Same, I remember the announcement, and then just looking it up every other year and seeing it plodding along. It's such a good feeling seeing that it's finished and I can't wait to see it.

i remember backing this film right after i graduated high school in 2015 with my graduation money. Now, about 7 years later I have completed my degree, moved across the country (usa), work full time in my degree field, and own a home! So happy for you Luke! I can't wait to see the film!
Every now and again over the years I would come back and check if there were any updates on your film coming out and it's just immensely satisfying the see that the final product is here and I'm over the moon for you Luke! Yay for closure

I was 16 when you announced making the film. I wasn't a kickstarter backer, I don't think, but I defo remember giving £10 for it. I also bought the book and read it super quick (I still have it, and I'm going to reread it before the 1st). super excited for this, I always knew you were talented but totally forgot about this project until it won that award. you've grown so much and I'm super stoked to see carrie and patty (who have also grown so much!) on the project. congrats, luke, take some time off tho, jesus

Absolutely more than deserving of an award. Not trying to lean too hard into the money side of things but for a youtube crowd sourced movie that exceed the expectations of what would be delivered is a monumental achievement to the platform and already speaks for it self. From first subscribing in 2014 i couldn't be happier to see someone so passionate for their art it warms my heart to see someone have their dreams fulfilled.

I remember the build-up to the announcement, getting my comment on facebook immediately removed because I speculated you were making a film, and pissing my grandma off because I wanted to buy a book that would ship into Mexico from the UK! Thank goodness the film is streaming in Mexico, maybe I'll show it to her next time I'm visiting. How time flies... I remember being in middle school and meeting you at VidCon a year (?) before the announcement, and now I'm in my mid-20's about to graduate university. So much has changed, and throughout the years here and there I would think, "Who is Arthur Braxton?" and look up your CZcams channel again. As a former fan that's come around again, I'm so proud of you! I can't wait to watch the film with my roommate.

Bits that made me want to cry with emotion and one of those films that made me feel so at home, despite multiple dark and upsetting themes. A very grounded and beautiful film. So much has changed in the span of those years but im lucky enough to have been able to message her now and to have all those memories of being a young preteen flood back.
