    Yepp code reader gave me P13BA ... which is Inlet Cam Position sensor related .... quick shufti at your video placed it as accessible and within my DIY set.. only comment would add is that on my Series 3 325i 2007 E93 the retaining bolt is a STAR HEADED BOLT common on BMWs so you need a suitable socket and short extension bar and nimble fingers .... managed to drop the bolt but a long third hand with a magnet on the end saved the day !

    hello! thank you for sharing your video. I have a question if I may. I have a 2009 BMW 135i with the n54 engine. My car started to give me the engine service light. I took it to a garage and they ran a diagnostic scan. 4 errors came up relating to a misfiring on cylinder 1 and 5. the guy at the shop said it was the camshaft sensor but he's charging me a fortune to do the job. I was looking to buy the sensor my self at the bmw dealer or autoparts here in the US. The sensor at the autoparts cost about 98 U.S dlls. bmw dealer is about 150 dlls. Now my question is, based on your experience, do you think that might solve the problem? the garage guy is telling me the sensor is under or by the starter. I really don't know if he's telling the truth or not but now that I watched your video I think is trying to rip me off. So do you think he's being honest? Could you please give me an idea if we're talking about the same sensor? I appreciate your help in advance, thank you.

    • @sabriw270
      @sabriw270 Před 5 lety +1

      From what I know cause I have a 2007 328i, if it's under your starter then that's your crankshaft sensor. Your camshaft sensors are on top. The exhaust camshaft sensor is on the left side of the exhaust in the front. You have to move the hose out the way to get to it though. The intake sensor is in the front on the other side. Depending on what model car you have the bolts may be different. I have the star like bolts in mine. Unless you have the right sockets to get that bolt out don't try to move it. The wrong socket will do nothing but round the bolt off and then it's very difficult to get out. You may also want to check the fuse for the camshaft sensor as well before you start. It's in the fuse box under the hood on the passenger side. You open it and get the fuse box that's black and take it out. It's the second fuse in that section. It's a 15amp fuse. Once you check it and if it's burned out replace it. That will save a lot of time when it comes to changing these sensors. If it's burned out then you have no choice but to change them. I changed mine cause when I bought the car it had 15,000 miles on it. It has only 111,382 miles on it now. So I went on and changed mine anyway. You can order these sensors from eBay arranging from $9.00 to 20.00 and it's the same if you got it from the dealership or parts store. Most parts stores will send you back to the dealership to get parts so they can charge you more money. Before you ask yes, I do know what I'm doing and talking about. I was trained to do this I just don't that often because I don't like getting dirty unless it's my car I'm fixing.

Just a note if anyone else have the same problem.
