing? 🤷🏻
@@bunnyoperator Bruh...
@@muffemod forreals 🤷🏻
Holy shit its Bobby Lee!
🤣
That's a lot of press checks. I rather send it home and then go to shoot the first shot, if it didn't load I have a great opportunity to practice a tap and rack.
I can see how you'd feel that way. In a training environment that can be useful but in settings where you're on the clock, not so much. I suppose it depends on what we're doing that day.
It all looked the same.
Yup, they're relatively minor in differences based on using OEM internals and the factory ammo noted. You really gotta tune to get the most out of it but the comp does reduce muzzle rise a little. The way I have it currently configured it runs pretty flat.
