This has been on the to do list for a very long time. I reckon it's a great addition to the workshop. I think the wheels look fine but I'm not sure I nailed the design and that's something I may try again in a future project.
As always I'm happy to answer any questions.

did you make the tap and die? If so do you have a video on it?
@@DanielJAudette He did: czcams.com/video/mTnVDl6Y6u4/video.html
Thanks for the very inspirational video, it's somewhere in the top 10 on my to do list
I love the "steering wheels".
I eagerly await each video you put out and I have yet to be disappointed! Thank you!
Your 'scrap' is better then the lumber I can buy here...
I should move.
I was thinking that myself.
If I didnt know better...lol Id think he was pushing the limit of what anyone would consider "Scrap wood"
Cause anytime i can get 6 to 8 feet of usable 2x6 or 2x8 hardwood boards I would have a hard time calling that some ole "scrap". But...-shrug-
It's way better than what we sell in the hardware store I work at, shopping here would be the real challenge. :P
Here in Australia, the camphor laurel is an invasive weed so local councils are continually removing them when they can. This should make the scrap wood available if you're in the right place at the right time. I haven't looked into it but it came to my attention when they took down a tree in front of a friend's place on the NSW North Coast. I took a wiff of the bit left behind. It really does have that camphor aroma.
Thank you four your clean and pleasant acoustical landscape! Pour joy to hear! No unnecessary background music! Wonderful.
yes!
The technique of making 3 spoke wheels that way ... GENIUS!
This channel fills the gap for me between Paul Sellers and Matthias Wandel. As highly skilled, creative and instructional as both of them. Less gimmicky, and less purist then each of them. I love you, Pask Makes!
WHO ELSE WISHES THEY HAD A WORKSHOP LIKE THIS!! XD great vid pask and a dream vice to own.!
I'd be happy to have a fraction of the skills that Neil demonstrates. That way, I could probably make the workshop if I needed it. Damned good video, as usual.
@@s10m0t10n and I think a lot of guys would kill for the "Scrap wood" he has laying around
The handwheels are great, almost worth getting a lathe just to make a pile of those.
mozismobile Glad you like them Moz! You should get a lathe, they were fun to make. 😊
Even without a lathe, you can make those using a router bit and or a drill or post drill. Where there's perseverance, there's "can".
You should definitely get a lathe, they are great fun to use!
Dare I insert a shameless plug here? (Check out my newest video, there is lathe work in it) 😉
Love your stuff Neil! Keep up the scrap wood challenges, they’re fantastic!
You could make these without a lathe, cut a circle or cut four parts of a circle and join them together, then round them over on both sides with a router table to get a "tube" circle..then you can insert a center any way you wish...
Very nice ! Especially loved your wooden screw handles 👍👍
Using scrap wood to make tools to make scrap wood tools to make more scrap wood tools to make and everyone of them are professional grade. I'll never measure up this much, but you sir are an inspiration.
I am soo glad to have seen this, I now know I can make a fully functional free vice without buying hardware.. Thank YOU!!
This is how the real woodworking should look like. Starting with ugly, raw pieces, and the end result is as beautiful as those wooden handwheels. I just hope that the middle of the wooden wheel will be strong enough for the job. Great video. Thank You!
To paraphrase a certain Aussie chap, "Thats not a tap - this is a TAP!" Great, everytning as usual Neil, enjoy your break.
Clearly the most beautiful moxon I have seen . Come on Pask ,you know it and I know it . BRAVO.
This moxon vice is awesome! You are a master craftsman, your attention to detail is amazing!
Absolutely love those hand wheels. Thanks for sharing your talent.
When I soak my knife handles in oil, I put the knifes and oil in a plastic bag, then put that into a container similar to the one you used, but fill that with water to reduce the volume of oil needed around my wood. Might be a handy trick if you're low on oil and need to soak a long piece.
Clever!
