I don't think Helena taking the diadem would have taken away Rowena's capabilities entirely? I mean she was still a smart person. But maybe the loss of it combined with the betrayal of her family sent her over the edge

Luke Cutforth i do womder if she would have lost the ability to present the argument of inbreeding though because that's relatively basic biology- rowena ravenclaw deserves more credit dammit. But it doesn't really matter, the theory was fun and interesting, so well done!
Sydney Clogston I think it’s more so all three of the other founders had their traits enhanced beyond what they would normally be but she no longer had her diadem to enhance her power so she didn’t have her full power and she didn’t have enough wisdom to counteract Slytherin.

I meant a society run on Hufflepuff values. It’s not necessarily true that everyone IN it would be Hufflepuff.. just that the leaders of it enforce and structure their society around the values of Hufflepuffs. Ie: inclusivity, equality, etc

I like this - though i think Ravenclaw would have still been smart enough to full the void - but she fell sick soon after her daughter left - the Bloody Baron was sent to find her as it was her mothers last wish to see her daughter again. (Just thought i woulf mention this coz otherwise it could be a flaw in the idea)
That's very true! It's entirely possible that the loss of her daughter AND the diadem theft combined did it.

I really enjoyed this theory. People get so caught up in the nitty-gritty details that they are unable to enjoy theories, but I seriously loved this!! It makes a lot of logical sense too. Regardless of the amount of wizarding wars, etc, it's very possible that your theory is correct and that the lack of "wit" is the original cause. Would love to see more Potter-related vids in future!

quinnhasnolife especially since it wasn’t a Slytherin who resurrected Voldemort. It was a Gryffindor. Especially when people are really prejudice against Draco. If you actually look into his backstory he wasn’t a bad person. Sure he was a bully but look who he was brought up with. Do you really think his parents taught him anything besides pure bloods are superior? I think that if he hadn’t ended up in Slytherin he could’ve been a better person. All his friends were pure bloods. They just reinforced everything his parents taught him. If he had been in gryffindor or even Ravenclaw where there we’re some muggle borns and more half bloods who wouldn’t constantly reinforce his parents teachings maybe he could’ve been friends with the golden trio and maybe he could’ve even helped them on the horcrux hunt.

I love this theory however would like to remind you of an important aspect of Ravenclaw house. Additionally to being smart and seeking knowledge, Ravenclaws are also described as 'individualists' which could easily be interpreted as an understanding of the necessity of harmony. With that in mind, my hypothesis is that Rowena was the absolute Ravenclaw but that it was specifically her daughter who forgot their understanding of others when she lost the understanding of her own mother, the one to have presented the idea of harmony to her in the first place. In that Helena may have actually, if subconsciously, known the consequences of her action and taken them just to hurt her mother. In turn her unfinished business may actually be to redeem herself for having extended a personal feud and made it a problem everyone suffered from. Idk.

I think you may be wasting a hidden talent. You should get a job where you argue for things. This was a very thought out, convincing argument. You even pulled people in by using a very controversial and polarizing subject to highlight your theory. It was very intriguing and had me watch the whole video even though I haven't read any Harry Potter. Good Job!

@@luke possibly helping people by getting them services. Like the old, handicapped/disabled, or someone else that needs people to fight for them. You could work in a hospital as a patient advocate, if they have those in the UK. Or maybe something like a counselor for young people, you did well with those kids in south America. Of course this doesn't mean I want you to stop the videos, they are always fun to watch. :)
