Solved my problem! I'm pretty handy. However, I'm not a mechanic, I'm a CPA! I was an electronics tech on B-52's during my USAF days and my father was a career auto mechanic. So I'm well versed on how many things work. My SRM 225 wouldn't start! MANY videos talked about the INPUT side of things. Air filters, carbs, primer bulb, chokes, gas line filters, gas lines etc. I took my 225 INPUT side all part. Cleaned everything, replaced filters, broken hoses, nothing seemed particularly worn or dirty. Checked for spark, check! Put everything back together and the damn thing still wouldn't start. Although, it did "hiccup" a bit. SLIGHTLY more than it did before the tear down! I shook my head, "what is the problem with this damn thing!" THEN, it occurred to me, "the OUTPUT side gotta be working too!" So, I removed the muffler! Yanked on the starting cord and WHAM, the mutha started right up! It's MUCH easier to start your trouble shooting from the OUTPUT side FIRST! If your 2-stroker doesn't start, remove the muffler, then try to start her. If she starts, clean the muffler, if not move on to the INPUT side of things! I like to run my 2-strokers with a little more oil in the gas than recommended. If you do too, check that muffler FIRST, everytime if that 2-stroker won't start!

I like the video, very well explained. I had no idea how to clean the muffler for my echo 225 until I viewed this video.

I tore down my Pas 225 until I came to removing the muffler. The bolts are super tight. suggestion on how to loosen, or just crank em off? Your video is very helpful , Thanks