Amazing work on the threaded dowels and the wheels. Very impressed.
If everything in the world could be made out of wood I think it would be a calmer world to live in. Wood is such a wonderful thing.
Just beautiful. The wood and the craftsmanship! Thank you for sharing your time and talent!
I don't know why but this intro mesmerizes me and I watch it like 5 times every time I watch one of your scrap wood challange videos
Oh man - this is so beautiful 😍 🥰 i love it ! You can build anything! Thanks a lot for sharing 🙏🙏🙏
Excellent video and process. That is some of the most beautiful wood I have seen in a long time. Thank you for sharing. Love the design.
The whole project is a thing of beauty. Love those wheels!
Another outstanding well-executed project. I am humbled when I watch you make gorgeous projects from your "scrap wood". I too have a Moxxon vise on my to-do list, and I'm inspired by this one.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, and skills, with us; it is always a pleasure, to watch your videos. You are a true craftsman, as well as an inspiration.
- Absolutely BEAUTIFUL pieces of woodgrain & end product. Thanx 4 the demos on tapping. Every new technique is valuable.
The best Moxon Vice I've ever seen Neil, absolutely beautiful, the attention to detail is amazing, well done keep up the great work and keep those video's coming
beautiful project!
i am sure i speak for others when i say " we appreciate you being a human" :-)
i love your commentary of how things do not and how you manage them efficiently
cheers from New Brunswick, CANADA!
Getting ready to make my Moxon Vice at your interpretation/demonstration was World-Class. Amazing, simple, using scraps, ingenuity, and the right tools. Good job Sir!
The is beautiful Neil. And I love how you made the handles.
Probably the most beautiful Moxon I ever saw with (0) zero cost ... Kudos my friend !!!!
I always learn more from your videos. Very inspiring. I feel like i owe you. Good willing i will soon buy some of your plans as soon as my work bench is ready.
Once again the way in which you are able to use scrap is both incredible and inspiring. Keep up the great work cobber
Truly outstanding mate. It's like an art piece.
The stuff you have made out of scrap wood it's amazing.
Scrap wood? That's your scrap wood?
I spend my life dreaming about wood like that!!
Seriously, great project and thanks for sharing
Terrific project and finish. Thanks for this and all of your videos!
When watching you put the finish on it, all I kept saying was ‘oh, wow!’. The grain popped so nice on the “scrap wood” (I cant get over how nice your scrap wood is). Loose tenons apart, the overall finished Moxon Vice was stunning (a wedged tenon would have been nice).
So much fun to watch you work. And make mistakes, which people do.
That vice turned out really nice.
As a wood worker in the US, I always enjoy watching you work, just because you have such a completely different range of woods available, and seeing the different grain and color is just Fun ;)
Ich finde das so der Hammer was du immer Bastelst! Respekt!
Just stunning. Very very stunning. Thanks for your great videos.
E' sempre tempo ben speso guardare i suoi video.
Bellissimo progetto realizzato con la grande manualità che la contraddistingue. Complimenti.
I added this to my Wood Tools Clamping list. I'm really impressed with the Look of the wood after you put the finish on it. That light to dark contrast is awesome. God may have made the trees, but you brought out the beauty inside.
As usual, a great project by a real master. Keep them coming.
Wonderful ! Love your réalisation because you use simple tools for big project ! Thanks you for your sharing ! A big fan of 🇫🇷
What a great build, and that is some beautiful wood! Great job all around!
I think I've watched this video 5 times now great work Neil I will make one
I sure did!
Beautiful scrap wood… or any other wood, challenge!
Thank you, for sharing!
Fantastic work mate! Great to be surprised with a new channel with quality content every now and then!
I LOVE THOSE HANDWHEELS!
Yes, that needed to be shouted.
Great video, pleasure watching you work Mate, have a nice day !!!
I don't think it is a vice.
It is more than that. It is a piece of beautiful artwork.
Love it.
