- Yes, yet again I have found another clip featuring The Temptations and Diana Ross singing "TWYDTTYD" and "Respect". I'm not too sure if the "TWYDTTYD" performance was ever posted on here (I really hate posting clips that are already on here). But I'm gonna post it and see what happens. Oh and before I forget...
Eddie: Hey Diana, that was great! Let's try that one more time!
Diana: Uh...no Eddie not "One more time", not on this show. It's "One more Timex".
LOL!! How Eddie said that was so corny but cute at the same time!! Hehe, I love it! Enjoy!
NOTE: This clip is for entertainment and educational purposes ONLY! No copyright infringement is intended.
Eddie and Diana together is pure magic (I'm going to make you love me) is one of the most beautiful songs ever. I wish soneone would put Eddie and Diana performing it live here on youtube.
"The unforgetable... What was your name again?" I loved this video.
I LOVE seeing Paul up front. I love his deep, rough baritone!
Great of them to give Paul the solo with Diane an Respect. He was the MAN!
The rest of the Tempts are steppin' hard at the rear of the stage toward the end
of Respect.
Good grief! That breakdown at the end of Respect is AMAZING! Both Diana and Paul!
I, also really enjoyed watching and listening to Diana and Paul singing, he was her Friend, too. My thoughts, Paul and Eddie were Best of Friends since grade school, so who would know about each other, Eddie and Paul. I think Paul knew a lot about how Eddie and Diana felt about each other, even Eddie. I think he knew what and how Eddie really felt about Diana, because Best Friends would tell the other their most private and deepest feelings and secrets between each other, they would never repeat anything, cause that's what Friends do, your Best Friend. I, feel that's why Eddie didn't have anyone else as close as Paul, to talk to, same goes with Paul?? But, we will never know? Just my thoughts between Two Best Friends 👥🎙🎙📀💿❤❤ The 2 Lead Singers, Forever Temptations, Then,Now and Forever!! Thanks to Paul and Eddie!!
Damn Diana's beltin' it. Sing it girl .amazing singer
Paul was killing this song! The brother had soul!
diana looked liked she was blushing singing with eddie (she was smiling hard) lol
Diana is a flirt period lol
They were childhood friends. Primes and Primettes and I heard they were really close.
The temptations were soul and accepted by so many blacks and Diana was seen as a white artists and she really wanted to be accepted by her own people
That’s cause they were getting it lol n in real life on the stage not just on the stage!
@@gracegreen1859 she was in love with eddie at one time when he was married she threw a brick in his front window where him and wife Patricia stayed!
eddie and diana were so cute 2gether
EDDIE KENDRICKS, THE MUST HANDSOME MAN !!!!!! TEMPTATIONS FOREVER !!!!!
I think this Video of Eddie and Diana doing the song, together is so awesome and the proformance, together you can tell there was a little more than the Song 💞 plus I just Love watching and Listening to them and the other Temptations, also Paul and Diana were just Wonderful Friends 👏 singing, together with the other Temptations, 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙🌹Along, with Alot of Fun and Great Talent on that Stage, during this Performance ☆
DIANA IS SIMPLY AMAZING!!! I LOVE HER!
THE SUPREMES WERE EVERYTHING!!! Much respect to the Temptations also!
Ms. Ross working that gown honey
There are no shows of performances like that today. This was a great Motown showmanship performance, the way Berry Gordy had them trained. Give the best show possible and as ONE. TWO together delivered just that.
Thanks Disco Nights1987 for posting this video.
Diana Ross sounds so good. I'd forgotten she had that sweet, soulfoul, funky sound - soft but very powerful - like Smokey.
@jcblue15
I would be smiling hard to if I would have been even close to Eddie Kendricks. He was good looking and he had something about him that was soo charismatic. And that smile would make you melt. I have always and will always love me some Eddie.
Same withe me & Diana!!!!😮😮😮
Paul Williams was such a great singer.
I'm always happy to see Paul on lead - what a fine and dynamic singer.
Love the vid. Wish Paul would have done more dancing to this song. But then, if I remember correctly, they couldn't "get down" too much on the shows back then cause they had to appeal to everyone. That's alright though cause we all know who the very best dancer was, now don't we? All eyes on Paul.
TEMPTATIONS FOREVER
That's entertainment. Give me that at the Superbowl Half-time show. Those costumes were "far out" too!! Thanks for posting..
Paul Williams was awesome!!
Now those were the good old days
What a great performance!! I remember this show!! Diana can sing any song any time she wants to!! They tore it up!! Some people are so dumb!!
