    *Aloha & Merry Christmas, my friend.
    I'm wondering why scraping by hand is necessary when you have the polycarbide brush wheel that seems to work so well. I'm thinking about restoring an old grill.

    Hi Matt, I still have my DCS/fisherpaykel - BGB36-BQAR-N 36" Gas Grill + CAD-36 Stainless Steel Grilling Cart after 17 years. It's been a great value. I don't have a Sam's Club membership, and I've tried many degreasers to no avail. Is there a commercial industrial strength degreaser I can buy somewhere that works as effectively as what you showed?

    • @affordablegasgrillrepair638

    Hi Matt, regarding the 4 1//2" polycarbide wheel and drill bit for cleaning off the rust. Can you please provide links or specifics on which one's you use? I've done a fair amount of searching and have found grinder pads on Amazon -
    Scotch-Brite Clean and Strip XT Pro Disc - Rust and Paint Stripping Disc - 4.5” diam. x 5/8-11 Quick Change Thread - Extra Coarse Silicon Carbide, will this work well? Also, I haven't found a drill bit of similar type for the W side of the grill plates.
    Thanks in advance!

    If you don't rinse out the rust and degreaser, doesn't it just spread it to other areas after wiping?

    • @affordablegasgrillrepair638
      @affordablegasgrillrepair638  Před 5 lety +1

      Wiping it out with the shop towels, like in this video is only when we are not able to remove the grill and rinse out with water. The shop towels absorb it all and then we burn it out afterwards to get rid of any residual residue. Rinsing out with water is optimal. 👍

    I washed the burners with hot water and dawn and a lot of elbow greas. Now the grill will not turn on. Does it need to dry for a day? Or what

      matthew adams , once you remove all the dry debris, I use a heavy degreaser, let it soak, then with industrial grade scotch pads, heavy abbrasion. Then Shop towel it out...