You really are a genius! Your ideas are always incredible! Congratulations! Hugs from Brazil.
Classic workmanship....great to see the details....👍👍👍
Like watching you make things. I love woodworking and you do it awesomely. Thank you.
You nailed the design. And the execution. All I can say is wow. This is your best work, and that's saying something.
That turned out just beautiful!
That is so far beyond my current ability, however it is something to aim for. Absolutely amazing and beautiful job
That's a piece of Art Niel. I can't wait for my Camf Lor to dry so I can start using it. In the mean time I have the beautiful fragrance every time I walk past my 'Stack'. And to top it off the hand wheels are amazing. Definitely put my daggy looking star knobs to shame that I have on my Moxon vice. Well done as usual
I've always wanted /needed a Moxon vice, incredible what 'you' can do with some scrap timber just use your eye... Wow great project nicely done... Really enjoy your videos keep them coming...
Inspired work of heart and vision. Very practical. Thanks.
Beautiful work. You really plussed it with the attention to detail.
Dude, the hand made wheels and screws... mind blown. And don't think I didn't see that home made band saw!
That's a beauty of a vise! As always you inspire me to get better at my craft!
Really neat Moxon Vise. They're a 'must have' tool for any workshop. We made one a couple of years ago and it gets constant use.
great job as usual ! beautiful piece of scrapwood ! If i had a clean garage and woodworking machines !!!!!
take care and continue your great sharing.
 from France
SOS EL MAS GRANDE! abrazo gigante desde buenos aires ARGENTINA! adoro tus trabajos!!!
Because of you, I made a kerfmaker. Next up is the portable workbench, and I'll probably have to add a Moxon vise to it. Very inspiring. Thanks much.
Best looking vise I've seen. Beautiful grain!
The challenge now is to make something on it that has a better grain pattern!! Now there's a challenge.
Great video pask
Best looking Moxon vice I have seen.Spelt correctly as well.
Chaque vidéo est magnifique et celle-ci confirme encore une fois votre talent vivement la prochaine vidéo merci.

Nice work on the making of the moxon vice Neil! Thank you for sharing the video. 👌👍😎JP
The way you made the wheels... genius, man!!!! Now I can go make mine. Thank you sir. Think imma follow now.
I love how if something goes wrong he's always has a solution to fix it proving you don't got to be perfect on everything
💛 love the hand wheels.
Fabulous! Great job!!
Pask could make a dog house out of popsicle sticks and I would still watch it. Hands down, one of the best woodworking channels on the web.
I knew today was gonna a be a good day! Another Pask video!
A very excellent and beautiful work!!!
Very nicely done Pask! Have a wonderful trip mate!!
This is not a tool, this is a piece of art. Awesome!
You make some brilliant videos, great items too. Very informative & entertaining channel. Thanks.
Your process for making the handles was genius. Thanks for sharing! :-)
Great project, glad to see "scrapwood" back
That is truly beautiful!
what lovely colors on the wood! and great job with those hand wheels!
I love those handwheels.
Oh Pask you do love your glue don't you. Lovely job must try to make a set for my workshop. Well done and keep those videos coming.
The handwheels! I love them.
I love your stuff. Excellent channel, great projects, and really nice bloke.
Best looking scrap/crap on YT! Amazing!
Nice work. Especially those spiffy hardwood wheels!
Such gorgeous wood, great project and video.
Besides excellent work, I absolutely adore Your sticker: "No drama, laser lama". Brilliant!
I have never seen taps and dies for cutting wood...and I been around tools for 70 years. Always more to learn.
You can make then reasonably easy with the right materials. I think he made the tap from a pallet rack screw?? and the die was also made by creating his own cutter. I am pretty sure there is a vid of his on it.
Great build Neil. Another for THE LIST
I like the handwheels , very nice. the whole thing turn out very well . exelent job
I watch your videos without rewinding, there is something to learn.