Diana really knows how to share the stage! She is so funny, good dancer and performer! Paul and all the temptations guys are great too
Diana sounds incredible! Please stop all the negativity. Yes she had an ego and was confident; most people would have been that way in her position. She was a doll in this clip. She shows such love and respect for Paul, her former band mate from Prime and the Primettes. They were great friends since they were about 15 ya know. RIP Paul...you had a gift from GOD! Temps forever brother.
Wow! Great performances! Miss Ross is so silly lol
Dennis sounds so cute when asks "hey, what was your name"? And he's fine.
I wasn't even born yet but so happy to enjoy this video. I love to listen Oldies...indule Diana Ross and Temptations.
just fantastic thank you for this great post and a wonderful performance by the temps and diana
I love this thank you so much for posting it xx
great artists at work!!!! thanks so much for posting this video!!
Thank you for uploading this video, amazing
My brother had this album in his collection back in the day. I heard it was a good show. I was a little girl when this aired, so I didn't get to see it, but I wish I could've; I bet it was great!
Thanks for posting, great!
Total joy!
Ok how classic is this!!!
I do too. This is such an amazing show and really shows off how versatile Miss Ross really is. Kudos to them all, but especially to Dennis, who, having just joined the group, had to face the public as the guy who replaced the great David Ruffin - and left us all saying, "David WHO???" I'm not knocking King David - he was as good as it gets, but Dennis made the group his own (to a point.) Too bad Jean Terrell, great as she was, wasn't up to the same Herculean, unenviable task.
Thanks For Sharing!
this is so nice thanks for uploading this.
Gracias por este maravilloso video..es un regalo!!! THKS FOR THIS WONDERFUL VIDEO GIFT, I was born 56, I lived with all this incredible music...Cheers from MEXICO!!! keep going!!
Great Clip. I never saw this!!!! Thank!!!!
Just the amazing BEST. F Wow!
When Diane said "I'm Surrounded By Tempatation"! Everybody looked at Eddie like u know dis apart of da skit.... Diane and Eddie had great chemistry.
Diana could sing anything....
Damn Diana sounds good, she came in rippin that harmony with Eddie!
Wow, I was probably a month old when this came on TV (depending when it was aired). I'd love to see this on DVD. Depending on who has the rights to this and if they didn't misplace the original tape of this show, this would be great to see.
GREATEST HHOW EVER TEMPTS AND DI .tHANK yOU
TCB!What a great classic t.v.special that was!
Damn! Paul was powerful! He should have had more leads with the Tempts. He clearly outsings Princess Diana here.
No one ever said Diana was the only talent in the group. Not Gordy, not anyone I ever heard. Certainly not Miss Ross, who gave Mary props in many interviews. Gordy saw that Miss Ross had the goods to take Motown over the rainbow and she did just that. All the members of both groups were very talented. Paul, Dennis, Eddie, David - come on, they were the bomb! All that being said, over 40 years after this show, Miss Ross obliterated sold-out Radio City Music Hall and Caesars Palace. Amazing Woman.
You are absolutely correct. She is a living legend. She worked her fanny off , and had the goods to cash the check. She ROCKS!
Miss Ross sounds real nice on here...nice vocals..
I bow to the great David Ruffin, and still ache the day I saw Cindy on TV in Flo's place. Flo had a quality, that no one has ever been able to describe. Much like Miss Ross, who despite her enormous talents, still has an extra something that brings in the masses decades later. I might budge a bit on my David comment, but not Flo. What song or songs are you referring to? I think my dear Flo was not the vocalist of legend, not from what I;ve heard anyway - but I still dig her big time.
What can I say? Crème de la Créme... doesn't get any better than this. ;-)))
The costumes were it all and we all knew the words just magic nothing like it!!!
eddie had feeling for her too so that song was perfect
I love how the girls enter the stage at the beginning of "Respect" with that little strutting jig. But Diana's wig….fail.
diana's wig LMAO!!! so funnii
Thank You!!
i enjoyed it
Both of the performances were from their television special "T.C.B."
Oh, you are very correct! I do believe that she was in the studio during the English and grammar portion of her high school years! Lol- However, she does sound fabulous and crisp on this track!!!
This is, I believe, from a REALLY wonderful show that was on television in the early 70s called TCB (Taking Care of Business) and a live album was generated from that performance. I'd love to see it play again.
1968 , and it is available on cd. The soundtrack to this television special was number 1 for weeks in the USA!
The two great favorites love both ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
I grew up in East Africa with the record of the soundtrack this tv special. It made me learn my English and love music. I feel so lucky to have been exposed to so much talent at the tender age of 3... btw I was born in 1974 :-)
No, I can hear her spell it correctly - but I love that you heard it differently. When I first heard You Cant Hurry Love, I was hearing "You Catering Love" and wasn't getting the song until it was announced after. I've met others years later who thought the same thing.LOL
YESSSSSSSS!!! YESSSSS!!!!! YESSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
They did that!!!!
