1 year late. To dudes on the smaller side, I'm about 5'6, 149-155lbs, 9" nip to nip, 11" or so from the clavicle -1" above the belly button. The dedicated small MEPC fits my small Highcom 4S17M (8.75x11.75) plates perfectly at 0.9" thickness. I made homemade backers out of 5mm dense foam that fit as well. It all fits great. No hindered movement or shouldering. Out of the box the small MEPC appears small as hell but once it's kitted out and on the body, it looks normal. I waited 26 days for an order that contained about 13 items from DM. It was worth the wait. Everything was in ranger green and everything mostly was in-stock besides the cummerbund and maybe one other item made to order.
You're referring to their Small SAPI cut MEPC, correct? It was available at the time I was looking and only the 8x10 variant was. Thanks for sharing your experience. I'm sure it'll help other fellow schmediums. 🤝

I have been considering picking up one of these but as an avid user of the scarab for years now, I just can’t find something that beats it. The articulating shoulder straps and the cut of the carrier is just perfection.
Scarab is still my favorite for sure. I have an older video covering the Scarab variation differences. We're talking cellphone held by hand days. 😂
Good shit. I run this carrier and have for the last year. I’ve changed a couple things along the way with more time spent on range. I just set up my Haley hitchhike and I’m pretty happy with it.
It's good to have gear that you can evolve as experience is gained.

Nice! I'm sure you'll like it. These things are super individual based that there really isn't a "wrong" answer but there are alternative options (sometimes better) for many things you want to do.
The pack is a Haley Strategic Flat Pack Plus. They have a smaller one designed for PC integration but I'd rather just run standalone and be able to don and doff.
I know I asked you about it a long time ago and I thought it was cool that you said you need more time before giving your opinion. I respected that. It showed that you weren't a shill like so many guntubers are. I like what you did with it and your explanation makes sense. I'll give them a look.
Also, what is the black rifle you were using? It doesn't look like an AR but looks like those were Lancer mags, so AR-like?
Yup, that's right. I wanted more time behind it before making a video to give ya'll better intel.
The rifle is a US spec Sig 556 Classic and it does that STANAG mags. There was a US version, 551-A1, that took Swiss rock & lock type mags but it was basically the same rifle. I have that lower but don't use it as often because the Swiss mags are expensive and hard to find when I have plenty of inexpensive AR mags to use.

Good stuff as always, Jesse! I'm looking hard at the MEPC for my first plate carrier. It has all of the features I want, at a really good price for the quality.
Also, you must've gotten your MEPC a while back. They've since discontinued the mesh cummerbund and they now use a skeletonized cummerbund like the one you got from A&A in the video.
That's correct, I've been running their systems for some time now, and didn't want to release a vid until I had more experience. I had to be objective against the preferred Scarab. My preferences are still evolving and is why I opted to talk about how I set it up vs a true review, as I don't really "review" gear.
Also, I think you'll be fine with the MEPC. Just plan out the features that you want and piece it all together. When you gain more experience then start seeking out features available with other systems. These are wear items, so you'll eventually have to start swapping stuff in the long run. Like for me, I prefer the articulating shoulder straps of the Scarab.
That being said, I know that A&A is also working on stuff but IDK when they'll release more info. Shaw Concepts is another really solid option if you need a feature packed carrier. Keep me posted on your adventures, Kyle.
How did the 8x10 L210's fit in the MEPC? I ordered an 8x10 MEPC.
Basically made for them. The 8x10 3810 was too thick to get the velcro flap to fully contact. L210 was perfect.
How are the shoulder straps as far as rubbing on your neck? I usually wear t shirts Vs combat shirts
Depends on your neck thicccness. 😂 There's enough space for me with the pads but I'm sure with enough sweat and movement chaffing is inevitable. I do prefer the articulating straps on the Velocity Systems Scarab for that reason. They seem to help a little better than fixed straps. I do not recommend running the MEPC without pads though.

My only gripe with Multicam Tropic is that it's only relevant during summer months where there is lush green everywhere. When the foliage dies off and the dominant colors become brown and tan, MC Tropic performs poorly.
I wish more companies made their gear in Pencott patterns. Something like Pencott Wildwood can stay relevant in both summer and fall, with its mix of lush green and browns. "Slocam" made by Scandinavian armed forces is also great.

What’s your height and weight?
I’m 145/150 lbs and 5’6” and I’m stuck between getting a medium or small I like how the plate carrier fits your body type but curious if your height and weight
5'7" 160ish. You're a schmedium and can get away with both but usually sizing up to 10x12 and Medium carriers would benefit you in the long run for plate options if you don't want to deal with the 9x11 or SAPI cuts.

The shop is no longer doing attire but the IG account is still active under @distastedefense and the CZcams is still active. They've moved on to do other things.
What is the weight without plates?
IDK. That's not something I measure or really care about. Check their site for the individual component weights. Mine isn't exactly in their OEM config, so probably not appropriate data for your needs.
What was wrong with the DM cummerbund?
Nothing. I prefer FS tubes over ROC buckles and wanted to support A&A Tactical.
EDIT: I believe that DM has an alternative buckle available now. My cummerbund was the early version with mesh, which they no longer do to my understanding.
