    Many thanks for your detailed 'how to' video to repair and clean my Regal II bbq purchased in 1998!

    I came on one of these fire magic grills and it was dirty as hell. My wife asked me, witch of the neighbors trash did i picked it up from and to return it.
    I removed the burners and everything else that wasn't bolted down. Using a wire brush is a great idea but requires a lot of elbow grease. I grabbed my angle grinder and a wire wheel, i did all the inside and the results are incredible. Brought the shine back. The wire wheel high spinning RPMs not only gets rid of hard to remove residue in no time, it aslo polishes the material at the same. time.
    Use an angle grinder with a Variable Speed trigger or use an external Variable Speed Controller. You don't want to use the grinder at full speed.

    Thanks for this useful info, I'm off to try it on our unit. Are those bushy yellow flames due to a problem with gas supply or just burning off some left over grease?

      No problem. It’s left over grease. It cleaned up and went blue.

    Do you know what model. I have the exact model and need to start a complete refurbish project. The grates are completely corroded, need the igniter replaced, the flavor plates are all corroded.

    Thank you! Any idea why retainer clips are needed?

      It’s just to keep the burners from moving around or dislodging. If you don’t move the BBQ, you can probably get away without them.

      They are for shipping and can be removed

      @@yesladinc That is not true. They are there to ensure the burners do not become dislodged and dump a tank of propane into a closed area that containing a flame.

    If you have a receipt for the grill, the burners and inside grill area are covered under a lifetime warranty. They replaced all 6 free and part of my cabinet....

    What's the trick to installing those clips? Having a tough time getting then to seat cleanly

    • @mechtrician1
      @mechtrician1  Před rokem +1

      They are a pain to get in. I didn’t really find a trick.
      Apparently you don’t absolutely have to have the clips though.

      @@mechtrician1 Thanks so much for replying. Somehow I got lucky and snapped one in, and the gas flows muuuch better with it. But wow it's tough. I feel there's a special tool or trick to save my thumbs :). And thanks so much for posting this! It's super helpful