This TCB special was very memorable. I think that Dennis Edwards performance was off the chain for a newcomer.
8-17-17. Today is Paul William sr death RIP love you always love and kisses forever love Tina always
this is myjam
great clip from TCB thanks for sending to me bob
This is the only version of The Way You Do The Things You Do I've seen without Ruffin. Cool find! Thanks!
It’s been a long time so idk if you’re active but yes you’re right! As we know David was on the original recording.
This was a great show, I wish someone would replay. I have the album but totally wore out.
iM SURROUNDED AROUND THE T3MPTATiON...!
SOo FELLAz TEMPT M3...!
LoL...! CLASSiC MRz. ROSSz...!
I have an LP from the late 60s of Diana Ross and the Temptations , I must dig it out and Post
did u ever post it? the temps not diana..
Its ridiculous to say that anyone out-sang anyone else on this performance! There isnt ONE single time when anyone is more powerful than the others.
FFS just take it for what it is, A FUCKING AMAZING PERFORMANCE, and enjoy it instead of trying to make it some kind of silly competition!
I think I remember this from back in the day...
@babyluvchild Detroit is one of the great cities in world history, our auto industry and Motown influenced the way this country and most of the world lived. Our auto industry changed America into a truly urban nation At least in Gordy's writings and ear. Troops in Desert Storm who said they heard a lot of Motown being played around Baghdad! Its a pity so many people in Michigan dont appreciate the greatness and global impact of Detroit's culture of art and industry.
Sing it while I pat my foot!
i know right! he was so smooth...i've been trying to get that down but i just can't...lol and if you look at blue and otis they were like way off
what was the name of the show they were performing on? (twydttyd)
Nice :)
is the whole special on youtube? i wasn't born yet but know it's importance.
thanks :-)
You can tell there was love chemistry with Eddie and Diana
TheAithWONDER two reasons: Diana Ross
Fans are still waiting for Motown to release the two television specials that the Supremes and the Temptations recorded together. First, the landmark Timex "T.C.B." special ftom 1968, followed by the G.I.T. special. That's what we wanr to see, not the bootleg versions, which we gladly content ourselves with for now. Incidentally, for anyone who has watched the "Temptations" movie: The party scene where Paul Williams says that he sang "For Once In My Life" on nationwide television, that scene is referencing the "T.C.B." special. Great stuff!!! "Temptations and Supremes foreever!!" Check it Out! Ciao!!!
Class video,.ktf.
i got this TCB on LP ....i can make a cd of it
Do you have the Temps doing Taste of Honey (I think they did right after "Respect")
Classy...I bet your Momma's so proud.
I just saw this for the 1st time, what I see is Paul, deep and soulful, Eddie, silky smooth, Diana, her body language saying "It's ok for you to sing and dance with me, but don't touch me or get too close to me". No chemistry like Marvin & Tammy.
+TheAithWONDER So sad!! F*#! Berry!!
Diana was trying to keep it professional between herself and Eddie. They had an affair and by looking at this clip you can see the sexual attraction.
@@TheAithWONDER - Yes, I believe that Berry Gordy hit on Florence first.
1. This fact was also in the book, "All that Glittered My life with the Supremes" by Tony Turner.
2. Florence did not like the short egotistical Berry Gordy.
3. Florence was stacked and was beautiful when the group started out. Diana was so skinny but cute. Later on DR started to fill out.
4. I believe BG had it out for her from the day she spurned his advances. The girls were young and did not know how to deal with the evil man. Mary was right to just bite your tongue and not cause trouble.
5. I believe Flo was murdered because she was writing a tell all book on Gordy. His wife Raynoma Singleton said in her book that he was a Pimp and he loved to gamble. He had some girls working in downtown Detroit.
@christimacc Overrated - Please for anyone to say Diana was overrated - it means that they don't know class or talent when they see it. So your opinion on her is very underated.
No, as far as I know none of these performances are available on DVD.
what yr was this made?
@MightyMite76 Sorry, I don't have that clip. Wish I did though.
They were already doing covers of "Respect"? Aretha probably released it a couple days before this was filmed. :p
How come we can't respond to comments any more?
Dennis is sooooooo FINE!
@tommiexander HECKK YEA!!! lol i wouldnt b able 2 sing on key probably♥ he was adorable i need a time machine dernit!!
@Christian13131
You got me there! *tease*
@OriginalTemptations Funny - but from what I've read he seemed to have really liked Diana and Mary Wilson wrote in her second book that she also dated Eddie. How lucky were they ?
Was this performance after Eddie and Diana's affair? I heard the affair sent Beŕry Gordy over the edge. Apparently, there was alway a chill between Berry and Eddie.
Diane and Eddie Was Together First As Teenagers
